Hey Dakka,
Perhaps not the most on-topic of posts but hey, this is the only forum I regularly post on... Do you guys ever find yourselves talking to yourself or going in to short bursts of what can only be described as non-realistic experiences? I'll try describe the latter concept in a sec.
I frequently find myself sometimes just feeling a little faint/dizzy and inevitably spouting words to myself, usually insults or just simple conversation... as well as that I find that if I stand up after sitting down for a while or otherwise get into a situation where my head feels a little flustered, I can lose my grip and sometimes feel like I am not actually in our universe. At other times I suddenly think "Wow, I can't believe that happened!", usually about events like 9/11.. that is to say, I forget the impact of certain concepts/events, take them in and analyse them and find myself suddenly getting shocked.
Now, my friends think I am strange when I talk about this stuff, but part of me is convinced that, in isolation (as I so frequently am in) human-beings will talk to themselves or at least have out-of-body experiences. I guess I'd attribute it to my highly over-active imagination, I'm definitely an escapist at heart (hence my love of 40k).
As for Warhammer, once I got up and felt quite tired and spent about ten seconds looking for my imaginary power armour because I needed to get dressed... Automatically Appended Next Post: To be honest, I guess I'm just eccentric.

Just saying its like baseball. If you don't talk to yourself you are going to have long quite 10 minute sessions.
But I do talk to myself only to clear my thoughts.

Constantly
Mainly just saying thoughts out loud. I find it easier to focus on something if I'm talking about it or writing about it, so it usually winds up me just talking to thin air about some idea I'm having at the moment.
Then of course there's the usual screaming at the video game, but everybody does that.

It really depends on what you mean by 'talk'. I have certainly had spoken conversations with myself, it is interesting to compare it to conversations with others.
Most of the time my head is just full of randomness, much like everyone else. While I can focus on one thing, my brain simply doesn't give a snap what I am focusing on. It thinks past what I am thinking about. Even in my clearest moments it would be ridiculous to suggest that some form of conversation is not taking place in my mind.
Maybe I'm thinking about a conversation from two years ago, maybe I'm thinking about boobs. Perhaps, I am thinking about a conversation from two years ago about boobs. It is all very deep stuff, you wouldn't understand.

I speak to myself in preparation for a conversation, or to take the place of a conversation I know I'll probably never have. I have absolutely awful conversational skills, and I'm generally a very socially awkward person. I stutter, mumble, skip over words completely, speak my thoughts without even meaning to, and make random noises in the place of words without even realizing that I'm doing so. Preparing for a conversation that I know I'll have to partake in soon is necessary to keep all this to a minimum. Or, I can take certain drugs before I enter a social environment. That always helps, though it's probably part of the reason I wound up with this incredible social aptitude.
'At least have out-of-body experiences' is a strange thing to suggest; it's as if you consider that the minimum eccentricity. I, personally, can't have out-of-body experiences without the aid of hallucinogenic drugs, so consider yourself lucky. I can certainly become lost in my thoughts and forget where I am or what I'm doing, but I hardly think that qualifies.

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made. |

Yea this is exactly how I do it. Ill talk to the trash cans if they smell bad, while taking them to the curb. I talk to minis while painting them. And same thing with just thoughts, they pop out, I have a laugh.
