May i ask how you got the black outlines? Did you painstakingly highlight them or do something else? Awesome work, it looks to me very 'Borderlands' with the black outlines, awesome!

Now that I'm done wetting myself... That is indeed tentacle-y. I apologise for the initial hyperbole, but a super sized venomthrope, but better, is worthy of an impromptu shout or two.

You're nids are such a breath of fresh air , bright but cool looking whereas most players take the grimdark and weather and darken and wash the nice-ness out of there models.

i like the dark and realistic scheme but i really love your cell shaded work.

I was thinking of running it as a Trygon with one set of Scything talons, lash whips and ripper tentacles (as per mycetic spore weapon).

I would also swap out some of the Trygon rules for the Marloc rules. The end product would be as follows:

Instinctive Behaviour - Feed
Deep Strike
Fearless
Fleet
Burrow
Terror from the Deep

I was toying with the idea of adding a special rule as follows:

Constrict.

Once the Maw-Fiend has overcome its prey it will coil its tentacles around the unfortunate victims and crush them for ease of digestion. All unsaved wounds caused by the Maw-Fiend inflict instant death.

Points wise I was thinking 220 ish

What if for the constrict rule, unsaved wounds caused a strength test, if failed, insatadead?

That paintjob makes it look like something out of Champions Online. Not a bad thing, just not what I would expect. Still, you did a real nice job and the pink/purple against greyscale does make the model vibrant. Nice job with the green accents, too.

Whalemusic360, good idea. It’s a bit overpowered otherwise. I will test it on Thursday and let you know how it goes (assuming it does not get shot to pieces as soon as it arrives).

It's absolutely gorgeous, but it kind of hurts my eyes at the same time. I'd love to see a whole army of those beasts lined up across the table, but to be honest it'd probably trigger a seizure.

I love the really subtle shading on the carapace as well. It really adds a gentle depth that contrasts nicely with the cel-shaded look. And the base is well done, also! Again, the natural rocks make the cartoony flesh really pop.

However, I do see at least three "arms" that end in mouths that are shamefully tentacleless. I'm disappointed.

Fantastic looking models, reminds me of almost comic book drawing, with very vivid colors and uncommon base colors for tyranids.
