Crimson Fists all the way.

Blood Angels (specifically Knights of Blood).

They remind me of myself. Always sticking my nose into something where it doesn't belong. I am the guy that people do not like to show up because I can be irritating. Knights of Blood fit me rather well. Renegades all the way.

The space wolves were my first army so always have been my first love! the fluff and background are excellent and the imagery is great, I find the escapism is a big part of the hobby for me so I am also a massive fan of the Crimson fists, one of the best chapters out there, and now i'm doing my blog on the Marines Exemplar I obviously am liking them heaps too, good fluff albeit mot enough details but good opportunity to flesh it out myself.

With all the other special Space Marine chapters (eg. Blood angels ) vanilla marines seem weak

I like playing my Vanilla marines the most, but I don't play a specific chapter (I painted them blazing orange, just to be obnoxious). Of the established marines, I like the grey knights best. Not a bandwagoner either, all my models are the old metal ones except for one box of the new guys. Sucks that I have mostly halberds, but I'm willing to pay the premium considering how many points more I paid for worse models last codex.

I love the Vanilla - Salamanders being my favorite.

Personally i lie both grey knights and blood angels, i think they are both very rewarding and great for overwelming them with relitively few units.

Black Templars. 10,000 year long Crusade and simple but awesome looking armour.

Fire Hawks. They're the epitome of a cursed 21st founding chapter. Also, their colour scheme is something different. And the legion of the damned originated from them.

White Scars. Gotta love those mustaches.

Grey Knights for the win. An army full of phsycic marines. How fun is that?

I'm suprised Chaos s on the list, but I definatly pick Chaos Space Marines. Death to the Flase Emperor!

They got whacked proper by the Tyranids so I like 'em in a down but not out kinda way!!!
Mind you, I do tend to lose a fair bit when playing a fluff reliant and scouts heavy battle group...

I've always been suspicious of the Mars Mechanicus' Machine God thing and how it conflicts with the Imperial cult. So when I read about the Moriae Schism in FW's Imperial Armor vol 9 and 10, that really stuck out to me. I liked the look of them before and now with the new information about their background the 'Son's of Medusa' (Medusa is the home world of the Iron Hands), were for me. A force that wouldn't die out but instead thrived to become the only recognized into being an official chapter, rather than being created into being one. Plenty of Apothocaries and they handle their own tech needs very well in spite of their split with the Adeptus Mechanicus over prophecy and dogma.

If I were to make another choice for a close second it would be the Raptors. Maybe there is a pattern here...? Raptors are another chapter that refuse to die out and are loyal but also bucking the system.
To the Raptors the Codex Astartes is a highly effective and proven set of strategic and operational guidelines, but not held as inviolable dogma to be obeyed without question.
