BBC News wrote:Eighteen birds beheaded in Wythenshawe Park, Manchester

Eighteen birds have been beheaded, a frog speared, fish poisoned and 130 windows smashed at a Manchester park.

The vandals broke into the aviary in Wythenshawe Park between 1630 BST on Saturday and 1000 BST on Sunday.

After beheading the birds, they threw the carcasses around. They then filled a pond with fertiliser, killing the carp. They also chopped down trees.

Greater Manchester Police said they believed more than £10,000 of damage had been caused.

'Sickening act'

Pc Terina Wild, of Greater Manchester Police, said: "The level of vandalism and cruelty shown by the offenders is shocking and distressing.

"This is an extremely serious offence and I would ask the community to help me identify the culprits.

"Did someone you know come home with filthy clothing or were they acting strangely?

"If you know who is responsible, but didn't get involved at the time, please come forward."

She added: "This is an appalling crime which has affected a community facility and the offenders need to be brought to justice."

Councillor Mike Amesbury, Manchester City Council's executive member for culture and leisure, said: "This is a sickening act of cruelty and vandalism, causing significant damage to a centre which has been enjoyed by generations of people.

"I know that everything possible is being done to catch those responsible for this appalling crime and bring them to justice."

In direct contrast to the thread awarding the courage of Brits and/or people fighting for us, this article shows how horrificly sadistic and unnecessarily violent people can be.

The people who did this are terriblly deranged, and serve no purpose living amongst others whom they would probably have no problems killing in the most inhumane fashions possible.

If it weren't for the leniency afforded to the blights upon our Earth by Human Rights laws, i'd fully back these people having the same treatment as they caused, but since we don't have the pleasure of watching people truly pay for their crimes, the best we can hope for is a few years in jail for people who'll be out early for 'good behaviour' and left to roam the streets again.

Whilst it is Wythenshawe A.K.A Scumbag Central, I didn't even think this level of inhumanity would be possible from people we harbour in our communities. What puts yet a stronger sour taste in my mouth is the fact that they'll probably be lining up in the dole que ready to sponge off the state any time now, and who knows what that money'll go towards next.

I wonder How'd they caught the birds and how they got hold of the frog. Catching birds isn't an easy task.

I think that, rather them going to jail, they just have to repay the damage done, repay the broken windows, etc... And they have to open a foster home for birds. Nuff said.

Find them and lock them away for good. Studies routinely show animal torture as a precursor to full on psychopathy. I suspect someone who was determined enough to catch all those birds (even in an aviary) is someone on the fast track to Bundy-ville.

It is estimated more than £10,000 of damage was caused in the incident.

The 15-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of theft and burglary earlier, a spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said.

He is also being questioned in connection with the theft of chickens in Rowsley Avenue, Didsbury, on 16 May.

Well Im pretty sure it was teens, because the destruction is just to random and cruel. Adults dont NORMALLY do it that way. I feel bad for the parents when they get caught. I remember a couple years ago, a couple teens got bored during the summer, and went to a new car dealer to kill time in the early morning hours. The dumb gaks stabbed holes in 100 trucks gas tanks, keyed like 50 or so cars and slashed the tires on most of those cars they damaged. So the parents got to split the repair bill on all those vehicles......ouch.

Thankfully, in the U.S., we only convict people for crimes they have committed, not for those they may commit.

The kid, which he / she most likely is, should be entered into a psychological therapy treatment program and made to pay for animal cruelty crimes. Nothing more.

Minority Report anyone?

Ah, so liquefy.

Or blend, depends on whether you want more a smoothie-type consistency for when he is ultimately fed to animals.

If it had only been the birds, I could see it. I mean, birds used to be dinosaurs, and dinosaurs used to eat people, so that's just vengeance. But those windows never hurt anyone, and they were only two days from retirement.

That's commie propaganda!

Also, those windows rights crazies are calling for him to be defenestrated, but I am a lenient overlord and will instead stick to the plan to reduce this vile little bastard to a liquid state via rapidly moving blades.

I think we should inflict a similar punishment upon him that he inflicted on the animals he killed.

We immobilise him, then stand him neck-deep in a pond full of fertilizer, then smear his head with gravy and let the birds of prey go to work...
