Subject: If you could replace your country's anthem, what would it be with?
Pretty self-explanatory: Link a youtube vid of your favourite piece of music that you'd consider to rival your nation's national anthem!
Starting with the UK:
I'd replace our outdated protestation of love to our hereditary monarch with this little beauty:
I'd want the lyrics changed ofc, they're horribly outdated... As a matter of fact I consider the best version to be that you'll find in most instrumental renditions of Holst's Jupiter, you hear it about half way through... I just picked this particular video because it was the only one I could find that was specifically I Vow to Thee My Country rather than Jupiter in its entirety. This one with lyrics really doesn't sound as emotional.

I am happy to keep the one we have, if anything is 'outdated' its our current generations blinkered selfishness, a generation which considers anything of our culture that does not profit them should be discarded, or worse replaced for something 'trendy'.
God Save the Queen.
n'oublie jamais - It appears I now have to highlight this again.
It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion. By the juice of the brew my thoughts aquire speed, my mind becomes strained, the strain becomes a warning. It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion.

I'd replace the Canadian national anthem with this, just for the heck of it:
Night Watch SM
Kroot Mercenaries W 2 - D 3 - L 1

I agree with that, actually. I was kidding with the Lethal Bizzle tune.
Nearly anything is better than The Star Spangled Banner. Its a horribly unpleasant song. America the Beautiful is one that I hear often discussed as a hypothetical replacement.
Alternatively it should be composed by John Williams.
Life does not cease to be funny when people die any more than it ceases to be serious when people laugh.

I 2nd a motion for Imperial March for the US Anthem.
--The whole concept of government granted and government regulated 'permits' and the accompanying government mandate for government approved firearms 'training' prior to being blessed by government with the privilege to carry arms in a government approved and regulated manner, flies directly in the face of the fundamental right to keep and bear arms.

An elected President is just trendy is it?

But Stompa that music is for militaristic, right wing, Thatcher loving, flag flying, Churchill remembering, politically incorrect, hawkish, reactionaries. I love it, but why do you?

I am both selfish and chaotic. I value self-gratification and control; I want to have things my way, preferably now. At best, I'm entertaining and surprising; at worst, I'm hedonistic and violent.
