^ With that being said, the 'Nids could've also consumed that advanced race should it have existed. I'm not talking about these "tiny" scout fleets... I'm saying the massive invasion fleets...

I guess it could be possible, given the nature of the Warp that some poor ship got trapped in a storm, and got spat out a long time ago in a galaxy far far away, or something like that. But there's no fluff to say it has happened at all...

Interesting. That means that the Old Ones were capable of intergalactic travel.
I think it's more than likely that there's life in other Galaxies. The Tyranids, for sure. But who cares about other galaxies when there are known beings in other dimensions?

Here's something to ponder.
They never say how big the war in heaven is. It could span the entire universe not just this galaxy. Maybe the orks were spread everywhere across the universe and this galaxy was the epicenter of the war requiring more specialised races like Eldar.
The orks in the other galaxies don't have the restricting elemetns of mankind or the Eldar and so would have been able to prosper easily.

How do you know that this probe (which is travelling in real space) has reached another galaxy? Far more likely that it's hanging out in the unknown fringes of the Milky Way.

Seeing as the Eldar Empire expanded only a fragment of the Milky Way, it's unlikely that the war expanded any further than that.

Orks prosper on violence. Having no opponents, even considering other orks, would make them 'soft' by any real ork boyz standards.

the probe was at the far reaches of the milky way, but the transmissions were from outside of it. Try to imagine an entire galaxy of orks, always fighting... that would not be soft, our galaxy can barely deal with subsectors worth of Orks

Just because the Eldar empire only streched a part of the milky way doesn't mean that the actual war didn't happen in other galaxies.

Does Chaos and the Warp stretch further than our galaxy. I always though that it was in the Milky Way and the Milky Way alone. Maybe there are other Gods in other galaxies.

I kind of assumed that since the Warp is a parallel dimension it includes all of reality. Just, since the Milky Way is so screwed up, the Gods spend alot of their time messing with us.

the Fluff for the Skull Throne mentions that it is built on the Skulls of untold trillions and that entire galaxies and civilizations are represented therin.
something like that.
that would imply that there are other dimensions or galaxies where Khorne is worshipped.

Wouldn't it be interesting if the Orks outside of the Galaxy remained as Krorks? So instead of hundreds of Waaaghs wandering meaninglessly and bashing stuff, it was a disciplined army of Orks?
Also, how far does the Webway and the warp reach? I think it would be cool if the warp only reaches around the galaxy, and the webway goes further so the Eldar would be able to escape Slaanesh... I know that probably would happen but

the Warp, being an alternate dimension, would be everywhere.
the Webway, however, is an artificial construct and is partly in the Physical realm and partly in the warp. it doesn't extend everywhere like the warp, but rather has the possability to extend everywhere.
imagine the Warp as being a massive ocean with lots of little islands. these islands represent the physical world and all the destinations in it.
the Ocean is full of nasty monsters so the Eldar built millions of bridges connecting all the islands, some of the Bridges are large enough that cities can be build on them.
But only the Eldar can use the Bridges because Humans can't crack the codes to open the gates so they can pass through them and instead Humans have to build Ships to cross the sea.
the Emperor was trying to build his own Bridge to connect to the Eldar Bridges so Humans could get onto the Bridges and wouldn't have to use Ships to cross the ocean because of all the Monsters.

So you're suggesting that Orks are present in the void between galaxies? If not, and you are saying they are sending these messages from another galaxy, then I think you misunderstand exactly how great the distance is between the even the nearest galaxy to the Milky Way is.
Try to imagine an entire galaxy of orks, always fighting... that would not be soft, our galaxy can barely deal with subsectors worth of Orks
Fighting who? Technologically, orks have only been shown to make such advancements when pitted against a foreign enemy, not each other.
Grey Templar wrote:the Fluff for the Skull Throne mentions that it is built on the Skulls of untold trillions and that entire galaxies and civilizations are represented therin.
You'll have to be very precise here and provide the quote where it mentions galaxies.
Grey Templar wrote:the Warp, being an alternate dimension, would be everywhere.
The Warp was originally a construct of the Old Ones as a means of rapid transportation throughout the galaxy. With their absence and failure to provide maintenance it was slowly corrupted and turned into the Realm of Chaos we know is present in the current state of 40k. If the War between the Old ones and the C'tan never expanded further than this galaxy (which makes sense as their is little evidence of C'tan in other galaxies) then it is only rational to conclude that the Realm of the Chaos Gods does not expand beyond the Milky Way (as there is no evidence of Warp stomrs affecting other areas). Automatically Appended Next Post: purplefood wrote:Just because the Eldar empire only streched a part of the milky way doesn't mean that the actual war didn't happen in other galaxies.
Possibly, but there's no evidence to suggest it did. Seeing as Necrons were the foot troops, you'd expect their presence elsewhere as well.

The Necrontyr were a single race stuck to a single planet that watched the Eldar dick around above them. If the C'tan wanted to wage a war over several galaxies, they wouldn't have picked their footman as the race that was stuck to a single planet, and would have instead tried to assert their authority over a galaxy spaning empire.
EDIT: That's right, I'm arguing with the C'tan about how they should have gone around extnguishing all life.
Also, does the term that's being thrown around here 'War in Heaven' refer to the battle between the C'tan and Old ones, or the Civil War with the Eldar Gods?

War in heaven is the war between the Old ones and the C'tan afaik.
The Necrontyr were pissed at the Old Ones who may have spread to other galaxies.
There would have been fighting there as well maybe everyone died.

Wait?
does that open up the possability that Vaul is the Void dragon? mistakenly thought to be a C'tan.
Vaul was getting his postierior haded to him, he lands on a backwater planet called Terra, meets the Emperor there and, in his weakened state, is unable to withstand him and the Emperor locks Vaul up on Mars to keep him safe and in exchange Vaul gives mankind technology.
would make sense, Vaul is the Smith god.
of course it would change a few things about the War in Heaven, but the Fluff is meant to be seen as a possable distortion of actual events.

Self-proclaimed evil Cat-person. Dues Ex Felines
Cato Sicarius, after force feeding Captain Ventris a copy of the Codex Astartes for having the audacity to play Deathwatch, chokes to death on his own D-baggery after finding Calgar assembling his new Eldar army.
