It won't show up on your skill page, but it will boost your skill that many respective levels . I have 5 in metal storm, and a class mod that adds another 3. On my machine gun that has a fire rate of 15 and a clip of 123 bullets, when I fire it's basically one continuous brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrpt.

I finished the Dr Ned expansion last night. It was a lot of fun. Took me a solid 2 nights worth of playing to get through it all, there's a lot in it. Definitely worth the $10 I paid. And now I'm level 40, about to do the last mission in the 1st playthrough so it should be easier now all my gear is level 30+ and my artifacts are all x4. The island was selling stuff in those levels, but back on the mainland, everything is in the level 20's which is I guess the max for your first playthrough...

Just about. Once you start hitting the Crimson Fastness and finishing up playthrough 1 you may see so early 30's equipment, but you really see the equipment get upgraded the second time around.

I finished the first playthrough at level 35. I was pretty far ahead of the level curve for most of the game. You can out-level the game very quickly if you complete a bunch of the challenges, or have a buddy that you have to heal a LOT.

Yeah, someone should actually write a guide that shows you exactly how much you can do without ruining the challenge of the game.
My suggestions:
-Don't do all the side missions. Just getting there and doing them will level you up too much to make 'main story' missions hard and fun.
-Try not to go overboard going to the respawned weapon boxes in the towns (especially New Haven, where there are SIX).
- Blackbone

I did all of the missions I wanted to get the "whole story" and when folks advised I shouldn't do it because it will level me too high, I liked that idea better. A fun boss battle for me is one I can win, I get frustrated real easy if I die 10 times doing the same thing. Not only that, but I got real sick of claptrap telling me to go get new missions every 2 minutes Tonight if I have time I'll be going through that last zone and killing the final boss. Found some nice shock weapons on zombie island that should help a lot with those guardians.

I'm a completionist, so I did all of them anyway. The problem is that many of the boss fights can become disappointing, although gunning down regular grunts can always be made new and interesting with a simple weapon swap. Going through playthrough 2 is much easier than the first go round, despite all of the enemies being buffed up. Mostly because by then my missile launching super-exploder gun turret that has almost no cooldown anymore has become a weapon of mass destruction that can mow down entire bases of bandits by itself.

Mad Mel was pretty annoying, while other fights were piss easy. During playthrough 2 I finally did get an Alien zappy gun.

Well you were right, the final boss fight was a breeze at level 40. I think it lasted about 15 minutes, 14 of that was from the cutscenes and credits.
I started playthrough 2 and blew though a bunch of opening quests in a half hour, that took me hours when I first started playing. I got up to level 41 now. Dunno if I wanna do playthrough 2 though, after I 'beat" a game it usually feels pointless playing it again. Maybe I'll try doing a different character.

Have a volcanic sniper which has yet to dissapoitn, running through old haven 1 shotting badmutha wardens is getting really fun ^_^. Got a shotgun which regens a shot everytime it fires making it never use up ammo. Im lvl 49 sniper currently on playthrough 2 in RCE. Hate how "The Dove" was downgraded in rarity. Some quests are actually being skipped by the game I think. I can't pick up the fresh fish quest and thee quest where you destroy those boats.

I regenerate ammunition faster than I can burn it thanks to a class mod that gives me +17 ammo regenerate. That and a level 8 stockpile skill means that I literally never have less than 75% ammo, and thats after burning through 120 round clips at spiderant faces for fun. It's ridiculous honestly, I never need to pick up ammo save grenades. My turret also regenerates health, so... I'm almost completely self reliant. As far as speedily destroying things, my weapons have fallen behind in level so I'm waiting for another super destructo mega-machine gun. I do have a volcano sniper that almost makes up for it though.

Got a hellfire SMG and thinking about making a "lawmaker" hunter who mainly uses revolvers, pistols and proximity grenades! Would be putting points into pistol skills of course and, maybe a shotgun. Becuase I AM THE LAW on Pandora! Have you guys done anything weird or funky just to be cool?

Started playing it with my brother in coop today, good fun it is indeed, even better with Skype in the background. We played for about four hours, reaching the Dahl Headlands at about level 20 for my Siren and 19-ish for his Hunter. So far so good, only big trouble we had was with.. Moe and Marley again.

Moe and Marley are real bastards on playthrough one. If you can separate them, great, but they usually roam close enough together to draw attention from the other. At least they leave plenty of little skag whelps around that you can get a second wind on.

We ganged up on the fire spitter first, I'd phase out whenever I got too wounded, recharging my shields and health while I darted off for a bit. Once the fire one is dead the lightning one is a push over. Mad Mel should be easy as well now that there's two of us around. We can just snipe it.

Moe and Marely I found were pushovers on playthrough 2 becuase Moe was roaring fireballs at me 90% of the time. On playthrough 1 I pulled them into badass bruisers, and let the fun begin! ^_^ Also in multiplayer on a xbox(not on live) can you stack 1 of the classes more then once? Like have 3 soldiers or something like that?

Just be aware that their will be stiff weapon competition because certain classes have skills that benefit certain weapons. 3 soldiers will end up fighting over shotguns and assault rifles unless the 3 have picked 3 different specializations.

I have the same trouble finding machine guns. My soldier is built to boost rate of fire, damage, recoil reduction and magazine size so I can do my best Bad Moon Ork impression, but the game tends to give me piles and piles of snipers and shotguns. I found an amazing atlas machine gun at level 19 that had 15 firing rate and a huge reduction in recoil on top of great accuracy and damage. It was absolute murder for about 10 levels, but as the game wore on I didn't find anything better until level 46. I wish I was kidding; the rate of fire, huge magazine and accuracy of the atlas gun put it ahead of every machine gun I found until I had almost finished leveling the character and it was a non issue anyway because of my murder-turret. The newer Vladov machine gun finally meets or exceeds it in enough areas to justify using it over the Atlas, but it still has a lower rate of fire(12 instead of 15) and has about half of the ammo capacity. I still keep the atlas gun around though, just to get that buzz gun effect when metal storm kicks in.
