What is your favorite army to read about dakka? In your comments you can put your least favorite, or what army you actually play and why.

I like to read about the imperial guard. I actually play Tyranids, I love the Aliens feel to the them. My least favorite is dark eldar, they're as shallow as a puddle.

haha described me exactly, except I really dont like ork's. In any game, never have never will.

I personaly like Eldar fluff it is almost a mistery it is long and winding and isnt easly decoded. You need to think about it more. The only one thing that can live up to it is the dark eldar because they have simalire but twisting fluff. But i have to say the eldar are my favorete.

In terms of fluff potential I vote Necrons, but in terms of what is already on the table I may be swayed more towards the Daemons army. They are only as evil as overindulgence is which is a trope that's fairly often used but I think 40K makes it seem much cooler then just dull representation.

Favourite fluff is mostly Imperial, so YAY loyalists , burn the Traitors!

Would like more Fluff about Necrons, as the undead of 40k have a lot of potential.

Well I like the Imperial Guard's fluff the best and after all they've got Caiphas Cain,HERO OF THE IMPERIUM!!! and I like them for being ordinary humans.
I Adeptus Mechanicus had a codex they would be my favorite army.
By the way of SMs my favorites are Raven Guard and Space Wolves.

Tyranids or Guard. I love hordes in the fluff. But not Orks.

Orks. Orksorksorksorks. Orks. Granted, I haven't read any of the BL novels, etc. which might nudge me towards other fluff, but based solely on what can be gleaned from the main rulebook and the codices, I love Ork fluff.

While I love the Alpha Legion the Word Bearers are probably my favorite. Armies led by dark apostles, mass daemons, temples to chaos everywhere, their sheer zealotry. It definitely builds a crazy atmosphere/feeling.

I really like Space Marine fluff, Blood Angels, Black Templar and Space Wolves. I Do like all Imperial stuff tho Guard being second, normal humans killing stuff that's 4x times as strong, faster or tougher then them bravo

i like Space Marine stuff with Grey Knight, Space Wolf, and Salamander stuff being best

The Lion, Dark Angels. Nothing is as deep or as :bleep ed up as their story.

And to this day noone truely knows who among them to trust. . .

The Wanderers a chapter me and a few of my friends came up with. Literally it was the coolest chapter we ever made and plus both of us are Christians so we picked up our bibles and started naming characters. And their color scheme I love it. But my other chapter the Storm Crusaders, Eh their ok. They are completed nothing else to write about apart from a few selected characters. Like Tyrion,
But I love almost every chapter. Except the Ultrasmurfs, and the White Scars, and all of their successor chapters.

I really enjoy the Tau fluff. I wish there were more BL books featuring them.

For Imperials, I enjoy reading the Blood Angels books the most so far.

I had to choose between Orks and Imperial Guards i really love both of there fluffs it's so awesome to read there is so much personality about them. But in the end i had to choose Orks

Thousand Sons have it for me, they just...you know, so many conspiracies and epicness, and of course the whole Ahriman vs Magnus debate, and of course the chance that they may (some) still be loyalist...but that's another debate

I'm a fan of the Raven Guard and Salamanders. They seem more "human" than a lot of the other chapters. They're more concerned about protecting people than pursuing some hidden agenda that only concerns themselves.

The Dark eldar,dark angels,sisters of silence and battle,and last the bird god.For the dark eldar its more about the kabal I made.Which is kabal of drug induced,full cannablistic (they eat other dark eldar body and soul), and has in a crazy Archon.My archon is a trueborn who became a wych and got addicted to combat drugs.He eventually started to feast on his comrades souls thinking it would save them from she who thirst and that eventaully turned into full cannablism.He only allows trueborn incubi as his bodyguard and his dracon and hierach are trueblood.His fluff expands with every battle.

haha I see where your coming from. I said the same thing he did, but I know what you mean. How deep can you get with a race of galaxy destroying aliens? Its true it really is, but I love the epic battles the other races have with 'nids. Lets be truthfull though, the Tyranid codex is almost all from the perspective of the IoM.

Back in 2ed I'd go with Space Marines because they had some actual depth rather than being generic good guys for no real reason (because painful disfiguring surgery, mind scrubbing, brainwashing, and general dehumanisation makes for well-rounded and rational people, amirite?).

So I say Chaos Space Marines, for not being pussies. I like Eldar but mostly they're a case of telling not showing. They'll get described as "the Eldar are mysterious, arcane, cryptic, eldritch, inscrutable [continue until thesaurus runs out of synonyms for 'mysterious'] xenos!" but then have them acting like nothing but slightly snooty humans.
