title is fairly self-explanitory, so i'll kick us off;
im currently watching 'The Mentalist' and Patrick Jane is possibly the deepest character on TV at the moment. Charlie from the 'Numb3rs' was also a very good character that i enjoyed watching.
Just watched the first three seasons of The Wire and loved Stringer Bell played by the awesome Idris Elba.
After faves include...
Hurley in Lost for his great off the cuff one liners ("Screw it, we're from the future").
Gaius Baltar in Battlestar Galactica for his magnificent sense of self preservation.
Chloe in 24 for her snarky remarks and blatant sighs whenever she thinks her managers have just made an incompetent decision (which is most of the time).
I am both selfish and chaotic. I value self-gratification and control; I want to have things my way, preferably now. At best, I'm entertaining and surprising; at worst, I'm hedonistic and violent.
Flashman, you disappoint me. Being a fellow Brit, how could you fail to include this guy:
"Our crops will wither, our children will die piteous
deaths and the sun will be swept from the sky. But is it true?" - Tom Kirby, CEO, Games Workshop Ltd
I can't decide between Sylar from heroes or
Patrick Jane from the mentalist.
Jane because of the way that he plays everyone against each other, but being a smartass whilst doing it, and Sylar because he's just so ridiculously evil (up till the 4th season anyway)
Gotta agree with OP Patrick Jane is a great character...

Seal up your lips and give no words but mum.
Equip, Reload. Do violence.
Watch for Gerry.
I have to second Tyrion Lannister in GoT for his brutal honesty in many aspects of life. I do like Daenyris for her ability to change - plus the fact that her brother got pwned.
And running a razor-close second, the most dangerous man on television, Brock Samson
However, I watch the show for one reason and one reason only, The Monarch's endlessly endearing but utterly hapless minions. (Seriously, how many of them has Brock killed?)
You touch those and your G.I. Joes are gonna be M.I.A. my friend! and then who's gonna call Little Momma Joe, to tell her that her boy ain't coming home? Cause SOMEBODY was asleep on guard duty!
Drink deeply and lustily from the foamy draught of evil.
