I like the new models but I don't think I'll jump on the GK bandwagon. I may however get a box of Terminators and PAGK for conversions and such, I think it would be cool to combine some GK and Sanguinary guard/Death Company bits.

So how about it? got any conversions planned for the new GK models?

I plan on converting my Dreadknight with a venerable dread's front. Other than that, I like the minis. I also plan on converting my own Draigo as I refuse to give GW $23 for a single mini. I've already got a bunch of inquisitors between my Grey Knights and Sisters of Battle army. Also I already have 20 RT era GK terminators, and 20 PAGKs. Pretty set for this release and my wallet thanks me for it.

Thorian Enclave Inquisitorial Guard - 6000points
Grey Knights - 4000pts
Divine Crusaders - 5000pts
Order of the Argent Shroud - 3500pts
Kabal of the Black Heart - 3000pts
Wife's Deathskulls - 4000pts

Going to pick up a GKT box as soon as I can. Some CSMT bits. Some loyalist Term bits to supplement what ive already got in my bits box. Ive got some CSMT, Wolf Guard T and tons of CSM and SM PA parts, along with some Eldar and ork stuff.

Cant say at this point Ive got anything specific planned, just want to gather the parts and see what comes together. Since Im making them for display (or maybe a different game) I can completely ignore the 40k rules and restrictions.

I am curious to know if the GKT torso front mates with the regular Term torso rear...that will help with a chaos-ish conversion or two.

Im looking forward to some dreadknight conversions. Its got some promising parts, I just really hate the Term hanging off the front the way it does. If I can get some good inspiration maybe Ill pick one of those up too. I was thinking maybe a sentinel cockpit in place of the GKT pilot. Something like that.

I'm not really going to convert any but i'll scratchbuild my own draigo, i jst dont like the model... I was going to converte a sentinel to something similar to the dreadnight(before it came out) .

Dreadknight is getting reposed, rebuilt into a big servo-harness weilding penitent engine, sort of.

Paladins are being built from GK parts and bits ive been gathering, I /really/ want to use 10 of the "apothecary" tech-heads from the GK box for them.

normal knights are probably getting random servo adjustments and belt feeds

The Brother-Captain kit looks interesting...well should say sounds interesting. 8 separate parts with a bunch of options. Sounds like like a GK version of the CSM T Lord. Id like to get a peak at its components...might be some good stuff there too.

Wait there is supposed to be a seperate SM Brother Captain? or is it kind of like the Wolf Guard where it's got bits to make a Wolf Lord?

Oh and you know that photoshopped Dreadknight that's been floating around? it does give me ideas for a looted Dreadknight call it like a Deffwalka or maybe use it as a basis for a Megadred

Now that plastic Grey Knight Terminators are coming I'm definitely going to convert some into Thousand Sons Terminators. The Glaive weapons look great. Just chop off those Imperial decorations... paint on a few Hieroglyphics... Hopefully the Thousand Sons heads won't look silly, green stuff should help.

I'm going to run a straight-up GK terminator army (something of a dream of mine ever since I saw the GK terminators back when I started the game) so apart from a Draigo conversion (if there will be one, since I do have stern and he seems pretty good now) I probably wont be converting alot. However I do wanna run an Inquisitorial army led by Cortez, so expect to see some converted ISTs from Cadians from me, as well as a variety of other Inquisitorial units.

I said it in another thread, but now I'm thinking about some kind of uber-pentient engine for a count-as DK in the Inquisitorial army, to migate the fact they have zero "Inquisitorial" heavy support choices.

This mini is just the repackaged brother-captain from the previous metal terminator box-set, nothing new here.

As for the "eight parts", I can already tell you what they are since I have one:

1 leg+torso+head
1 right arm with halberd
1 left arm with storm bolter
5 "shields" the little decoration on the left arm where you paint heraldry

That's it, for conversion purposes you can use arms from the new plastic box set and switch with his.

Although it is nice of them to keep this miniature available (it's my favorite mini of all the range) but the price...

Definitely looking at doing a conversion for the DreadKnight, what I've been doing is getting the bits then having ideas pop into my head the test fit etc.

Also going to try a conversion for the Storm raven and the PAGK's (different heads, non standard weapons, robes etc)

well pretty much doing that iI'e been doing with my current GK's (in sig)

Not planning anything major, my Brother-Captain is getting a wrist-mounted incinerator in place of his stormbolter, and falchions.

Also considering using sanguinary guard winged jump-packs on my interceptors instead of 1960's TV antennae.

Yup.

If they're anything like the current terminators, you can cut away the front of the 'hood' to fit the TS heads perfectly.

...now if only I could bits order Thousand Sons heads...

I know how you feel. For my Interceptors I need to buy a box of Sanguinary guard along with them. £40 per 5 models then. But then I just remember how good a grey knight with a halberd and angel wings will look.

TOTALLY WORTH IT

I think I am going to take the Dreadknight and kit bash it with my current model for my Warmonger dread for my Word Bearers. The current model it probably twice the height of the current dread if not taller than that, hopefully the arms and the feet will work nicely

Yeah, I got to see the Dreadknight in the flesh a few days. They are HUGE.

Personally, I'd love to see an Iron Warriors conversion for it. That's all I could think of with all those big pistons on the legs.

I'm planning on one or two Dreadknight scratch builds making them mostly out of a mk4 dreadnought with expanded arms and legs, able to fit size wise onto a 60mm base that in turn will fit into the scenery on a large oval base (for rules sake) I do not like how large the dreadknight is but I figure at the point I'm at, if I don't like it I better fix it or shut up. I think the larger oval base was overkill for the dreadknight but I figure putting a 60mm inside and useing the rest for scenery isn't a bad idea.

Also looking at useing all the fancyness from two boxes of termies to do a 5 man squad of paladins, I mean if they're elite termies they better look the part.

Another thing I plan on using the knight helms from these kits to start my re design of my Halo Knights (Imperial fists 3rd founding chapter). Always liked the idea of a whole chapter with helmets like these.

Actual GK conversions I plan on magnetizing the hands on my terminators and probably atleast one squad of purifiers to be able to swap arms at needs be.

Still thinking about posing purifiers with one single hand sword and one falcion, I like the sword's look but not it's rules.

Thinking about an interceptor squad with normal backpacks but replace the ball shaped vents with melta gun muzzles like the teleporter in Dawn of War.

Lastly I'm going to carve a small sized ammo drum from GS and then press mold it and use it on all of my PAGK in place of the slowed double sickle.

you should look into a unique bit you can find on thewarstore.com, it's a hooded knight helm from the dark angel's sprue, I've always felt this suited the angels sanguine perfectly.
