Curious about the breakdown of faction popularity. I know that many of us own multiple armies, so just enter your most played/skilled faction. Another way to think about this question would be... If you were going to a major tournament, which one of the factions you own would you bring? Poll open till approximately November 1, 2010

Going to leave the Hordes: Minions stuff out of the poll for the time being... As they're not really a faction, and the Forces of Minions book is not out yet.

I voted Trolls, as I've been playing Trolls as my primary competitive faction. However, my main factions are Trolls, Cygnar, and Protectorate. I wasn't terribly impressed with my performance with Trolls at Gen Con this year, so I may switch back to playing my Cygnar or Protectorate, we'll have to see.

Cryx is my main. I think I have over 150pts worth.

But I also have....Merc Pirates, Cygnar, a Garryth Ret force, Trollbloods, the Battlebox for Khador, and I will probably end up with both Pigs and Gators.

For competitive play... at the moment, Protectorate.

For casual play... hoo boy. Due to the forces available to me at the moment, switching up to something else is easy.

150+ Khador (first army)
150+ Cryx (second army)
150+ Protectorate (third army)
150+ Mercenaries (fourth army)
50+ Everblight (fifth army)
150+ Cygnar (sixth army*)

*These armies is the only one to receive MKII model upgrades... the rest of them are stuck mostly with Superiority Era models.

They all have pretty much equal historical play time (except Mercs) - To give an indication of how much play-time each army received: Each faction other than Mercs/Everblight has one (MK1) season of league play with the exception of Menoth, which has 2 seasons. MK1 Everblight saw almost exclusively tournament play for two playing seasons. MKI coins have been earned for all WM factions (+Everblight) except Cygnar (army hadn't been bought at the time) and Mercs were purchased just before I had to move away from my normal play group due to work. The Khador one was especially hard to earn due to the huge number of skilled Khador players in my group at the time, and I only managed to get it after trying on and off for 18 months.

Cryx and only Cryx. I've got about 170 points atm.

I started with Cryx (admittedly just 3 months ago) so I only have Cryx to play with. Roughly 50 points, multiple casters. (how do you calculate casters for the purpose of adding up your owned points? Do you use their WJ points?)

I plan to expand and also to start Khador. Eventually I'll begin a Hordes army, in which case I'll start Legion and then probably Trolls. (see a pattern in my meta choices? )

Gotta be the Ret. Started with Ravyn and as much fun as the rest of the batch are, the Eternal Light will always be my girl.

Currently have enough to go to a steamroller with a pair of solid 50pt lists. Looking at being able to do multicaster/75+ pt, but frankly it requires investing is things I'll never use outside of that format (incidentally the reason why I generally don't bother with tiers; when the hell am I ever going to use 3 MHSF UAs outside of a Ravyn theme list?)

First army: Circle @ 180+ points
Second army: Cryx @ 140+ points
Third army: Trollbloods @ 35 points

Not including Warlocks/Warcasters and Minions/Mercs

Right now? I'm playing mainly Khador. Cygnar is my biggest though with a 35 point Retribution on the side.

Points? I hesitate to count. Again.

79 points of Trolls, all Warlocks but eDoom

Accurate count: 898 points, spread along all those factions.

Wow! The results are considerably different then what I expected. I thought everybody and their families played Khador, but I guess not! One third of Dakka's player base thus far plays Cryx... Holy undead plague Batman!

Cryx, followed by Circle Orboros then Four Star Mercenaries.

Cryx: 234 inc. all Warcasters except Venethrax.
Circle Orboros: 167 inc. all Warlocks.
Four Star: 134 inc. P & E Magnus, Fiona, Bart & McBain.
Minions: 23 not inc. Four Star minions.

I'm currently on the fence about making a Blindwater force. I have 28 points of models but no Warlock or Warbeasts.

I play Cygnar, Circle Orboros, and Mercenaries.

Cygnar for WM,only really got into it 4 months ago and i plan a Skorne force for Hordes.

The Protectorate is my main army and I have at least one of every model out currently and almost every merc that can work for them. I voted them as my "main" as they're my biggest faction, yet I've been playing my Legion force much more recently. I have almost everything release for Legion, just a few small things to fill in here and there.

And I really want to start a Ret army to be my main WM force.

Maybe the poll should be what armies do you play. Now I just gave my first (and biggest) army as that gives me most options. (guess which one )

Alright, I think it's clear. There needs to be more Hordes players.

I know WarMachine came out first, but the discrepency between WM and H players is quite large! I wonder why there are so many more WarMachine player than Hordes? Any ideas?

None of the Hordes armies really appeal to me honestly. The ones I like the story behind Legion being dragonspawn, but I don't like the models. Circle has zero appeal to me as I'm not into weres or Druids. Skorne kinda does but again, not wild about the figs. Seems everyone around here has a troll army and again, not very appealing.
