Subject: Dash, Shep, Hulksmash called out on their GK stance?

Hey I saw an "anonymous" poster put up a reply to an article on Capture and Control calling out DashofPepper, Shep, and Hulksmash for what he claims are erroneous views on the new GK codex. I searched through Dakka a bit and couldn't find anything really by any of these guys on the GK that fall into line with what the "anonymous" poster was saying they thought about Dakka Dreads and GK. Anyone care to weigh in with a link to a post etc. about this? It seemed pretty baseless and rude to me. Here is a link to the article in question.
http://captureandcontrol.blogspot.com/2011/03/dread-knights-can-ride-in-storm-ravens.html
Since the article has to do with tactics I put it in this section. Feel free to move it if necessary.

Well, that was a troll comment by an anonymous poster who has no clue what he's talking about. I've never announced any feelings about the GK codex, because I don't know enough about it.

The article appears to deal more with loopholes than actual tactics, if I may add a swift note. Otherwise, dismiss this anon as another bandwagoner or fanboy whom shall immedeatly stop playing GK after realizing their obvious "Outnumbered Able to be ID'd models" flaw is too great to handle.

Quoting the relevant part here because it's a silly article and I see no purpose in directing more traffic toward it...

"Besides... isn't this much ado about nothing? I mean, I thought Rifleman dreads were the only good thing in this book! "
No, only DashofPepper, Shep, and Hulksmash on Dakka think this. They have their heads in the sand and are trying desperately to spread the "GK don't change the Meta" line that it is embarrassing. I have never seen 3 guys dedicated to convincing the world that a meta-breaking codex isn't actually meta-breaking and that the only good thing in the codex is a slightly better version of something good from the SW dex. PATHETIC.

This is clearly an anonymous troll who is taking comments out of context and blowing them way out of proportion.
Edit: Also a person with some lack of rules-fu, as they apparently think that being a Monstrous Creature is the reason an IC can't join an Dreadknight.

@Bryan: While I appreciate the link to our site, this wasn't totally necessary. He is just some guy who always trolls anonymously on our site flaming people left and right so no need to take his comments seriously enough to repost this here.
@Dash: That guy trolls my articles all the time but normally reserves his ire for me. I have been ignoring him for over a year now, my apologies for him trolling you on a site you have nothing to do with.
@Chilipowderkeg: You're right, it wasn't an article about tactics just a preface to a poll about a RAW discrepancy. Maybe this belongs in YMDC instead?
@Mannahim: I am sorry you think the article was silly. It is simply a preface to the poll on the site. I don't actually think the debate about the ruling on the DK becoming JI and losing MC status is silly, there are serious RAW implications there that need to be addressed imo. You're definitely correct about his needing to be more up on the rules about IC joining units etc.

@Dash if you haven't commented on GK then I wonder if Hulksmash or Shep have either. Maybe this guy is just a nutjob.

I haven't read anything about GKs from Hulksmash or Dash but I can say that I have read a couple good and informative battle reports from Shep. I don't think anything I've read in either of those threads would be construed as controversial. If anything they have helped give me a better understanding of how GKs work in a real game.
Honestly I've learned a lot from reading posts from all three of these guys and consider them to offer great advice and insight into the game.

Nah, being that the material codex isn't out yet, I can see it belonging in this thread as a figurehead to discussing how to use this option before one can flaunt the new and shiny book infront of others.
When it actually comes out and leads to more people facing it in confusion, then will it be apropriate to post in YMDC.
Albeit, since this thread really is about the Dakkanauts mentioned in the title rather than the material of the article itself I do beleive this needs to be moved to the 40k or Dakka Disscusion subforum.

I really hope that the meta shifts more towards foot lists (recent old SM chapter hotfixes, GK Termie troop slots, ect.) as we need more slogging lists. Too many darned mechs for my taste.

I played a guy 3 days go against his new GKs - footlists. He conceded on turn 4 to me.
I still think the GK codex would be better mechanized than foot.

Dangit if "the meta" shifts back to foot lists, I'm going to have to go mech; I run Foot lists currently just to fight the Meta.

It's been my experience, since starting Capture and Control, that the amount of well vocalized idiocy on the internet is astounding
I am not so sure about the GK being overpowered. When it comes down to it they are still just Space Marines and die the same way. That's the strategy I am going to start off with against them anyway and build from there.

I often wonder if 5th edition has brought in an influx of less then useful people as (this might just be my experience) I don't recall as many...angry...people in 3rd and 4th edition. Seems like there are always a ton of people really worked up over this hobby. Makes me giggle how much people freak out and cry overpowered with every new codex that comes out. I hope in 6th edition everything gets a giant nerf then people can scream under-powered when a new codex comes out

As far as I know the warhammer online community has always been pretty angry. Way back in the day rec.games.miniatures.warhammer was a notorious flame pit and even in late 3rd when I started paying attention to the hobby there was an impressive amount of screaming about various things. Back then the topics of choice were screening, the trial assault rules, and omg Necrons are unbeatable. I have been experiencing growing frustration at the caliber of online discussion leading to me cyclically burning out on forums but I've mainly attributed that to me getting older.

There's always been pretty much the same amount of anger and silliness. You just learn to filter out the crap.
I think there has been a general increase in the total amount of illiteracy and ignorance on the internet overall since the 90s, just because a higher percentage of the general populace is online now, including more kids and uneducated ignoramuses.
