You're making me wish I collected Chaos:

It'd be awesome to try to model that moment in one of the Ultramarines stories where an Assault Squad is captured and one of them mounted on a rack on the front of a Rhino: They spread his entrails out in the shape of angelic wings and keep the guy alive through it all

You could easily do that with a marine too, since you'd just not mount the front chestplate, do that gore method in the hollow space and maybe model some ribs and individual organs

Its the First book in the Ultramarines omnibus. Might even be before the first book, its been awhile. In case you needed a more graphic description.

So what's the consistency like after it dries? Is it pretty solid--where you could put it on a model and it harden and stay put...because I would think--maybe wrongly--that it wouldn't harden well.

IIRC, it is in the Space Marine codex under the title of Ideaus' Last Comand.

Yeh it dries really well, mines as hard as plastic, the gore in the pic was the first go I had at doing it and i've cut it of the primer lid and it is now portable so I use it on my gaming board as part of the scenery! You can do straight onto a base as well! I strongly recommend a gloss when it dries, maybe a few coats, to give it a nice gorey moist look and to protect it.

It's been put into the Ultramarines Omnibus as a short story before the first book.

For a mud or blood substitute I was mixing water works or suitable product with a thickening agent ,ie flour and the paint. Dries to a gloss. If you want it a bit shinier than gloss it afterwards. But great work GA!

I throw the small ones back!
