So... Uh... What are GSCEs? Are they SATs, ACTs, MCAS (State test), Placement tests, or just a report card?

GCSEs are exams taken at the age of 15. Grades C or above in Maths and English are needed to go onto A Level. Higher grades are needed for specific subjects, so if you wanted to study A Level Physics, you'd typically need an AA in Double Science.
And before you ask, A Level passes are needed for University. So I guess A Levels are our equivalent of SATs.

English Language - B
English Literature (No! That poem does NOT signify ____, you are looking for something that isn't f***ing there!) - C
Double Science - B (One mark off an A)
Maths - C
IT - C (Teacher hated me, it's REALLY hard to work when someone sees you as a liability, sits you in the corner away from everyone else and ignores your questions - I wish I could rub my IT qualifications in his face right now)
Geology - B (Only God knows how...)
Drama - C (So many essays about so much pointless crap.)
German - C
I originally had Food Technology (because my school was gak, and they put Electronics down as an option but decided that they didn't want to do it for that year and only told us at the very last minute), but due to extreme differences between myself and the subject, I managed to drop it after a long battle with the school powers that be. If I had been able to do Electronics, I would've passed with at least a B and i'm damn sure of it.
Bearing in mind that I was (and currently am, although in a lesser stage) battling with severe depression, I think those results are quite good.

Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.

We have AP exams, which are classes that you can take in highschool to get college credit. If you take those you can get a 1(signed your name) to a 5(High A). I got 4's on all 5 of my exams.
My state has SOL's which are state tests for education, I always got 550-600 out of 600 on those.
For my SAT I got 2150 out of 2400, for college they usually look at reading and math only(for example a 1200 total for those two sections is required). For my math and reading I got 1310 combined.
I also got a 9/12 for my writing portion, which isn't bad seeing as though I used the Borne Identity as a source for my argument.
Currently have a 2.61 for a GPA though, which sucks.

I was predicted the best results ever in my school, all As and A*s.
Needless to say I didn't get anywhere near them as I got rather lazy when it came to working, I got
F in Media Studies
E in Religion and Philosophy
Ds in Sociology, Geography and History
Cs in Catering (was put on foundation for the exam due to lack of coursework and got 100%), Art (again, no coursework but my exam piece pulled me up to a C) and English (same story as the other 2 really)
Bs in Double Science (Year 10 results inputted incorrectly, I got 3 A*s however they were recorded as As. And my ISA was put at a C strangely) and Maths
Oh and I got a Pass in ICT (did no work for 2 years and somehow achieved this )

OWLs = O Levels (Ordinary Level).
O Level exams were phased out in 1988, and replaced with GCSEs. Prior to this change, GCSEs had run alongside O Levels, and were regarded as the exams to be taken by non-academic students.
Once O Levels were cancelled, school exam performance began the relentless increase that continues to this day.

Yeah, although like I said in my post they only considered the original two towards a scholarship. A score of 1200 was the minimum for the scholarship(that and a 3.4 GPA), but I was sure that each section was worth a total of 800 points or else I got a perfect score somewhere(600+ for all three areas).

I think (I'd have to double check to be sure) that my math was 560 something, my reading was just over 700, and my writing got around something in the 600's. All I know for sure is that my final score was 1810.
I didn't get no stinking scholarships though. That's what VA benefits are for

We had this one chick score a 2350 or something, it was ridiculous. I didn't get a scholarship either, I had a 3.17 GPA. Stupid 6-point grading scale. We didn't have any B+, C+, etc grades either. It was either an A, B, C, D, or E, stupid grading.
