My regular gaming partner has most of the European early war armies and plays FOW quite alot.
Its not my favorite WW2 system but I decided to get an army done. The only choice left were the Soviets for Barbarossa.
I'll post an army list when Ive got more time, but for now heres the first of many, many tanks! lol

Nice to see some Early War stuff being worked on! The weathering is very nice, and so is the basing. Even though I'm usually not a fan of based tanks, I think it works well here.

Thanks guys.
The tanks are solid resin and come attached to the bases, I wouldnt normaly base them either, but they were nice and cheap! lol
I brought them off Ebay pre-painted and Ive had to repaint them due to the original job being truely horrible! Hense the heavy weathering, Im covering up a multitude of sins on the model and a thick coat that wouldnt come off underneath.
Im at work at the moment, when I get home I'll post a before shot. Automatically Appended Next Post: Ok this is how they looked when bought:
Horrible! lol

So I wanted to make my Battalion Commanders Vehicle stand out and the obvious way to do that is to give his T28 a horse shoe frame Ariel. No one makes a T28 with this on so Ive improvised by cutting up a paper clip and shaping it around the turret:
Looks a bit rough now but hopefully will look better painted. Im going to shape some very small bits of greenstuff around the points where the struts meet the frame.

Hm. It looks a little, well, big. I've seen frames similar done like this for roll cages in less than 15mm, so it is possible. If I see anything I'll link it.
I've tried something similar and I know it's touch due to the tiny size.

It is a little thick but I cant think of anything thiner that would be as strong vs flexible. The plastic coating also makes glueing easier.

Your tanks are much improved from the originals!
For the aerials, maybe you could try a paperclip without the plastic coating? That would make it a bit thinner. It would be harder to glue, admittedly, so maybe attaching it with green stuff would do the trick?

Im going to crack on with it as is for the moment. If it looks crap after painting I'll redo with something thiner.
Also it looks alot less chunky in the flesh.

The good news is, it looks like Battlefront has quite a few Early War releases on the horizon, so it's quite possible you'll be able to pick up some Battlefront T-35s before too long.
As far as the list goes, it looks like a good place to start. I question the use of only 2 guns in your howitzer battery, however. With conscript Russians, it's going to be really difficult to hit anything, as you'll have to re-roll your successful hits with only two guns. It might be better to spend your points elsewhere, or beef up the battery so it's at least four guns (although with Russians, even more would be better if it's possible). Of course, if you're just trying to fill your last 110 points, then it might not be that big of a deal.

I have considered swapping out the AT guns, That might still happen. The AA guns have to stay. With my oppo's priority Stukas they are essential. Played Germans vs Greeks last week,me being the Greeks and the two 40mm Bofors I had did a brilliant job.

You have an EW Greek army? That's AWESOME! The Balkans campaign is one of the parts of EW that I'm most interested in (although admittedly I don't know that much about it yet). I'm really hoping that Battlefront releases a Balkans book or at least some PDF lists online, and I would love it if they'd release some Greek minis.
What miniatures line did you use for your Greek army, and what units did you use besides the 40mm Bofors? PLEASE post painted pics if you have them!

The Two armies belong to my regular gaming partner, he's got German (Incl. Paras for Crete), French, Polish, Dutch, British and Greek. The Greeks used a real mixture of equipment and I had an Infantry Battalion, Anti tank gun platoon, Machine Gun Platoon, Artillery Battery, Mortar platoon and a squadron of light tanks. We give two of the Greeks Infantry Platoons the ambush ability. So its 40mm Bofors for their AA. The Greek army used the German 37mm PaK 36, Polish 75mm Arty, British 3inch Mortars and Vickers Machine Guns.
For tanks they can have FT17s, captured Italian, and their own version of the Vickers light tank (cant remember what its called), French trucks. Greece brought all their Uniforms from Poland so you can use Polish infantry. He would have got most of the stuff from early BF, QRF, Peter pig. The light tanks are from the States and are plastic, I'll have to ask him about those. Next time we play with them I'll take some pictures. Automatically Appended Next Post: Ive had to re do the list. Its been pointed out to me that Ive not paid the 30pts per tank upgrade for T28 "e". Bugger!
Mk2:
Battalion HQ: 1x T28 obr38 60pts
Heavy Tank COY: 5x T35 Heavy Tanks. 445pts
Medium Tank COY: Company HQ: 1x T28 obr38. 3 Platoons of 3x T28 obr38. 535pts
Motostelkovaya COY: 1x Command team. 1x Komissar team. 1x Machine Gun Platoon. 3x Rifle Platoons. 315pts
Brigade Anti Tank gun Platoon: 2x 45mm ATG. Command Team. Kommisar Team. 3x Medium Trucks. 75pts

I have an older Battlefront T-35 and it is a nice model (though it does seem to have gathered some dust since the last time it was in a game!).
I am looking forward to revisiting my Russians when the early war books come out.

Bloody shame I cant get hold of some of those........
I cant see us having any Russians this year mind. Its Poland/France then Western Desert then Russians.
And thats without the late war stuff still being done at the same time.

The update article on the FOW page http://www.flamesofwar.com/hobby.aspx?art_id=1910 does suggest that it will be 2012 before we see the Russian book.
I have been painting a lot of late war Russians for my clubs Bagration campaign so I don't mind a longish break from painting them.

Managed to track down the details for Gaming Models in the US (wasnt easy). They do a T35 that looks better then the QRF one (but not as good as the old BF) and is alot cheaper even allowing for the shipping from the US to the UK. I'll post pictures and review them when they arrive.

AT&T have discontinued internet service to his area so he is in the process of setting up a new website. You can contact him at gamodls@neo.rr.com and he'll send you a price list. I also asked him to send me some pictures of his T35s and he sent 4 from different angles.
You have to be a little careful as some of his stuff is not so good, see this review:
http://jeremy.nandgate.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=68&Itemid=65
But I have been told by various people on the FOW site that his service is good and by and large most of his stuff is OK for the price ($4.00 per vehicle)
Here is his T35:

They listed the armies for the first Early War book in this month's Wargames Illustrated -- I was hoping that there would be at least one Soviet list to fight the Poles but no such luck
