Pretty self explanitory title. With the amount of Imperium themed armies out there, we all know that SM and their fellow humans are the most often seen forces around in the hobby. If you had to see an army played more often, and perhaps a force you've relished to face but havn't had the chance yet, who are they? Im just curious as too the least played force.

Personally I'd like to see more Necron players. I know that their codex is old and force tends to be a bit linear, but it would be good to see a couple more players out there.

I just seem to get flooded by orcs down at my local store. Anything apart from orcs. Or at a push anything apart from orcs in wartrucks (which about 9 out of 10 games seem to be!). I'd like to see more Necrons too - I'm sure we will when the new codex is out!

Any list that is going to give me a drag out fight. So fewer stand and shoot armies and more assault based ones.

Shooting armies are boring. All they do is roll dice.

Nothing is cooler than seeing a guy with a laser pistol and a cracking sword of energy dueling against a superhuman in a ton of armor/demon/giant Bug/massive alien of some sort.

the Heavy Metal(magazine/movie) 80's grim dark sci fi feel of HTH in 40k is what sold me on the game.

Horde Guard, I love playing against horde guard, it's just fun playing against an army that doesn't mind losing 30 plus guys a turn. Pretty much all my games against my friends horde guard have all been close run affairs, my favourite one being when I was tabled aside from two guys left from a tactical squad, an immobilised Dread, and a rhino where he still had two platoons left. On 6th turn I tank shocked him off his objective and won, it was nailbitingly close.

I would want to see more necron players, the store near me has a player for everything exept Necron, Grey Knights, and Witch Hunters. I would also want to see more non-Ork alien players general; most the games I have played have been against Marines and Orks.

Eldar. I know they supposedly aren't that rare, but I've been in the hobby for about a year now and still have yet to play against Eldar of either variety. I've fought everyone else, except for Space Elves.

I would love to face more hordes. Conscript guard, gaunt and ripper swarms, Guardian mobs, and even Ork boyz. Whether I win or lose, I just have fun blowing the crap out of tons of easy to kill infantry. Conversely, I never want to fight Necrons again. They're just dull.

Eldar, however I wouldn't mind giving some of the flavoured Marines a go either.

The fewest seen armies around my FLGS are Eldar, GK, SoB and DE. Any of those would be awesome. Which is a shame because all of those armies are very characterful and absolutely beautiful when painted right.

I'd like to have a crack at Orks or Dark Eldar.

We've got a ton of Eldar in these parts, and maybe a second SoB army soon, but nary a greenskin in sight.

I never get to play against Orks, Eldar, Daemonhunters, Dark Eldar, or Necrons, so any of them would be welcome. Basically, anything that keeps my games from being Space Marine after Space Marine.

Orks actually. Not one person has at ork army at my flgs (that I've seen). Besides, its good fun to gun down loads of infantry (whether or not you eventually get swarmed).

In the Wednesday night 40k league at my local store we actually have a pretty good variety of armies. In the past 3 weeks I've been able to play against Eldar, Chaos Marines, and Tau.

The armies I least enjoy playing against are other Space Wolf armies. To me, it has nothing to do with the list and even if I'm in a tournament or competition I look across the table at my fellow wolf brother and think that we should be clensing the galaxy for Russ and the Emperor together rather than fighting each other!

If I had to settle on playing against just one army, it would be Chaos Marines. It seems like every time I play Chaos Marines, it becomes some epic slug-fest that goes back and forth and always seems to come down to just a few models left on the table trying to win the day.

Black Templars. My most common opponent used to use them a lot, now he really only uses Imperial guard. I HATE IMPERIAL GUARD. (I didn't used to, and i as a matter of fact i was going to start a guard army once. Then the new codex came out.)

Congratulations, your dismissive and conclusory commentary has provided nothing to this discussion or the wider community on whose behalf you arrogantly presume to speak nor does it engage in any meaningful way the remark it lamely targets. But you did manage to gain experience points toward your next level of internet tough guy.

Something along another Horde army. I play Orks and IG, I would think it would be fun to play another horde army though movement would be an outrageous task.

I fought for the Glory of the Emperor, I saw my mates die on the line. Did he say anything, not a frakking thing.

@ Gavo: It's all good until Snikrot and his Kommandos pop out and rip your manticore to shreds.

I've played against most of the Armies but not enough against a single one to say I've seen too many of them. So, for me, I just need to get more games under my belt.

That made me giggle.

I have to say that its a bit more complicated than that, and if you don't go first, chances are you have no manticore to fire between Lootas and Deffkoptas. Not mention 4+ cover saves or 5+ cover saves at worst.

Oh I know, it's just the first time that I faced off against an Ork player he had no idea what he was doing and had a green tide, with no KFF, and my manticore rolled a 6 for the D3 shots. His army whiffed.
And Deffkoptas give me hives, and he just got a ton of them.
