I know there are people who believe that Garviel Loken died on Istvan and others(myself included that do not) so i was looking at the release of the Garro audio books on BL and decided hey lets see what garro looks like. so I clicked and I was like yeah he's awsum. I then clicked the second Garro cd and it startled me. At first I thought it was a Fail because the marine on the cover has the colours and emblems of the Luna wolves and Garro is a death guard so I was like wait what?

Went back analized the armour and it's nothing like the other marines I then looked at the background of the second Garro CD and it seems to be on a planet that just got the heck blown outta it coupled with the amount of rubble on the ground this leads me to believe the marine in question is none other than Garviel Loken. what do you guys think? I am i right? Is there something I'm missing? Is this just an art failure on BL's part like with False Gods and Horus rising(the covers make no sense because HR has sons of horus and FG has luna wolves but in FG they had become sons of horus)

The 1st audio book I looked at was this one(with Straight arrow Garro)

First off there isn't actually a screw up on the covers of HR and FG, both show Luna Wolves, as certain Luna Wolves were known to have the Eye of Horus on they before they became the Sons of Horus, secondly they are an off Grey Color on the cover of HR if they were the Sons of Horus at that time their armor would be a pale greenish color. Pictured here;



Now on to the matter of the Luna Wolf on the cover of the Second Audio book it could in fact be Iacton Qruze or any number of the Sons of Horus that escaped with him to the Eisenstein prior to the attack at Isstvan III. Remember that upon arrival to Luna Qruze and his Marines repainted their armor in the colours of the Luna Wolves, Loken who would have been on Isstvan III for the fighting would, most likely have not had a chance to repaint their armor had they survived the battle.

The marine on the second audio book looks a bit too young to be the half heard. The half heard is ancient even by marine standards.

Yeah he does look too young to be Qruze, It possible it could be Loken.
Also there weren't any more Luna Wolves that came with Qruze back to Luna, he was the only one, otherwise the fight on the embarcation deck would have been a hell of a lot easier.

One thing that probably disuades me in thinking it is Loken is that he is carrying a chainsword which Loken didnt use.
But then again he could have just picked it up.

I cant remeber him using a chainsword, but then again I havent read the first 3 novels in about a year.

nope. He only ever used a chainsword. Only high commanders like Tarvis, Little Horus and Abbadon used it.
Loken highly favored chainswords. He was the best. He could of beat Abbadon if it wasn't for that damn titan...

He did kill that Deamon in the first book with a short sword.

The dude is dead.
He got the death he wanted (fighting the emperors enemies), at least he didnt die in some skirmish off at the edge of space.
If he lives it will devalue what happened to the loyalists.

I dunno if it would. I mean it wasn't just Loken fighting, there were hundreds of loyalists fighting. Tarvits died and Torgaddon, they were just as loyal as Loken.

Yep. and Loken should die as well. While i wanted them all to live, what i liked was that they all realised they were doomed, but fought to the death. It was a real last stand.
