Thanks a lot, Shyamalan.
How'd he rope you into that? Fake name?

Honestly, it's likely to be better than being dragged to 'You Again'....ughhn....

This is a little story about four people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody.
There was an important job to be done and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it.
Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it.
Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody's job.
Everybody thought that Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn't do it.
It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done.

Well we saw it, the kids loved it. I thought it was a good movie. Not blown away or anything. The animation was really good though. The story was fairly generic. I was hoping for something different and new. Ya... ya, I know, no one has done owls before. But teenager leaving home, seeking the heros on some quest, to fight the evil bad guy has been done to death.
Of course it's new for the kiddies so it was worth it for them.... I guess.

I saw it, too, and here's what I'd give it:
Action / Owl Aerial Combat: A (Slow motion steel talon dodge/strike ftw!!)
Storyline: C (see generalgrog's comment above)
Overall: B
Not bad, and it was a beautifully done movie. I thought the same about Avatar- was very glad to have seen it, but plot wasn't the reason...
Very empty in our theater, though! It probably won't do too well numbers-wise :-/

That is pretty much what I would have expected.
So it will be good fun to go and see with my daughter
Did you see it in 3D btw?
Never seen a 3D movie except for Corialine on DVD
I wear specs so how do those viewer things work?

Yes.. we went to the 3d version.
To be honest, the only 3d movie that I have seen that I thought was worth it was Avatar. I recommend saving your money and seeing this in 2d.

I liked the 3D, I think it was worth it for this movie. There have been others I've seen in 3D that were not as worth it- but it's true that it's not as good in that department as Avatar (which is probably the gold standard!).
You wear glasses for it, so I'm not sure how the glasses-on-glasses thing would work, though...
And Murray, that's what I got from the ending, too- I just wish it was a little more connected with the rest of the movie. I didn't see the mechanism really doing anything to affect the rain, so that was my deal...

Could hardly see the screen watching a DVD with those specs and without my prescription glasses
The smaller local cinema won't carry the 3D version but there is a chance that we will have to go further afield where it will be.
As an aside, I just had to stop typing as I couldn't find the "I" key. Ironically discussing poor eyesight!
Turned out that there was a tiny bit of white fluff turning the I into a J
Thought my eyes were playing weird tricks
