Forever alone

What's with all the depressing threads in the OT forum, guys? Why is everyone here so fething depressed?

We need an optimism thread. Something to celebrate beer, women and sniffing GW paint (feels good man). :3

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made.

Optimism is for sissies.

I'm optimistic about life. Got my FFL and am slowing saving up towards a few assault rifles.

Life is grand.

--The whole concept of government granted and government regulated 'permits' and the accompanying government mandate for government approved firearms 'training' prior to being blessed by government with the privilege to carry arms in a government approved and regulated manner, flies directly in the face of the fundamental right to keep and bear arms.

And whilst you're pointing and shouting at the boogeyman in the corner, you're missing the burglar coming in through the window.

Well, Duh! Because they had a giant Mining ship. If you had a giant mining ship you would drill holes in everything too, before you'd destory it with a black hole

That's an insult to Motley Crue

I am both selfish and chaotic. I value self-gratification and control; I want to have things my way, preferably now. At best, I'm entertaining and surprising; at worst, I'm hedonistic and violent.

The calender says the 13th Baktan will end, and that Quetzalcoatl will devour us all, resulting in universal rebirth... The calender actually goes up to the year 4300 something...

Optimists only set themselves up to ultimately end their lives in a sad state of dejected misery and depression.

Optimists are always looking for the silver lining and looking for the best possible outcome of every situation. This means that anytime anything doesn't got as good as it possibly could, than the optimist is let down and disappointed. Eventually this builds up causing them to become bitterly disillusioned and depressed in life.

Meanwhile, pessimists are always expecting the worst. So, when the worst does occur they were already prepared for it and so everything is going as expected and they don't have any feelings of being let down. Anytime ever happens when it doesn't turn out as bad as it could possibly be means that things are actually looking up!

When you expect the worst, things are either just as you thought they would be or they are even better! When you expect the best, you are going to be in near constant disappointment.

I work with the biggest optimist on the planet. No matter whats going wrong she has some stupid ass saying about how it will all be fine.
I tend to have no expecations at all then what ever happens is a plus!

I've been reading A Farewell to Arms, and so far I'm really enjoying it. The main character seems to go through a lot of tragedy, but finds his love, escapes the war and now everything is going great for him. I'm really hoping it ends well for him.
