I was wondering if anybody has any good ideas for a nurgle lord conversion. I have loads of chaos bitz to make it with but I am unsure sure of which components and/or how much greenstuff modelling should do.

Any ideas?

A Lord in Terminator armour?,Power Armour?
It'll make a bit of a difference as to what bits you could use.

clip off that half skeleton on the icon of nurgle, then glue it to your lords backback. I did it with my slaanesh lord, but it would look cool for a Nurgle lord as well.

Either, but prefably terminator. I might get the terminator lord kit, green stuff some boils and warts and stick on the banner bit from nurgle standard, as suggested.

Ok,well...let's say a Terminator lord then,this will make using bits from the chaos spawn kit easier,as they seem to "fit" better with the Termie lord size wise.

The three faced head bit looks very cool and works well for a Nurgle Lord,as does the fly head bit,plus there are an abundance of tentacles and organic spikes that would also look very good.

a scythe would look nasty on a nurgle lord.

Terminator lord, huh? Use typhus and convert him up a bit. It'll save you loads of time putting cracks in the armour and pustules.

Exactly,even though the Typhus model is good conversion fodder it lacks the uniqueness of a customized Lord.

Not if you take it so far away from the Typhus Model that you need to tell people it's him. The Question is; do you have the ability, the resources, and the time to take it that far?

I've found a cool technique for nurgle..

Okay, so: Drill a hole with the pin vice of any size
Take a VERY small piece of GS.
Stick the top of the GS into the hole you made.
Gently pull the GS down.
You should have a cool little hole with slime oozing out of it.

You can make them whatever size of shape you want. I've had a lot of fun doing this on my unit of Cleaved.

True,I recall an old article in WD many years ago in which one of the 'eavy metal team attempted a Typhus conversion,while the resulting conversion did look good,it was still obviously a Typhus mini,and IIRC did present the modeler a few challenges.

Svartmetall is one of the best nurgle converter I have ever seen. His work was a big inspiration to me when I made my nurgle army.

Nurgle lord aye? My first thought was have him actually bursting out of his power armoured body mid "birth" if you will. Have the gigantic corpulent body spilling forth from his original form that is being torn apart from his massive form becoming infused with chaos.

Of course I then realised i was thinking of a greater demon not a chaos lord so how about the lord bursting from some sort of egg sac like construct?

I'm no chaos player so what do i know? Ideas there for the taking.

That is really cool. I will definitely use some of those tips. I'm also going to use a scythe like suggested and i'm going to make some nurglings coming out of his armour.

wow just wow i almost wanna give up on my slaneesh and do nurgle

I've always liked Scythes on my Nurgle characters.

Hence the one I converted up using the Forge World Death guard bodies.

I'll have to try that out,I used the scythe from the WHFB zombie box for my power armoured Death Guard lord,and scratch built the others with plasticard,rod and green stuff,but I love how the one you've done looks.

I used a simular back pack idea for my plague marine champ, exept i used the rest of the nurgle symbol to make him a shield of sorts.

Bad angle, but the other angles dont want to load into dakka

That was in White Dwarf. Anyway, it said it was a death guard champion not a lord. Are you sure that is yours?

the original build and paint was up on Coolmini a year or two ago, then later in White Dwarf...

it's his work, and it is freakin' awesome!!!
