Subject: So who else is going to see the "Owl movie"?
I'm pretty excited myself, but then Watership Down has been my favorite book since childhood, and this is the exact same kind of story (anthropomorphic adventure focusing on a single species of animal).
eaven though i think that the book is somewhat cruel in parts it is a good book, a classic one at that.
as i recall there was a tv series (mid ´80s?) done...
That movie looks super lame... every time I see what I assume is the main character all I can think of is this -
and I shutter.... Don't get me wrong, I loved LOTR books and movies, but Elijah Wood always looked so pouty and teary-eyed - and, I guess I can now say, owl-like......
Minnesota, land of 10,000 Lakes and 10,000,000,000 Mosquitos
I probably won't, but the trailer makes it look pretty epic (well, what trailer doesn't to be honest?). I can't safely say that I'm not a fan of anthropomorphic movies/books and such, because I'm a huge Disney fan thanks to the Kingdom Hearts series.
My Armies:
Kal'reia Sept Tau - Farsight Sympathizers Da Great Looted Waaagh! The Court of the Wolf Lords
I like the visuals that i've seen from the trailers, so I am kind of interested. I haven't read the books, so I can only go by what one of my friends who is obsessed with the series has told me. I will likely wait until it comes out on Netflix and watch it then.

Heh, I had that on my Amiga. Was it called Psygnosis or something?
EDIT - No, it was Agony, and the company was Psygnosis. Oh the memories are coming back now.

“We may observe that the government in a civilized country is much more expensive than in a barbarous one; and when we say that one government is more expensive than another, it is the same as if we said that that one country is farther advanced in improvement than another. To say that the government is expensive and the people not oppressed is to say that the people are rich.”
Adam Smith, who must have been some kind of leftie or something.

Good to see some positive posts! As for the kiddos hating on this movie- once you're old enough you won't care what people think so much... "lowl" and all!
Going to see an epic movie like this is the kind of thing you can do when you're my age (Not old, but not young...)
I loved the movie "9" as well- epic adventure, told through some non-human characters. Unfortunately the ending made little sense...
Anyway, will update once I've seen it! I do hope it's good since I'm choosing it over "The Town" and "The Social Network", the first of which looked excellent, and the second intruiged me...

I didn't actually know anything about this movie until I saw your thread. Guess I'm a bit out of touch. But I have to say that Watership Down was an amazing movie, so I think this may be my cup of tea. As a child I found it really compelling. Another old movie you may be interested in is Tarka the Otter. Heart breaking.

I might still be a little stoned from last night, but does that game music make you feel like that owl shooting those single-framed fish is really brutal somehow? And when it dies it goes to pieces O_O
I totally want to see this movie! I loved Delgo and it seems in a similar vein.
