Race: The Shadowkind

History: Before the Emperor's shadow stood on Earth there once was a small bastion of people in its vast population known as the Wolvanians who were first to take to the stars past the solar system. They left Earth in a whole, 38 million, in a massive fleet of the most high tech ships earth at that point ever produce. These Wolvanians disappear from history, the universe, and to the eye of gods.
The empire rules and now this iron grasp on the throat of the galaxy is now challenge by the Shadowkind. Later to be discovered as the lost Wolvanian race they found a way to find a hidden solar system disgiused by the warp. They look human but have change dramatically by replacing their spines and skulls with a special spinal processor with a titanium skull processor. Each of the shadow kind are born as pure human but once they turn 22 their brain is scanned for their personality and their body's genetics are copy for cloning, this process becomes a form of immortailly. Thier spines also allow for genetic mutation for defense as well as intergration of cybernetics.

Squads, people, leaders: the main soldier is in combat armor similar to space marines but much more slimmer, they focus on mid range combat with a mild melee and mild range weapony.
The Leader: A warship with Four large arms and tens of cyber like tenticles, it is the key to the shadowkind's immortally as it hold all information in personalies and genetics.
Tanks: are more tank like in our age but uses more electric weapons.
Cyber demons: different chaos deamons capture and mutated and enchanced for the shadowkind
Hades: a war hero whos still on his first body, known for his sword and shield.
Underworld: a legendary sniper whoes kills all in his path

Advantages : is very hard kill and harder to extinguish

The Squats

Spoiler:
The Squats (Homo sapiens rotundus) were short, stocky and physically very tough Abhumans who were adapted to the heavy gravity conditions that predominated on the worlds they had settled near the core of the Milky Way Galaxy. Of all the Abhuman types encountered by the Imperium, they most closely resembled baseline humans. Squats were the descendants of baseline humans who had colonised the worlds around the galactic core in the far distant past. These worlds are some of the oldest in the galaxy, formed when the laws of physics had not yet been fully stabilized. The Squat species was ultimately destroyed by the invasion of a Tyranid splinter Hive Fleet that consumed their homeworlds in the late 41st Millennium, though some survivors still serve in the Imperial Guard, hoping for revenge and to find a new beginning for the remnants of their race.
The Squats' ancestors were human colonists who reached the heavy-gravity mineral-rich worlds around the galactic core, during the time of the initial expansion of humanity beyond Earth's own solar system in the Dark Age of Technology, many millennia before the emergence of the Emperor of Mankind and the dawn of the Age of the Imperium. The colonisation came at the right time, as Earth's own mineral wealth had been depleted. The worlds at the galactic core were rich in rare and unique minerals, but in terms of the existence of life they were barren and unsuited for human colonisaton. These worlds are dark and bleak. Their gravity was intense, usually two or three times that of the Earth. Their atmospheres were either thin or non-existent. Even those planets with atmospheres were blasted by tremendous radiation storms produced by the massive black hole located in the galaxy's core.

These planets became mining worlds. The colonists were forced to become self-sufficient, providing their own underground hydroponically-grown food. Due to the hostile nature of these worlds' surfaces, the colonists formed underground societies. During the long isolation of the Age of Strife, the Squat race genetically adapted to their new homes, evolving to suit their environment, becoming far tougher, more resilient and physically shorter with a denser skeletomuscular system than baseline humanity. The Squats had true engineers who explored the frontiers of human science and technology without the constraints of religion and ritual, in contrast with the dogma-bound humans of the Adeptus Mechanicus.

Some say the real history of the Squats begins in the Age of Strife when their worlds were cut off from Terra and the race first developed, but their actual origins begin much earlier during the Dark Age of Technology, or as the Squats call it, the Age of Founding. Squats are sometimes called "Space Dwarfs" or just "Dwarfs" in the Imperium because of their uncanny resemblance to those mythical creatures of Norse legend (and to the Dwarfs of the Warhammer Fantasy universe who are their true progenitors). In war, the Squats used squads of motorcycles supported by massive artillery barrages from outlandishly large super-heavy tracked vehicles such as the Land Train, Colossus, Leviathan, and Cyclops.

Holy Terra

Overseers:

My WH40k army,a new Human faction.

History:

When the Emperor started unification of Mankind, he came across system consisting of 5 planetary systems. Here live the highly advanced Humans who greet the Emperor and sway their loyalties to him. They share their technological genius with Adeptus Mechanicus and Imperium as a whole. But, they also led politic that Mankind should live with non hostile aliens at peace. They where not very popular in the top of Imperial body with their ideas, but the Emperor like it and left it for "to-do list" when the unification of Humanity was complete. But, sadly, Horus Heresy begun and Battle for Terra was waging. Overseers use their advanced warships to counter traitor fleet, eventually defeating it - but with a heavy cost. After Horus Heresy was over, and Emperor put on the Gloden Throne, Overseers have come under suspicion by the agents of Inquisition. Even with the Primarchs opposition to their plan, the Inquisition getter large force and attack the Overseer worlds. In one week it was over, of countless billions Overseers only 3 billion survive the mayhem. They fled to the Halo zone, hoping that Inquisition would not follow them there. There they meet Virions, a race of powerful alien race - but quite peaceful. And now they are slowly rebuilding their society, free from the Inquisitorial threat. With the Virions help they continue their technological advancement and now they are most advanced civilization in galaxy. With ships that can go across the galaxy in a matter of hours, and highly trained infantry with personal shielding. Even if they are renegades to the Imperials, they have many times came to aid them against the forces of disorder. They also help other alien races, like the Tau or Eldar. They have many friends within the Imperium. Various planetary governors, Space Marine chapters - even some Sister of Battle orders. And together with the Virions, they are waiting time when the galaxy will be in most need of help. Or when the final battle against Chaos will take place...

Codex:

Location: Halo zone, more than 15 planetary systems.

Population: around 150 billion

Capital world: Ilos (population 11.5 billion)

Main allies: Virions

Other allies: Tau Empire, Eldar Craftworlds of Biel-Tan, Ulthwe, Alaitoc and Iyanden, some Imperial officials.

Battle strategy: mainly highly advanced armor, highly trained infantry and special units.
Fleet: Highly advanced ships with tremendous firepower.

Tactics: hitting on poorly defensible positions and supply paths. Using heavy units to punch trough fortresses and heavy defensible positions. Using fleet only when necessary...have a heavy load of EMP torpedoes specially design to disable ships of other factions.

Main ideology: the Code of Honor (made with the Emperor on Terra before the Heresy), the Code is followed by every Overseer alive. The Code suggest to help anyone in any time, no matter the race or the belief.

Psyhic ability: none at all, with their obsession with reason and technology warp do not have affects on the Overseers. But they use the Warp in same way as the Imperial, but they can go trough it with FTL drives.

Technology: Highly advanced, they use Cold Fusion and Warp generation to power their cities. Food or water is no problem with energy generator that can make anything from molecules around it (much like Replicators is Star Trek). There is no traffic jams or traffic with the use of state of the art Teleporters, witch have power to teleport person from planet to planet with the range of an entire solar system. Infantry rifles use nano sized bullets witch have the power like Tau pulse rifle, and generator that is producing them. They can never ran out of ammunition, but their rifles can overheat (like rifles from Mass Effect 1). For close combat they use small plasma sword on their hand (similar like Protoss in Starcraft), and for defense every solder have shield generator. And in case of emergence on their left wrist they have nano-shield generator - when active it can produce nano-shield 1m in diameter for personal protection (similar like Shadow Broker in Mass Effect 2 DLC "Lair Of The Shadow Broker).

Biology: similar like Imperial Human, but can live around 2500 years.

Special ability:
-instant teleportation (like Eldar Warp spider, but faster)
-massive EMP attack (for disabling enemy fleets and armor companies)
-quick hit and run actions (for breaking the enemy positions)

Army list:

HQ:
-Commander
-Admiral
-Tactical officers

Special units:
-Teleport Commando
-Assasination team
-Ilos Guard

Troops:
-Overseer Marines

Heavy support:
-Overseer Anti-tank team
-Overseer Tactical nuke team

Vehicles:
- M-44 "Dorn" medium tank
- M-55 "Lion" heavy tank
- M-88 "Emperor" super-heavy battle tank
- "Tornado" transport
- "Watcher" AA tank
- "Mech M-04" support heavy mech
- "Mech L-03" close combat heavy mech

Fast attacks:
- "Reapers" heavy close-combat jet pack troops
- "Lightning" high speed infantry support vehicle

Other:
- "Raptor" high orbit support fighter (similar to F-22 Raptor)
- "Lasta" high orbit drop ship
- "Wrath" gunship
- "Cyclone" high altitude support gunship (like Specter Gunship from C&C Generals)

Overseers in 41'st millennium:

In the grim darkness of the far future, Overseers and Virions are only faction in galaxy engaged in helping others. The main concern of Overseers are Necrons, Tyranids and Chaos. Rising of the Necrons mean extinction on galactic scale. Tyranids mean not only extinction, but also death of billions of worlds. While Warp energies meant that our whole universe is in danger of being consume in the eternity of madness and suffering.

Overseers have one more problem at their hand...their technology is not compatible with the effects of the warp. Witch means that the closer the Overseer fleet is to Eye Of Terror (where the Warp field effect is at it's strongest) the technology is that much useless to them. There are even the reports of Overseer ships shutting down, their shield and weapons overload and explode or even entire outpost run out of power for being close to the wapr storm. In that case, Overseers use Virion technology (origin are Overseer, but Virions develop in their own way...) witch is more stable in the proximity of warp fields.

Main task of the Overseers in 41'st Millennium is to bring the Emperor back, but the conditions of Emperor's body is to bad to try anything and even if they found a way - the Inquisition won't give them permission to get near Terra. Overseer scientist are still far away for finding a formula to super-regeneration witch would bring the Emperor's body at state it was 10.000 years ago. But, they are very close to the formula that helped the Emperor to create original Space Marine Legion, that will allow to renew the creation of Space Marine chapters and bring so needed stability to some sectors of the galaxy.

Notable Overseers:

-Grand Chancellor Mathew (Leader of the Grand Council on Ilos)
-General Alexander (Commander in Chief of Overseer forces, Commander of veteran 35'th Milon Regiment - the original Home world of Overseers witch was destroyed by Inquisitorial strike force after the Horus Heresy)
-Captain Marcus (Captain of elite Ilos Guard)
-"Fisher" (Best Commando that Overseers have, survived more than 1000 missions over 300 years)
-Admiral Archer (Commander in Chief of Overseer fleet, Commander of 2'nd fleet that guard Ilos)
-Sgt. Ashley (Sargent of Assault troops of 35'th Milon Regiment, Alexander 2'nd in command)

Overseer quotes:

"Forget your past life son, you are in the army now. Here there are lot of individuals, but in combat you become one large body. And if one part of this body fail's the whole body dies. Remember that and you will stay alive"

"We Overseers have one important rule: don't f*** with Virions"

Here's my race; The Xli'koids.

Biology:
The Xil'koids are moderate sized creatures that vaguely resemble four foot long slugs whose underbellies are swarming with tentacles ranging for six inches to three feet long. They have a large mouth at their front but when closed it is almost impossible to see. Generally Xil'koids are herbivores due to their massive molars but are capable of eating anything if tricked into it. The colors of Xil'koids vary from hot pink to a dark, bruise colored purple. Xil'koids originated from a rocky, high gravity planet and as a result are surprisingly strong and endurable. Due to how quickly they are conceived and mature, Xil'koids breed extremely quickly. The average Xil'koid (assuming there are no outside threats, such as war or ecological disasters) has a seventy one year lifespan and thirty six children.

History:
Xil'koids were one of the first "Xenos" encountered by humans (During M.27), having lived just on the edge of the Solar System. During the extremely early Great Crusade mankind engaged the Xil'koids in a twenty five year war which was briefly led by the God Emperor. Though the Space Marines and Imperial Guard inflicted heavily losses on the slugs, the Xil'koids quickly recovered using their extreme reproduction. At one point, ten years into the war, the Ultramarines led a massive two thousand Marine attack into the Xil'koid capital and were slaughtered ruthlessly by sheer numbers. Eventually the Emperor was forced to take a personal hand in the conflict and decided to simply ruin the planets rather than try to claim them (despite the solar system's usefulness and resources). Through orbital bombardment 70% of the Xil'koid race was slain and the rest fled to the Ultima Segmentum.

Over the next five thousand years the Xil'koids replenished their numbers and rebuilt their society. Finally, when all was well again, they were discovered by the Inquisition. Four regiments of the Imperial Guard, the Ultramarines, the Novamarines and the Inceptors descended upon them. Over a sixty seven year war the Xil'koids' planets were once again ruined and the race was once against decimated. Thankfully the Xil'koids enough of them survived to set up a new colony. However, due to an error in warp travel approximately five billion Xil'koids ended up on Macragge and the other twelve billion in an a large asteroid belt.

The Xil'koids on Macragge had somehow ended up past the orbital turrets and planetside. Macragge had been long since ruined by Tyranids and the only place the Ultramarines visited was the Shrine of Gulliman. After learning to keep away from it, the Xil'koids built a sizeable society hiding under the Ultramarines' noses. Currently Macragge is home to seven billion very sneaky Xil'koids who live each day with the fear that a scout will happen upon their capital or something. The Xil'koids in the asteroid belt on the other hand hollowed out the asteroids and built inside of them. Some asteroids only contain a single house, office building or indoor farm while others contain entire cities.

Society:
The Xil'koids of Macragge live under a dictatorship where the ruler is determined by the pinkness of the skin. The current leader is Zpaheruealmdard the Bright, a vibrant hot pink slug with surprisingly long tentacles. Zpaheruealmdard is completely mad and regularly commissions great shrines, temples and buildings in his name. Nobody has rebelled against him as open conflict would attract the attention of the Ultramarines and thus Zpaheruealmdard is completely secure in his posistion.

Meanwhile, the other society of Xil'koids has the same political system most Xil'koids have used since their discovery by mankind; luck. People's political status is determined by dice rolls and politician's political abilities are determined by a large "Wheel of Fortune." The system is extremely incompetent and has failed numerous times. The only reason Xil'koids are still alive is due to their ability to reproduce.

Allies:
The Macragge Xil'koids have no allies, as intergalactic communication would attract the Ultramarines. However, the Asteroid Xil'koids are allies with the Hrud (who frequintly inhabit their closets, sewers, hangers, caves and undercities), the Tau (they said, "Sure wahtever" to the idea of the Greater Good) and a strange neighboring society of Xenos known as the Kriirjririjrjirj.

Enemies:
All Xil'koids are enemies of the Imperium and Ultramarines in particular due to their repeated battles. In addition the Xil'koids are enemies of the Eldar (due to their arrogance towards the Xil'koids rabbit like reproduction, idiotic governments and pointless wars), the Orks and the Red Corsairs.

Technology:
Xil'koids have warp travel, but have failed to master plasma weaponry or lasers. In war the average soldier is armed with a rifle and armor for their antennae. Only the elite have body armor, rocket weaponry or vehicles. Their main tactic is rolling dice to determine their main tactics.

The Tau Aether Caste

Not all Tau seem to be susceptible to the mind controlling pheromones secreted by the Tau Ethereals. These individuals born are hunted down and destroyed by the Ethereals so not to challenge their power or breed more like them. Those that survive have forged together, and now wage a secret war against the Ethereals. They have found an unlikely ally in the Imperial Inquisition, who would love nothing more than to destabilize the expanding Tau Empire. The Aether Caste as they have been come to be known as utilize hybrid Imperial/Tau technology and have vowed to bring an end to the reign of the Ethereals.

The Pastafarxenos

Ruled by the Giant Spaghetti Monster, a radiated, mutated, warp-infested creature that evolved from a bowl of spaghetti that was left in the Emperors fridge the day they left to conquer the universe. They insinuate themselves into every society by disguising themselves as a harmless foodstuff. Eventually, everyone is wearing colanders on their head as a show of fealty to the flying spaghetti monster. See that bowl of pasta with bolognaise sauce? Its a bowl of Pastarxenos covered in its last victims blood.

Unfortunately, the mind-controlled colander wearers are pathetically ill-equipped to fight. They usually fight with cooking utensils, and, due to the hellhole they originated from (Italy), they aren't all that interested in sticking around when the bullets start to fly.

Alright, this is going to be off the cuff so after thinking for awhile hmm what kind of race would be an interesting addition to the universe of 40k. We have Technology in Tau. We have endurance in space marines and chaos to some respect. We have Initiative in Eldar races. Orc and Nid's are attack heavy and bring a wound mob. There are all kinds of classification's for race's you can throw into the mix with 40k. Though honestly with how things are right now off the cuff and me not wanting to think too much I'm going to have to go with a 'Good' Necron Theme. Simply cause well Necron's are metal and is there a metal good race? No.... So I will create a race called

The Araca...

The Araca are a group of smooth glinting chrome metal entities that at first glace carry smooth rounded edges along there skeletal body that seem to ward off any dark hostilities and even reflect sun or even dim moonlight. Akin to the Necron in metal and skeletal appearance the Araca differ in stature being much more taller and lithe. Soft lights usually light dimly from joint locations dependent on the personality of the Araca. The glow or the effect of the light can very depending on there strength or military ranking status. They also have elongated heads similar to the Eldar wraith kind that wisp backward. Long thin glowing eyes that fallow the color of there joints. They Araca have a speech that is unlike any other as they speak threw low chimes and hums.

The Araca mysteriously come from 'The Future' warping back into time to try and change the past and seem most fixated on the necron's. There mysterious reflection's speak about The Necron's as one wonders if they are the distant future of the Necromantic Empire that slowly rises from the entombed sands of various worlds. Perhaps they had freed them self from the enslavement of the C'tan and slowly moved towards the meaning of life and exsistance? The Araca seem to be more centralized around deep strike assaults. Being able to warp into battle with precision and without difficulty threw eons of time is impressive to say the least. Though, in the ironic sense the Araca have seem to left the WWB nature that the Necron's cherish so much. Is this a sign of the meaning of life? the acceptance of the sadness of war? One can only guess with the Araca in there strange ways of shifting threw time in place that would seem to befriend and envy the Eldar. Worse yet... the Eldar are unable to sense the Araca within the future that is.

FoC

HQ

Singularity (Think Necron Lord but with 2+(3i) sv (Shield is 3i) with great assault options / weapons and is a self contained assault unit.)
Oracle (Think Librarian but concentrates on manipulating time offensively(Redo whole range/assault phases?) and energy to support units)

ELITE

Striders (Like WS 4 BS 2 S5 T6 I3 A2 Sv 2+ moves as if cavalry, Power Gauntlets FNP... Something between size / mass of Wraith Guard & a Wraith Lord. Squad Size: 1-3)
Chrono Assassin (Run's kind of like Callidus Assassin but instead you choose the unit you want to attack on deployment and on what turn...)
Phase Behemoth (This is a very vicious jagged sharp mean looking 'chrome beast'. Fluffy wise A blurr to look at. Daemon Price stat line powers & reduce I by 3 to a min of 1.)

TROOPS

Spartans (Carry pikes and shields basically a an assaulty necron warrior group with 2 ranged assault weapons to make it a bit more interesting.)

FAST

Relapse Swan's (Like Swooping Hawks with Sky Leap by teleport instead. Very Feminine chromatic looking various jeweling on a tapering back skirt but still necron'ish but elegant.)
Reflecting Sphere (IC may reflect D3 range Attacks per turn if fail: Sv 2+ WS - BS 10 S - T 4 W 2 I -)
??? Lights (***)

HEAVY

Colossus (A really bad ass dreadnaught... F:14 S:14 B14 meant to kill Monoliths, only range weapon laser cannon eyes & two huge S10 A4 massive power gauntlets to smash / crush...)
Vibration Chime (warped in stationary complex lithe floating rods/cylinder chime clock(Time,Future) sonic weapon that counts as F:12 S:12 B:12 BS:4 sonic attack at 72"G S9 Blast)

***: Light's move very fast and are generally considered a suicide unit or a support unit. There are 3 type's of lights Arc Lights, Par Lights, Ni Lights. Arc Lights spark white electrical ranged attacks, Par Lights can assault vehicle weapons for weapon destroyed results in base to base. Ni Light's act as a deterrent reducing vehicle weapon skills and necron WWB rolls in base to base.

Alright done with fooling with that, I don't know hopefully someone liked it was just making up stuff randomly really not trying much but it was a pretty fun go at it. I think its a decent solid idea off fluff and possibilities makes an interesting Eldar ally for sure can be scary for others I would think. Though a fun mix...
