Is there a "tallest"country?

According to the internets the average height is just under 6 foot (1.79m) for Holland and its around 5' 10" for england.

You guys are just tall.

1.82 is 6 foot so you are roughly 6, 2 which is the same height as me

I actually read somewhere that the Netherlands have the tallest or at least some of the tallest people in the whole word, by statistic average. No wonder everyone else seems small.

Yeah I read much the same, Netherlands highest average height in the world. I also read that North America is somewhat of an anomaly in world height as it's average height is declining while the rotw is climbing.

Yeah, or maybe short people just don't post there height. I'm 6'1" and I think taking pride in your height is a fairly shallow and pathetic thing to do, but then that's easy to say when you are tall.

Pfff, I'm 5'7", which is way below German average for males. I'm just slightly larger than your average German woman and was the smallest in high school throughout the whole time. It makes you tough.

I'm 5'8" everyone taller than that is a freak.

Netherlands folks are taller as they start off below sea level in a lot of places, so have to grow taller to survive

Im 5 11, god shafted me on that extra inch. My oldest brother is about 5 9ish and my brother the giant, is 6 6ish and almost just as wide across. Hes a friggin Ogryn I swear.

But here's my question: If I say I'm 6'2", can the Brits here immediately picture what that is? Because if you told me your hight in m or cm, I'd have to think a while, and still not really be sure WTF was going on.

I come from a country that uses the metric system for everything, I still find it hard to use cm to measure height. Feet and inches are the perfect scale for height - because we have a good base step at 6', and then increments that are meaningful but not too chunky - I can see a difference between 6' and 6' 1", but I can't see a difference between 180 and 181 cms.

I don't have a problem with either measure, though I tend to view cm as .4 inches, so its mostly a matter of having memorized the conversion insofar as height is concerned.

Also, I'm 5'9.

Yeah, I'm just under 6' and my two main wargaming friends are both at 5'10"+. I don't think I've ever seen a really, (like under 5'6") guy wargaming.

Holland is a tall country.

You need to be when half your land is under sea level. It's evolution in action.
