Hi everyone,

Im making this blog to keep me motivated on my Dark Angel Project. To kick start this thread I have got 2 tactical squads that i got off Ebay for a grand total of $3.25 AUD!! I also just got some Veterans, you should be seeing some of those.







Some feedback and followers would be nice!!

Ok so after about an hour of painting (excluding drying time) I came up with this....

As I have found simple green at bunnings I will be more inclined to buy Ebay stuff now because I know I can strip them. YAY!
Seeing your test mini it looks very nice. That green looks great. What are you planning on doing with the base?

Yea it was a really good deal. Although the guy I got it from wasnt too happy at getting $3.25 and after it all his prices went up to a $25 Buy it now strting price. Its also going to allow me to buy some other stuff cos I spend the $120 GW wants.

Simple green at Bunnings!! Hmm better check this out. I was lucky with the Ebay models I got because they only had a thin coat of primer on them from one direction.

Those tactical marines look great.

Let me clarify that Simple Green Can only be found at some Bunnings stores. Usually the major ones. I went to eight different Bunnings and only found two that stocked the all purpose cleaner that you need, but I bet you can request the staff to stock some. Also it is found in the cleaning products isle.

Ok cool, one of them is bound tom stock Simple Green!

Just put your Ravenwing on hoverboarda and call your chapter "the green goblins"

But seriously though, I kinda like the fact that they aren't too dark, so are easier to spot on a battlefield. Of course the base plays a big part in that.
I noticed that the models some how look like they are still WIP, because the skulls and aquilas on the weapons haven't been painted. Also if you can, you should add the DA symbol on the shoulderpads.

I just found out that I'm going to my Grandparents house for 5 days, So no hobby time or updates. Atleast theres a reasonable Hobby shop I can get some stuff at

Flying Pooo is right, drill up your gun barrels, or if you don't want to risk it atleast paint them black.

Or you could paprika them or Oregano them too but if FP wants you to Dill them then do it!

sorry, but yes, listen to the man, he's got some great models himself and it'd be a shame for yours to be painted so well and not have the barrels drilled out, I like the colour you used and when you do the chapter symbols they'll be a really nice subtle DA army, I can't wait to see how it looks with the robes painted in your style, it will be great i'm sure! in fact, i'm so sure of it, I've just subbed the thread so i don't miss anything!

For someone who hates painting skin you did it very well! That sergeant and the tactical marine look great.

Its only Denheb Stone washed with Devlan Mud and Ogryn flesh

Thats a good combination! Keep up the great work. I like the light green armor pattern.

WOOT WOOT!! More Dark Angels!! Great start on your army and a great deal . Stick with the original DA and not the successor chapter. As for feed back looks good now and if you have any questions on painting DA let me know

Anyway, I went down to the Hobby shop... And picked up a pin drill. Thinking my dad would have a small enough peice, I didnt get any drill bits. Mistake. He didnt!

The shop also had 50% OFF EVERYTHING!!!! But Sadly My Mother Did Not Allow Me To Buy ANYTHING!!!!

I could have had the whole army bought!!!

brilliant work dude! they look fantastic together! I can't believe the pin vice didn't come with any bits? that's a bit crap eh! :-) if i have a spare one before you get one then let me know and i'll send it to you? anything to keep a fellow hobbyist keen, inspired and working hard on a great looking force!

Those look great! Don't worry about the barrels they will get drilled when they get drilled, it's not too much of a fuss.
