Hey guys
I have been playing against Necrons alot, and i always seem to find that they are really underpriced. they have the same stats as a Space Marine, but that damned WBB rule they get is just...Nasty. I think that warriors are fairly underpriced for the amazing amount of firepower that they can withstand.

Apart from the fact they are I2 so if you get into combat with them you are almost garunteed to win.
And the fact that you only need to kill 75% of the Necron models and you automatically win.
And the fact it's 3rd ed (?) so making it worse is just a bad idea already.
But yeah apart from that go for it.

^This.
Necron warriors specifically can look a little cheap, especially since WBB looks to be only a little worse than Feels No Pain, something generally costing about 30 points per unit. Taken as a whole, however, the army is pretty uncompetitive. They had a chance against the old DE, and Eldar or DH codices, and could do fine against the Tau with the right builds, but throw them in against Imperial Guard, current Blood Angels, Orks, or even Chaos Marines and they're pretty much toast.

If you're going to make that sort of comparison, you really should be more honest about it. They have the same stats as a space marine, except

Necrons with weapons that can glance any vehicle and are marines except I 2 and Ld 10 and add to that WBB are priced about right. Yes glancing hits are less deadly but superior to all base weapons but Tau Pulse weapons in limited circumstances. Add to the fact marines or CSM pay alot more to get FNP and WBB is much better than FNP.
What Necrons need is Fearless as the 5th Ed CC resolution with -1 for every difference to morale test followed by I roll off or die undercuts them too much. Taking fearless casualties is a stiff enough penalty. Between monoliths and orbs, necrons don't have to hang in a fight unless they want to.
The only "fix" I don't want to hear is making them stubborn. That is unless you want about a 33% increase in cost across the board. Necrons should suck in general in CC and making 1 or more penalty armor saves beats the heck out of Initiative-based instant kills.

Don't forget that you'd get FNP as well against the fearless wounds as they're a standard armor save so if you fail it you still get the 4+ FNP save as well. I think stubborn is a much better option and suits them more. Wouldn't be exploited as much either.
Even now with the amount of portaling you can do with the army it doesn't matter because all it takes is 1 round of CC to wipe them out, so porting out isn't an option in that case.
As to the OP with the "necrons cost too little" bit, that's ridiculous to say the least. The smallest list in a standard game that necrons can make is 460 points and that's only 20 warriors and 1 lord, that's slowed.

Hang on in 3/4E a marine was 15pts - now he's 16 but with a pistol, krak and frag grenades (19pts..) so they're 3pts cheaper... free veteran and free missile and flamer (+16) and yes necrons are 'under priced' they have a worse stat line and low initiative.

Necrons and marines have identical stats except for initiative and I believe leadership. At least, the basic warriors do. The Immortals, pariahs, wraiths and destroyers (both kind) have higher stats than marines but still lower initiative (except wraiths) and higher leadership.
Basic warriors are 18 pts and get 0 upgrades except for the extremely crappy disruption fields.

Don't you mean that Necrons are the correct price for their worse statline?
(Although their statline is practically identical)
They don't need to have their price upped, the codex has enough trouble as it is and even in the case of a new codex they would need more options to justify making the cost more.

The one about power.
surely someone who has managed to gain power through cunnning and intelligence is the most qualified to have it whereas a person who has it from being born e.g. a king or queen is most likely the least fit to have it as they could be a complete fool but would still have power.

In some cases I'd actually agree with you. In the context of why that quote was placed in my sig in the first place though I think it made sense.
I'd kind of forgotten it was there, so I'm kind of glad you pointed it out.
Time for a change, I think.

If you're looking for good quotes try Voltaire or Oscar Wilde they have some very good ones.

The only point when we are considered underpriced is when we get our FNP, Fearless and Toughness 5 we deserve, and AP1 v Tanks.

Well, I think this is actually a very valid point. Necron Warriors are rather underpriced for a base model. But, because they have no upgrades available to them, they end up sucking pretty badly. If you fix some of the issues with Necrons and leave the warrior statline the same, I do think they should be increased in points. But, at the current incarnation of Necrons, the warriors are fine with current point values, they maybe could even have their point costs dropped by 1 or 2.
And, Gauss weapons being AP1 vs vehicles is an excellent suggestion! It brings them back to 4th effectiveness (when you had a 1/36 chance of a shot destroying a vehicle)

Considering the formation Necrons fight in anyway (due to the orb), Codex Blood Angels tells us that Fell No Pain for an entire army is worth 50 points.

AP1 against vehicles would be excellent, as this means that the necrons would "regain" their ability to destroy a vehicles when its glanced.
I.e., in 4th a 6 on a glancing hit was a wreck. By making them AP1, the same result can be achieved.
