Hello guys,
Here are the new Venom and Talos trays for Dark Eldar. If you notice we made room for Reaver Jet bike on one of the trays. We will do a tray with the Razorwing as soon as we get our hands on it.
Keep in mind that these shapes normally show up on the Custom Tray Creator within 3 weeks from the launch of the standard trays.
Hope you guys like these and you can find them under NEW ITEMS on www.battlefoam.com

Nice. Those will definitely get some use.
Slightly off topic: BF doesn't have standard order trays that are something like all 2 inch squares or anything do you?

Yes, we actually do. You just need to check on the site in the standard troop tray section. My first suggestion would be the Ork Troop tray or something similar. You may find that the 60 Large Model troop tray would also work.

A tray for scourges (and do hellions fit in standard trays?) would be fantastic, too!

In the first tray are the jetbikes meant to be double stacked? There seems to be a very large amount of space above and I can't see that protecting the models but more allowing them to bounce around.

Erosoketa - The parasite engine and talos both fit perfectly in these cut outs. We designed them to fit both models.
Flatchzange - we actually make tray for daemons. Please check under the daemons section of our site in Battle Foam size trays.
Munkeykungfu - all of our trays are tested before they are released to the public. They are tested for fit and protection. Also the jet bikes on stands with upper fins come to 3 inches tall or higher. Unless someone planned on doing jumping jacks with their models no harm will come to them using these or any other BF trays.

I checked your company out a while ago, but the lack of UK distribution made me dismiss it. Having another look it seems there is now UK distribution and the product range is a lot better too.
Out of curiosity, what tray would you recommend for mantics figures? I'm ideally looking to fit 2 whole armies (500+ models, mostly infantry with a small amount of cavalry and war machines) into a single case.
Wondering if the 91-troop tray would be suitable for general use with pretty much all of mantic's range.
Also wondering - what tray (available from the UK) would you recommend that can handle both 10 cavalry and a few war machines. So far all I've found is a high elf tray that looks perfect, but is only sold as part of a kit.
I don't mind doing a bit of foam cutting/ removing dividers if necessary. There is the 24-cavalry tray, but 4 inches is way too deep for my purposes, ideally looking to place the cavalry on their sides in the tray, so something more like 2 inches would work better (the artillery pieces are very small, about bolt thrower size and square shaped).
Also, despite it being a little contrary to your company name, have you have ever thought about designing a range of cases suitable for minis with magnets under their bases? There are a lot of companies offering foam cases at the moment, but none of them are offering metal-lined cases for magnetized models. I've seen some amazing customized cases that were basically briefcase sized, with steel sheet on the inside, and magnetized models on every surface on each side. I would be *really* interested in buying something like that but nobody sells it.
I've even seen people that had movement trays with steel on top (for the minis to stick to), and extra powerful magnets embedded underneath to attach the movement tray to the case.. so deploying an army was simply a matter of taking the unit out of the case and putting it straight on to the table, no fiddly ranking up or anything required.
I think there would be a lot of money to be made with an intelligently designed magnetic system (sold with the proper magnets and movement trays to go with it), and you'd be the first to the market too!

Wow. I have never heard of this place. I have a question though. How big are these trays? Also, the trays that are supposed to hold Dark Eldar Raiders/Ravagaers: Is this with or without the stand attached? I glued mine in place because I got tired of the Raider/Ravanager "rolling" around on the fulcrum during play.

So, Romeo... You going to add a shape to your "create your own" set up for those who want to put their (expensive) Web Way Portals in a tray?
If so, I'd suggest you (a) advise people to put the WWP's in the tray upside down, for easier removal or (b) make it so that the WWP's are stored sideways. If someone drops a WWP down into a circle that it fits into perfectly, it'll be a PITA to get it out.

Kurce - We offer a large selection of tray sizes. Things that will fit our bags and a bunch to fit other styles of bags. If you check on our website you will find the sizes to each tray in its description. That should help in deciding if what you want will fit.
Scarletsquig - We actually are the exclusive bag maker for Mantic Games. Their New Mantic bag releases July 1st so please keep an eye on Mantic's website or ours for more information. It is designed to fit a very nice size army and even holds the white plastic mantic cases inside. I'm sure it will work great for your army you describe.
If the Mantic bag is not the direction you would want to go, please check out our entire fantasy range. We offer well over 50 different trays for cav, guns, or troops.
I can't comment on the idea you have below or it will blow our cover. I can tell you that we have been working on this very same issue. More to come on that subject later this year.

At the risk of sounding petulant, I was wondering why the delay on putting it into customisation?
Not heckling, just genuinely interested. Might have to place an order with yourselves soon. Or at least a UK distributor, as I have two rather chunk Dark Eldar armies turning up, and could also do with custom foam for my Nids.

I actually emailed them about this, basically they can't build the trays until they have the models in front of them.
These trays will be up on our website after the models come in. We have to build the models before we create the trays!
Battlefoam dudes: any idea when the Parasite engine and Venom will be available on the custom tray creator?

@RiTides: There is a tray designed for helions. It holds 15 of them and has plenty of room for the delicate bits that they have all over the place. I am really satisfied with the hellion tray.
@Kurce: The raider and ravager trays are designed to hold the models with the stand attached. They are 6 inches deep and do a good job of protecting the models.

The hands are ok. It's the swords you need to be careful with. They get bent real easy and then snap at the hilt. Had it happen to two so far. I actually went and measured all 30 of my Bloodletters and they need a 2 inch deep, 2 inch square (2x4 rectangle for standard bearers) to have enough room to not endanger their swords. Hence my rather specific inquiry.
Not a huge deal as a custom tray is (only) a few dollars more. But as a consumer, you need to perform your due diligence and try to find the best deal.

Well, I wouldnt recommend the Daemon tray for the letters Like I said: Fine for the bearers, and possible the daemonettes (havent tried that yet, but I can) but the horrors and the letters just dont work out. unless i use it as the top of my case with a bit of air, but that wont work due to other larger things being on top already. I will definately purchase more from BF and try out some more. Let me know if you got any hands on experience though Id like to stay away from the customized ones unless theres absolutely no other way though. Id like to keep it generic.
