As a partner to my earlier poll, what is the best tank in the game? This one should be more cut and dry, as I am only including vehicles with the type "tank". I don't own all the codices, so if I miss any please let me know. Same as my previous poll, this is for best all round. Take into consideration armor, survivability (yes this is different from armor), speed, armament, cost, options, and synergy with the rest of the army.

Also, just because a vehicle is type "tank" it may be left off the list. Vehicles considered in this poll must be in the normal FOC. They can not occupy the Dedicated Transport slot, even though some of these vehicles MAY be taken as a dedicated transport. For instance, the land raider makes the list, even though terminators can take it as a dedicated transport, while the rhino is not, cause it can only be taken as a dedicated transport, even though it is type "tank".

The only exception in here is the Ravager. While not a "tank", it fills the same roll as a MBT in the Dark Eldar army, and they would otherwise be left out.

Pretty sure it's the monolith, hands down. High strength blast, near immunity to melta and monsters and CHEAP (in comparison to similar models), A14 and the ability to move MOST units to the monolith to attack again...yuck. It's powerful. VERY VERY powerful.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

Demolisher. There is not much that a pair of demolishers can't bring down, and I really like shoving armour right down the enemies throat.

You know, I had this great idea for a poll, "what is the best tank in the game?" I would call it. I figured there couldn't be that many tanks...an hour later, I finally finished. Wow.

Oh and I voted Hammerhead. Good armor, Great weapon(s), good options, and pretty cheap too.

Leman Russ.

So versatile can do anything you want it too and it can move and fire its ST 8 cannon which is magnificent! and i think a standard LRBT with a lascannon and no sponsons only costs 165 pts, thats fantastic when you consider something like a Chaos dread with a lascannon costs 125 pts!

It's kind of hard to do because this is all in a vacuum. Yeah, a Leman Russ Battle Tank is significantly better than a Razorback, but it's three times as expensive. A monolith is going to come ahead of almost every tank because of its sheer durability, but it still costs a hundred points more than just about anything else.

If I had to answer, I'd say a Leman Russ Demolisher. Whenever people start complaining about how overpowered XYZ is, how unkillable a unit is, or what have you, I just point them towards a Leman Russ Demolisher. Paladins, Thunderwolves, Nobz and Nob bikers, they all die the same.

I'm going to say Demolisher, followed by Manticore.

Demolisher simply because whatever it shoots at evaporates into a red dust.

Leman Russ Battle Tank for its versatility, Leman Russ Demolisher for being the Ghazzy of the Imperial Guard. Just like Ork players can respond to any threat by saying 'punch it with Ghazzy', IG players can say 'shoot it with a Demolisher'.

Monolith is really the only thing that keeps my Necrons in the game anymore.

Imagine the current Necron codex without it... not much redeeming left.

Being that vital to an army meas it gets my vote. Other armies have good tanks but they could easily be subbed out for another and still be effective. Lith is the only one I see that absolutely holds a codex together. (Admittedly just barley holds the codex together)

Land Raider with lascannons and heavy bolters. You know, the schizophrenic tank that can't decide if it wants to be a transport, a backfield tank hunter, or medium range gun platform.

I'm big on the monolith, but I went with the hydra. It can't handle everything in the game (or even necessarily ALL that many things all that well), but it's got the best bang for the buck of everything there.

HS choices exist for no reason but to kill stuff. The hydra is probably the most efficient of everything on there.
