...for my wife ... for her birthday.

We're just over a year married and I thought it would be nice to get her some in addition to her 'asked for' present (a subscription to a magazine she wants).

I thought I was clever - I checked sizes and stuff.. but I'm a bit nervous.. will it fit? Will she open it and think I'm wierd?

So I'm wondering if my fellow geeks have any experience in this field?

Underwear as a present is a sweet gift. I used to buy my exwife lingerie as presents. And she'd thank me by modeling them ...and other things.

Now, I'm a man, and therefor flawed, but I'm guessing that your wife wants more than just a magazine subscription, and the underwear might seem selfish. Might I suggest something a bit more personal? Like, do you paint pictures? Or cook? I have a recipe for chocolate-covered cherry/pecan cookies that made my girlfriend quite happy.

Again, to reiterate above, reaction depends on the underwear in question:
silky, lacy, quite classy/expensive looking stuff that could be worn to a fancy dinner (under clothing)? tends to get a positive reaction
PVC and lacking a crotch? not so much
