What do Obamaites have to say about this?
http://news.yahoo.com/s/politico/20091027/pl_politico/28764
Interesting how Bush was seen as being so bad when doing what he did but Obama makes Bush look like a fething boy scout.
Thoughts?

Why yes, I do have a thought:
Seriously, though:
Yahoo! News wrote:Obama’s story line was more positive from the start: historic newcomer coming to shake up Washington. So the negatives that sprung up around Obama — like a sense that he was more flash than substance — track what negative coverage he’s received, captured in a recent “Saturday Night Live” skit that made fun of his lack of accomplishments in office.
/sarcasm = true, flame = nil
I think Fateweaver should be president. Then I can complain that he plays Warhammer all the time, and posts provocative threads on Dakka Off Topic. Bad President Fateweaver... That makes me a sad panda...
/sarcasm = false
It is WAAAAAAAY to easy to focus on what hasn't been done and twist the truth on what has been done.
/sarcasm = true
DID YOU HERE THAT OBAMA GUY KILLED A FLY?!?! MURDERER!!!
/sarcasm = false
BTW, Obama wasn't mentioned in this one, but your link says it was him... Sensationalism in media, much?

Ah yes, I do love looking to pick fights on dakka. Seeing as how I get insulted and have had to report people for personal attacks on me for stating my opinion and because it doesn't jive with what they feel they have to sling turds like a bunch of monkeys.
You don't like the topic tbloc you don't have to post a reply.
Obvious troll is obvious is right.
I just want to hear thoughts on why Bush got cut down for everything he did but Obama has done worse and nobody has spoken up about it.
If I was trolling I'd be calling all left-wingers drinkers of the Obama kool-aid who like to fondle little boys while looking at gay porn. That is trolling, what I did was post a topic wanting peoples reactions. It's a free world tbloc. Don't like what I post don't fething read it. The ignore button exists for a reason.

You are preaching to the choir about the whole opinion thing. See the "Why am I morally Corrupt" thread. You asked for thoughts, I gave you mine. If you notice, the flame value of that sarcasm was set to nil. That was kinda a personal attack, though... But the title of this thread is "In your face..." A little confrontational for those who support Obama. What is so wrong in those examples you posted? Just my opinion, but people are wanting for him to fail, and look at everything he does with that mindset.

He (as in the administration) essentially duped the public into supporting the invasion of Iraq.
Most of the stuff Bush did, and that Obama has also done, is entirely benign. No one makes noise about the amount golf someone plays because its entirely irrelevant insofar as playing golf doesn't affect his ability to do his job as the PoTUS.
The details of Bush's personal behavior were generally used as a means of making light of his perceived incompetence. They illustrated his unpopularity, but they didn't cause it.

You know, shocking as it may seem in the age of broadband connections and 24 hour pizza delivery, many things in the world aren't point and click.
Anyway, he's pretty well on pace for his campaign promises with respect to Afghanistan.

I never said that he was a good President. I just find the critique of "he hasn't done anything' to be incredibly deficient.
The dude hasn't even been in office for a year, and the measure for 'anything' being used implicitly deals in major achievements. Passing healthcare legislation, dealing with foreign policy, and other similar Presidential activities are not comparable to the filing of TPS reports.
It isn't like the dude sits in the oval office playing Halo, smoking pot, and throwing darts at the America flag. He does actually perform tasks that most people would consider to be work if they bothered to actually think about what work is.

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made. |

exactly.
It's been just a year, most legislation takes about a year to be agreed upon by a majority of parliament/the senate/congress and another year to be published before it actually takes effect. A lot of Obama's ideas haven't even been talked about yet. Things set in motion in the first year will only be starting in 2011.
At least Obama is not likely to spend the majority of his term on vacation.

I can't wait until soul-crushing reality sets in and the people who voted for Obama realize he's not taking them to sugar candy mountain. Has the change happened? Did I miss the change? I'm not saying he's the worst president ever or anything, but I really dont see any CHANGE happening. Except my ciggarette prices going up. He's a politician, they make promises they can't keep (Lie) for a living, I don't see why anyone is surprised he hasnt accomplished anything yet. I think the only reason he gets away with stuff the Bush got called on is because he's popular, he was good at advertising himself during the 2008 campaign.

Frazz, if you're going to spout partisan propaganda, you're capable of much better.
People are grumpy because the economy sucks. As the economy improves, people will be less grumpy. It's as simple as that, and not a referendum on a presidency.
Sure, if the economy still stinks 3 years from now, Obama will be in trouble. But the key part of that phrase is *3 years from now.* I wouldn't get too excited yet.

What Obama HAS done is improve America's standing in the world. No small thing. America needs friends (like it or not) in order to succeed as a superpower. The US relies on ideology as much as (if not more than) military might when trying to sell 'Brand America'. When you have a Gov't that starts wars and tortures people, even your closest allies start to question their alignment with you.

Saying the right track, track is propaganda is nonsense. Its the WSJ poll out this morning. The Obama Administration statement recently that the stimulus "already did what its gonna do" and that unemployment could stay near the 10% range through 2010 should be sending thrills of terror through the Democratic Party. It does not bode well for the Democrats seat position in Congress.
This isn't 1933 (hopefully). The US won't stand a multiterm president on a bad economy. Thats just history speaking.

Really?
NATO just announced its not committing more troops unless follows McCrystal plan.
Iran's still making nuke material
We gave up Eastern Europe to the Russians for nothing.
Countries are actively trying to subvert the strength of the US dollar.
