My friend just told me he will not have the money to play his army in Ard Boyz so I offered him my second army which is necrons. Only played them a few times so far This is list I usually play what do you think?

Kill the warriors and the whole army disappears (phases out). Makes them easy to take out if you don't have a plan for keeping you warriors alive. Most folks "hide" them in reserve and hope they don't arrive until later in the game.

First, your list is at 2420, you make want to make that known.
Adjustments:
Drop immortals, add a third monolith. Monolith is scarier and will do more damage
Drop lord and a squad of warriors, add Deceiver. You need a scary counter-assault/push unit. Hide him behind the monoliths so he can't be peppered down. In addition, he can help you redeploy and deceive.
Fill in rest of points with warriors (who will always start in reserve) to the remaining 3 squads.

2500 is a little awkward for necrons.... but if I were you go with 15 destroyers, deceiver, 3 liths, lord with veil, 20 warriors, 10 warriors. lord goes with 20 and is just a gak my warriors are about to get raped in cc lets gtfo. not sure about point value though.... lol

Gitsplitta : Killing the warriors do not phase out army, phase out rule says its based on when only 25% of necrons are left, which includes all but monolith so you have to kill 52 units or when only 18 are left the phase.
Kharnflakes : I miss spoke its NOT FNp but its simalir, if you fail save you get a 4+ get back up roll
Emp. & 123birds : only got 2 monoliths atm, I don t like deciver but I do have nightbringer, dropping 10 immortals for 20 man warriors is good idea, my thought was that I would use the veil to get in better possition with immortals who have same amount of shoots as 20 warriors but second shoot for warrios is 12" so immortal have better toughness and can stay further away

At 2500 all I can say is good luck. WBB is not so effective with all of the low ap of 2500, and if you start all of the warriors in reserve, well, you are playing an opponent at 2500 points with 2 monoliths, 15 destroyers, and a squad of immortals on the board. Again, good luck!

Well whats the different between necrons and marines?? nothing
Inigo Montoya : your telling me that heavy weapions are bad and not to count on wbb rolls right, however then no one should play marines, chaos marines, etc. Look at it this way not alot of different between necron and marine but when a necron fails armour he can roll wbb and tell me when a marine gets no armour save then what roll do they get??

ATSKNF (Also powerfists, metal bawkses, acceptable initiative, combat tactics, melta guns, and chapter master abilities)
Also I would honestly think about using some heavy destroyers. If you go up against a heavy mech list i just don't feel like the liths are going to cut it.

123birds: am sure you understand that using tactics I will never let you use powerfist and iniative will never matter. once all warriors are off reserves then monoliths will use particle whips, also lets not forget flex arc which is a d6 shots to each model. Gauss weapioin are sweet also and unless you custom a list to fight me I feel it will be even match, same stats as marine but with xtra roll to keep in fight. Also just wondering have you ever fought against necrons or do you have a codex for them? Not try to be mean but just wondering if you know all there abilities. One more thing not all necron warrios start in reserve btw

seriously though once your lord with the orb is dead your warriors will pretty much fall apart. and without the extra wbb you phase out rather quickly

for most of them yes but the whole point at the start of this all was that 1 necrons are not that bad and 2. my friend ahs nothing to play atm so just was checking on my list to see if I needed to change anything that I might have missed. Something that was very obvious.

For those of you poo-pooing this 3rd Ed codex/army, a guy placed 29th outta 75 players at the BAO GT. It was 3 monos and 12+ destroyers (even a pic of his orange-ness!  ):

I've played against it and a similar list a lot recently. I've beaten the one guy who is newer with the army a few times. Poster skrewpa, general of this army, usually is in the top few at the monthly RTTs.
More often, it is the general, not the army.
Let's say that jbuzzsaw wanted to play tau at AB. Instead of giving him a hard time about how tau suck, how about helping pimp his army to to best at 2500? You know. Just 'cause it's helpful.
jbuzzsaw: I could help at 1850, but 2500 is beyond my experience, so I apologize for posting without a contribution to your list. But I hope the rest of the posts will be more constructive.

Hmm, an idea to consider would be to hunt down DashofPepper's Wraithwing guide and list, and run Wraiths (got the models?) and Destroyers. I suppose that 2500 might allow for the combination of Wraiths, enough warriors and destroyers.
Mind you, DoP is reportedly a damn good player.

basicly only things that work for necrons are
Max destroyers
max monolith
maybe get a deciever (very useful)
get min warriors 10 man squads
immortal are cool not sure how they do in games.

29th place out of 75 players for a GT that's been cooking for months. Meaning a lot of people had a lot of time to get ready for it. I call finishing almost in the top third respectable and competitive, particularly when you realize each placing was different by a narrow margin.
Check the (above) link yourself to see the armies that placed. And 'expecting marines' is kinda silly  . It's like expecting counter-spells out of a blue deck of M:tG. What are majority of models sold by GW? Spess Muhreens.

jbuzzsaw has already maxed the destoyers out ... so if there's anything more to be helpful with ... ? And gee, if DoP can make Wraiths work reasonably well, then there ought to be room to expand one's ideas on the list.

In 4e, there was a Tomb Spider list with scarabs up the ying-yang (and the larger the point-game the better), meant to be mega cheese. Have you explored that option?

I'd run a 3x Warrior 3x Monolith 15 heavy destroyer 10 Immortal army with 2x tomb spiders (if you have them).
Don't listen to all this stuff from people that think they're always so positive on what is competitive and what's not. Also, just people just need to stop with the X army can kill your army so easy man, all I gotta do is run x this and x that, just shhh.
Necrons are still very playable and very very mean, it's just a very hard army to learn and master. You can hand anyone a top tier army, and if they don't know how to play it like a pro, it's not going to win, the same can be said with Necrons. Though they aren't an auto win army, they are very hard to beat if played correctly, much along the same lines as Eldar, they lack a lot of new rules, and balancing, but their WBB with 2x Tomb spiders and 3 Monoliths will make people cry when they knock down 2 whole squads and you 2x WBB them though a monolith portal, get most of your force back and them shoot them to death with the repaired Necrons. So satisfying.
Your list you have in the original isnt bad, but you should have your friend get in at least a few practice games because like I said, Necrons are very hard to play (took me about a year before I figured out how to play them in 5th competitively.)
