Ok, i seem to have gathered that the collective feel that the RP is going to grind to a halt, which i find they normally do after 6-8 pages. Now, im interested in what you guys thought of it? I know some of you feel i made a bad call, so I’d like to hear your opinions please. Any ways i can get better would be cool as well, and also if anyone is interested in a remake.

The remake may or may not be a different town, or in a very different aspect all together (ive been pondering how the weather would affect undead....)

So, please post.

C and C me!

I think It was good, If people had not brought the zombies in so early it would of been better.

Also it went kind of fast I was expecting it to play out longer.

Actually I understand why my character was killed off,I am however disapointed that the Fitzz/Sil mystery never came to a head.

I had quiet a few ideas knocking about as to where to take that whole bit of "drama".

I did have quite a lot of fun playing, and would happily be a part of the next zombie RPG.

It ain't over till I say it's over ghosty. .

It was fun, I enjoyed it.

I think that if you had let us converse with other players for the Choice you gave us and our plans to try and survive
the new obstacle, it would have improved the game and help it last a little longer.

I'm all for a remake, anytime, anywhere.

Too short, IMO. The decision to kill off Fitzz made no sense.

I'll be sure to be in the next one.

Oh, and GES, it certainly is over.

Inside your mind, corrupting the pathways

I have no problem with the zombies being brought in early, however, there was a problem at the start getting everyone playing at the same point in the outbreak... some people were going for a world already turned to zombieland, while others were working right at the start and others in between. A clearer start point would probably help.

I also think that the zombies were ramped in dangerousness a little too quickly. We could have had quite a lot more RP in the opening slow undead phase before bringing in the more evolved zombies. The whole thing ended far too quickly without all that much happening. We were running from place to place as soon as we actually managed to get anywhere, which didn't really help.

By all means keep players on their toes, but it felt too rushed.

I liked the GM "choose what to do" element for the split second reaction. I might have thought of a few more of those over the course of the game, as they were quire fun and added an element of danger and suspense.

Well, I just read ninjas last post in the RPG,nicely played...guess that's all of us gone now.

I have to agree with Silver on the points of a "clear start", as he noted we had characters starting in the midst of a full blown outbreak and others starting in the opening stages.
I also agree that once the gak started to fly,we got overwelmed quite quickly,a bit "slower" pace (not safe/but slower) to begin with, allowing for a bit more character development would have been nice.

Of course we did spend alot of time driving around trying to figure out who was going to do what to whom.
Again I am disapointed in not being able to see the Sil/Fitzz mystery unfold...a bit of a hint,it would have also involved Ninjas Father, and therefore Ninja, and led up to some fairly tense moments (hopefully).

Still I did have fun,and would happily join another zombie game.

Oh,I also have to say nice going "Jewman",your ending would have made "Fitzz" proud.

Yeah, I guessed that ninja would have been involved in the Fitzz/Sil thread. I was thinking up some possible ideas to draw the three of us into some kind of drama when we all met up, but I guess that was not to be.

My basic idea was that since Sil and Fitzz were both obvious "criminal elements",they would both have some sort of ties to ninjas Father, since he was a crime boss, although the overall concept was still in the developmental stage,I was aiming at something along the lines of ninjas Father & Sil being responsible for the time Fitzz was in jail and possibly the death/loss of some one close to him...

I felt that an interesting "hate triangle" could evolve between the 3 characters.

Haha, I was thinking that the Satans and one of the families that Sil had worked for *cough ninja's dad cough* had been involved in a series of conflicts where the Satans had become a pain to the families and so had been hit.

Either that, or the Satans had tried to crash a families party somewhere that Sil had been muscle at, and a big fight had broken out where a couple of people had been killed/arrested so there was bad blood between them.

I wouldn't have put your character in jail in my RP though, as I don't tend to like giving other people's characters lots of background without checking to see if it is OK first

I was also going to have Sil lead the group to a "Family safe house" that he had once guarded a high ranking family member at where he thought they would be safe.

But ah well

I just read over the whole of the RP and it was amazing man.

I'd love to play in the next one, I've got a lot of free time on my hands, and If you check every now and again, I'm literally logged into Dakka 24/7.

So yaa.

In your base, ignoring your logic.

I would like to join in on the next one as well. My critique was in the thread itself after it ended.

There needs to be strict enforcement of the whole "no zombies until ..." rule. If someone breaks it then they should be forced out of the RP, a countdown timer would also work to help keep the zombie release scheduled. If you say "On monday we start" then you can potentially have people at 12:00 am start a zombie invasion.

Karon was smart to end the RP at that time. Personally I wish it would've ended a little bit differently(the whole sil/fitzz story/ what's in the bunker), but it began to dwindle downhill when two people died at once. I think that the GM should be limited to a 1 kill at a time rule to prevent something like that. Nothing ruins an RP quite like an "all of you are dead" post.

Time the special zombie/ hoarde releases to go every two or three days maybe. This should give the RPers a chance to advance story and prepare for the next wave.

The map was a fantastic idea though and made reading and understanding the RP a lot better so I can only imagine that it probably helped play it too.

So to sum it up, you just need timing and that would be a 10 out of 10.

I liked it, it was pretty fun. I was actually looking for it to see what had happened when I found this thread

I'd like to be in the next one as well if possible. I had seen a few of these zombie survivor ones pop up from time to time and I'll admit I was a bit skeptical, but I'm glad I gave it a go.

Ghosty said that he was interested in RP'ing, and if that is the case, I don't mind running the next one.

Though obviously that is up to him if he wants to stay in charge, and if you guys then don't mind a change in DM

It would be on Dakka, but not in general. I've run a few RP's online, and a couple of D&D sessions.

Edit: though as I have said, ghosty just expressed an interest in playing as a survivor, but he also said he had some ideas for the next version of the game, so it is up to him.

Absolutely fantastic. It's not that I would care if it was your first time ever as I have never been DM of anything before.

I just wanted to know if busting of the balls would be okay or not.

OOC: thanks for the constructive critisms, its pretty helpful to see what i did wrong. I see now, that possibly killing 2 people was a mistake, and you guys are of course right, with the delaying of hordes. Its just i was slightly frustrated that every obsticle thrown at you, was shrugged of by driving away at top speed So i tried to slow you down. *shrugs* And as silver stated, ive always wanted to do a zombie rp as a survivor, go against the grain, and not act like survivors in films, but i reasoned to myself, that if i made a character it might not have progressed well. Im glad the map worked, but i was a bit bummed that people didn't stay in town for longer XD all those drawings of boxes, wasted!

There seems to be some interest in making another zombie roleplay, and im all for it - However, i Do have my history GCSE and Biology A level next week, and should probably start revising. *shrugs* ill happily pl,ay a survivor, or GM, but my posts will probably be evening posts, after iv'e revised until my brain is the consistancy of soup...

Who's interested in another then? if theres enough interest, and if i haven't scared everyone off with bad decisions i'll post a thread up this afternoon?

If scarper joins, can we kill off his character first again? especially if its un zombie related death, like slipping on a towel, and braining himself on a toilet?

I did that before, it really hurt, had a scar for yeeeeaaarrrrs.

LOL "scarper woke up and got out of bed he had been drinking the night before and had a splitting headache. As he went down the stairs he tripped on a beer bottle, breaking his neck and leaving him paralysed.

2 days later the zombies broke into his house and fiding him at the bottom of the stairs. It was a long and painful death"

Can you post in here when your going to start to give us a heads up

would you consider it cheap to use the same character, as I really liked that one

Wouldn't surprise me if that manages to happen for real - so many boxes left around from moving...

My only goal for the new thread is NOT to die first. As long as someone else gets munched before I do, I'm happy!

If someone simply vanishes for ages then maybe they should get comedic deaths.

I can just see it

Scarp wakes up to the sound of a scream outside, he had heard rumours of the walking dead on the radio the previous night. But they had been reported to be at least a state away. He dismissed it as a bunch of drunks as it seemed impossible for the shambling wave of corpses to walk such a distance so fast. He blamed his crappy apartment, the rent on which was low because of it being in a bad part of town. So this event was not quite rare for him.

He walked into the bathroom, wet towels all over the floor. Again the cheap appartment as the roof had been leaking for about a week. He had called the landlord, but they had laughed and called him a loser over the phone. He decided to have a glance out the window, perhaps the smog would be thin enough to give a nice view of the small square of sky amongst the greyness of cement and the bricks that made up the surrounding buildings. He heard another scream from below and looked down to see what had happened.

He had looked down just in time to see two men rip apart a third. One ripping the guys throat out with his teeth, blood flowing out of the wound. The other pulled off an arm, tendons and fragments of muscel stringing back to the torso before breaking as they were ripped away. The screaming had turned to the sound of drowning and then the victim went limp. Scarp was shocked, gasping for air. He quickly left the window for the toilet. He lifted the lids quickly as he vomitted. Once done he flushed and went back to the window curious to see what had happened next.

The two were still there feasting on the victim as if he was a turkey on thanksgiving. Scarp watched in horror as they ripped off the head, a scene similar to when the arm had been ripped off yet much more horrific to witness. Scarp couldn't help it, he let out a little yell in shock as the tendons, veins and spine snapped off of the head. The two stopped for a moment. They scanned the area above them. One of them noticed Scarp staring out the window. It let out an un-natural scream, muffled by the chunks of flesh still in its mouth. They quickly left.

"Oh F***!" exclaimed Scarp, he had seen enough movies to know what was about to happen. He ran quickly to the front door to make sure the security chain was set and then locked it. He then went for the phone and dialed 911 instantly. The phone was dead, again he blaimed the cheap apartment. He dropped the worthless phone and tried to calm himself down. He had to think of something and freaking out was only making that harder. He looked out of the window at the apartment building next door, the alleyway in between them was narrow he could jump out of the window and in through the one next door if he got a run up. His planning was interrupted by a pounding sound coming from the door. Someone or rather something was hitting it, desperately.

Scarp knew from the movies that this would be the zombies of course so he grabbed his gun and fired at the door. The bullet soared cleanly through the cheap interior door and the knocking stopped. Instead it was replaced by a gasping sound as it became fainter then a thud. Blood trickled under the door. "T..That wasn't one?.... N-no of course it was.." said Scarp, shocked that he may have just killed an innocent person who was in fact desperate to get into his apartment, to escape the zombies.

He quickly returned to panicking, alone in his apartment. He walked over to the door and opened it to check. His fears were correct. A small girl no older than 10 was laying at the door, their face frozen in fear. Scarp quickly slammed the door shut and began pacing the apartment, panic soon overcame him as he tried to figure out how he would get out of this. Suddenly there was more thudding at the door. Scarp, felt slightly better, perhaps the girl was alright and they could all laugh about it later. At least that's what he wanted to believe.

If that was infact the little girl thumping on the door, then there would probably be several of her and they would have all taken steroids. He snapped back to reality, they were obviously the zombies. He raised his gun to the door ready to open fire, but he couldn't pull the trigger. The image of the little girl's face flooded his memory, he couldn't fire at the door. He wouldn't risk making that mistake again. A hand burst through the cheap door followed by a few others. Scarp ran into the bathroom and slammed the door behind him. He grabbed what he could and used that to baracade the door. His options were a toilet brush, some bars of soap, toothbrush, toilet paper... and he wondered why he had run into the bathroom in the first place.

He heard the front door splinter and it was soon followed by more thumping; this timem at the bathroom door. He decided he'd try it, he'd try to jump to the next apartment. What did he have to lose he was dead either way, but this way he at least had a chance. He opened the window as far as it would go and looked for a window to target. Once he had found one he backed up to the opposite wall and was ready to run.

"Now or never I guess" he said to himself. He started to sprint towards the window. Yet he would never see if he could make it to the other building; something he had often thought about on boring saturday mornings. He tripped on one of the towels and tried to regain balance only to slip on the wet towel and instead fall backwards. His head made a sickening cracking sound as it contacted with the toilet.

"F***...." he said as his vision began to dim. He touched the back of his head. His hand came back covered in blood. His legs numb, unconciousness quickly overcame him as the numbness climbed up his body. Paralyzed his head fell to the side to get a clear view of the door. Life left him as the door burst open, his face frozen with fear just as the little girl's had been. He was dead, but only moments later the zombies had reached him. Though he had died, he had suceeded in escaping the zombies.
