What charcters do you play, what class and grenade mods, are you enjoying the game?

I'm a level 25 hunter with a sniper, blast smg , sledge's shotgun, and a explosive shotgun (Holy s*** it shoots rockets). Longbow grenade mod, assasin class mod and a purple shield is how I roll. Explosive artefact on my pet.

Meh I play the siren im level 24 sledges shotgun and orange worded smg it says "Make people hot" and a super fast firing pistol. Then some mod I forgot and transfusion as the grenade mod I have corrosion level 3 artifact.

I play as a Siren with Sledge's shotgun, a hawt SMG, a great sniper rifle and a killer revolver, plus some class mod that makes me harder in combat and a grenade mod that steals enemy health. Vamp!

The revolver is silver and called the Patton, with a lovely quote from the stupid fether himself.

I'm at lvl 20 with a Soldier. The important part is, I've put as many points as I could in Metal Storm and the skill that gives assault rifles higher magazine size and recoil reduction. Most fights start with some scrub getting popped with my sniper rifle or shotgun, and then burning through 82 rounds of machine gun fire in a few seconds into whatever is unfortunate enough to be in front of me.

Machine pistols with burst fire are funny with metal storm too. Kill something, then BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRPT. Reload. BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRPT. Reload. BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRPT.

I went for the Siren, Im now lvl 34. The smg and the shotgun is my main weapons, witch work like a charm on most enemys, and if that fails... My rocket launcher says hello. Anyways Siren is by far the best class in almost any situation.

I just got it for my PS3 on friday, having lots of fun so far. I'm a soldier and working on my skill tree to get my sentry gun with rockets. I'm level 15 I think. I have mostly been using a sniper rifle that sets people on fire, used that pretty much exclusively to take out Roid Rage guy. Sets stuff on fire with every shot. And I switch between machine guns and SMGs a lot. for grenades I use the one where it explodes then shoots out more grenades and they all explode too.

if I'd have known I'd like sniping so much I probably would have done the sniper class, but oh well. don't wanna start over now.

I have a 50 Berserker that uses a Blast Shotgun, Triple Corrisive Rocket Launcher, Masher Revolver, and a Blast Sniper Rifle. I also use my Explosive Artifact for my Punch-Fest.

I like things to explode.

I also have 2 Soldiers and a Hunter, both in the 20-ish levels.

I prefer Shock Bouncing Bettie grenades to eliminate shields on multiple opponents before the firing starts.

Healing Shields all the way. I'll take lower protection to never have to clog my inventory with healing items.

I'm a level 46 soldier, I have what I like to call "THE INVINCIBLE TURRET!"

Turret gives me health amo and shields, then I just stand behind it blasting away with a heavy machine gun (usually a Vladov support gun or something) I tend to use support gunner class mods, or Leader class mods (for the EXP buff) I also have a gunslinger hunter and a pure brawler berzerker. My favorite grenade mods are either the bouncing betty, longbow, or the rain grenades that Atlas makes. I really hate contact grenades (because I never hit anyone with them D:< ) but I have a friend on XBL who swears by them.

Also, my favorite gun is an SMG carried by my soldier, called the Malevolent Thumper, and it shoots bullets in a spiral pattern. I like it because I can point at enemies trying to hide behind things and go "HA! No cover saves for you!"

I'm level 19 now. I beat Sledge last night, prolly the funnest and most intense boss battle I've had in a game in a while. I had a wimpy shock pistol that I had to use to take down his shield, then I had to switch to my rocket launcher and blast him. He knocked me down twice and and I had shoot rockets at midget faces for my 2nd wind, and then when he had a quarter or so of life left he knocked me down again and I blasted him with 2 rockets, then had to reload and just got the 3rd off in time to kill him and get another 2nd wind and not die. talk about the skin of my teeth...

I wish there was a way I could respec my skills, I'd like to focus more on turret stuff. I wasn't using it as much before but lately I've been using it a lot more, especially in the crystal caves.

You can respec at a New-U station for a very small fee.

Today, I nailedd Krom very easy boss fight once I remembered good ol' longbow grenades and bloodwing! I actually have a Dilemna I like a corrosive x3 sniper (with my class mod it does even more ^_^+28% corrosive damage) that is perfecr for me! I also got reaver edge today. I can't tell which one is better becuase of my personal feelings about corrosive damage, actual hit damage and other things. If anyone has a effective method of testing weapons I would like to know ^_^. Also got my very 1st eridian weapon today! It is the pew pew pew one! love it with all my heart

Different elements have their own specializations
Fire-fleshy targets, like unshielded bandits and skags
Corrosive-armored targets
Shock-Shields
Explosive-Presumably Machinery

While they have certain targets they are great against, they also tend to suck against others. Shock will knock down shields, but it actually loses damage against flesh. Fire is vice versa. Corrosion helps against armor and doesn't seem to suffer from any excessive disadvantages, as far as I know.

I don't know about later levels, I'm 22 now and I rarely need to use any shock weapons on shields. Just for bosses really. I've been getting good at sniping too, it's such a joy to see a bandit's head explode and their body incinerate in a ball of fire. I'm up to the end of dhal headlands now, I think. last quest I have is to kill mad mel. I also found me a corrosive triple rocket launcher I hope to use on him tonight.

Anyone with a PS3 wanna group up for some quests? I don't have a headset though so I can't chat. Right now I'm a level 23 soldier doing new haven quests. my PSN name is xX_Necros_Xx .. I had to add those dumb X's to get the name I wanted. damn name stealers... I'll probably be on and off tonight and tomorrow night.

New Haven has many, many side quests. If you go out of your way to do all of them you'll likely end up overlevelled, but that just makes the boss and arena fights easier.

yeah I'm actually doing all the quests I find, so I can get the trophies for them Some of the dhal headlands quests were gray and trivial for me by the time I did them, but like you say it just makes things easier.

right now I'm trying to find me a fire shield so I can do the mothrak quest easier, I keep getting burned to a charred husk. I figured out I can hide under a roof and take pot shots as it flys by but it still manages to blast me inside sometimes.

I drove around in circles in one of those runners with a rocket launcher and blasted him until he had a small sliver of health left. Then I got out and gunned him down with a machine gun for the most possible exp.

I am looking forward to getting the new DLC "Dr. Ned's Zombie Island"

Love shooting zombies.

Overall, the game is fun but not overwhelmingly awesome. Seems like whenever I play with other people they seem to run around like crazy, all in different directions. Would be fun to play with a group that is more focused and knows how to wring the most challenge and fun out of it.

Just as a bit of advice, if you want the boss fights to measure up, don't bother doing all of the sidequests. Make sure that you are within 1 level of where the quest is supposed to be. I just completed a boss fight that was supposedly for lvl 28 at 32, and I finished the poor thing off before it got to hit me. Not only that, but the loot was a few stacks of money and a revolver.

I still haven't gotten the zombie island DLC. what levels is it for? I'm 26 now I think.

The Zombie Island DLC is leveled to whatever story progress you have. If you are over or underleveled for your story progress, the DLC will reflect that.

I just read there's a whole new DLC coming out on dec 29 for xbox and jan 7 for ps3 and "some day" for PC... gonna be for arena fighting and will also include banks so people can store items

A stash would help, but the weapons you find end up being obsolete pretty quickly.

Will the DLC raise the level cap?

The world is cool and it really has a lot of potential, but the mechanics of it are not working and I am not seeing reason to continue playing?

I am hoping Zombie Island will be fun - I am compelled to at least try anything that includes zombies.

I just downloaded zombie island last night. it's lots of fun. And looks a lot different than the regular game. It's dark but more colorful, not just trash and desert all around. Just be ready to fight a LOT of zombies. Shoot one and 100 start coming at ya from all over. But, they're pretty easy to take down and they're slow, just a lot of them.

I'm on the last level of the game now, about to go kill the big boss at the end so I thought I'd try the zombie island stuff for some extra loot and levels. I think I'm like 37 now.

Still waiting for Ned's Island to be released for the PC. So much for Gearbox's rant on releasing things for all platforms universally.

Quick question, does your class modes that add +x to a skill that is already maxed out affect it even more or no?
