Well, I suppose it's time to take the plunge. I've found a way to use my cell-phone to get pics of my models onto my computer, and so, I'll finally be able to show off what I've done.

Now, for the first few models, I'll probably be showing stuff I've already finished- some of my Nobz, Warbosses, and Big Mek Whizzitz 'imself- but then I'll start getting into the stuff I haven't finished yet- my Flash Gitz, my Boyz, and some of my vehicles.

Note, this is supposed to be a Steampunk themed army. However, I have discovered it is incredibly difficult to do Steampunk Orks well with GW parts and basic modeling skills- not because I don't know what Steampunk Orkz should look like, but because 'nilla Orks are already rather Steampunk to begin with.

However, I am trying my best, and it'll only get better as I learn Resin-casting techniques and sculpt my own bitz to add to their Steampunky-ness. In this Blog, nothing is ever truly finished.



And for your viewing pleasure, I present my first Dakka pic, my Ork Warboss with Big Choppa.



Made from an AoBR warboss, konverted with some Kan bitz, and bits of wire and brass shell casings for the backpack you can't see very well right now.

Not very big, 'cause, well, it was taken on my cell phone. Not the best resolution for the same reason. And he's got an Attack squig that's usually perched on top of his BC, that you can't see here.

Looks cool. The pic is kinda small.

Yup. This was really only a test pic. They'll unfortunately all be that small, though, since, like I said, they're from my Cell phone, and it's an old one with a cruddy camera.

Lighting on future pics should be a lot better, though.

Bout fething time. Been waiting forever for your ork blog. Cant wait to see more of your army when your get the camera back. But from what I can see in your warboss pic that 2h is pretty sick.

Cool. Good to see someone was waiting for it. I'll see about getting a pic of some of my Nobz up today.

Well Fankz. It's funny how motivating a viewed and commented blog is. I was only planning on doing a pic or two more today, but I'm prolly gonna be uploading about five or so, and I might even do some GIMP wizardry on them to make them bigger, if not clearer.

An 'ere dey are!

First up, da Ork uv da Hour, Big Mek Whizzitz, 'ead of da Waaagh!!



My first Ork ever. IT was an AoBR Nob a friend gave to me, that I Meked up with some hardware I had on hand. Also the first one I ever painted.



Next iz da Vetrun. First uv da Nobz



Basic Nob box bitz, but roughed up more realiztically than GW does it. 'ez the first Nob I assembled, and 'e likes hunting Nidz, as you can tell by the pile of Nid arms at his feet.

I'm usually against hair squigs in general ( I much prefer Top Hats) but I just decided to stick a couple on this guy, just for SnG. Painted them up a nice royal blue for Deffskullz (my warband's half Deffskullz and half Bad Moonz) and dey looked so Flash, I decided they'd be 'iz Bosspole.

The BigMek made me chuckle, that is a pretty cool mek. Whats he holding in his right hand? The angle of the pic I cant make it out.


Have to say so far they are looking pretty good, although I think the skin could use some highlighting. Either do a black wash and then go over it with the same skin color as a highlight, or just get a lighter green and highlight that way. Itll bring details out big time.

Also my WAAGH! banner nob is pretty similar to the Nid hunter Nob youve got, I put trophies ALL over that guy, and hanging off his banner is a genestealer hand

OHo, just wait till I show some pics of my Waaagh!! banner guy. Used a Big Choppa as a base, and just went to town with skulls and heads and trophies. It's crazy.

And yeah, I tend to have simple paint schemes on my Orks. I haven't really done any drybrushing or washing, and I'm not actually sure what or how to Highlight. But yeah, after a good wash, they'll look tons better.

However, bet you couldn't' guess that my skin is a single coat of paint over bare plastic. I got this one custom mix that covers insanely well. And hopefully soon, all my Orks will be on cobblestone bases.

The thing in 'iz right hand is the controls for the KFF. Funny thing is, the cable that attaches it? Isn't attached. (Don't tell him that, though.)

nice touch of bitz you used! that mallet made of some screw nut is a nice thing! did it take long to saw and hack through it? will you paint it or will you let it stay natural?
i really hope you show some more pics of your vehicles soon...and i am very thankfull that you magiced your pics something bigger...please do so more... i can cope with lower resulution better than with too smalish pics any day^^... though all better pics wouldn´t hurt either^^

Like the 'nid armour on Nidkilla. Can we get a pic from the right side to see what those exhausts (I'm guessing that's what they are) attach to?

OH! Those aren't exhausts. That's more of a wind-up key.

Wish I'd though of that, though. Unfortunately, most of my Nobz are fairly standard. I did what I could to kustomize them a little, but I pretty much just had the Nobz box, some Boyz bits, and the detrius in my pockets when I assembled them, so less skratching than with most of my other Orks.

Just wait 'till I get to my Meganobz. I have 1 Meganob that I bought. The rest are entirely converted and scratchbuilt. Similar with my Flash Gitz.

And here we are again. Sorry I've been away from this 'blog' for so long. I tend to do that, actually.

In any event, I got a little fired up for this WAAAGH!! Dakka thing, and decided (since only DCMS and MODs can be Meks- seriously, what's up with that?) that the next best thing would be a Tankbusta. I considered a Flash Git, but I'm neither Flash nor Nob enuff fer dat. And 'sides, I like takin' fings apart about as much as I like putting them back together again.

So 'ere's Gultoof da Krumper, of WAAAGH!! Dakka.




He's so loaded down with Rokkits, I figured he needed something to help carry them (and it's the next best thing aside from being a Meganob), so I gave him a power frame. Wish Tankbustas could have 'eavy Armour, though.

For those wondering, the body is from a Battlewagon shoota (love the pose on those guys- just has such weight to it), the arms are various AoBR and Boyz box arms with the weapons, a slugga and a choppa, cut off- the Rokkits are from a Tankbusta, a Deffkopta, and the Boyz box Rokkit boy, and I think the head is a Deffcopta pilot- not sure, though.

Wha?

You have "DCM" under your username. Therefore, I assume you can be a Flash Git. From what you said, it seemed as though you were dissapointed you couldn't.

i think it is a case were mere writing comments might be causing probs... i think kingcracker wanted to support your view and he tried a shoulder shroug aproach to it...rules he too didn´t like...

Victors got it, I personally dont see the FlashGits mob as being a DCM only, I can see Nobz, as they are an Elites choice I guess, but FlashGits are NOT Elites. I personally think anyone should be able to join them, is what my point was. Guess I didnt write it to clearly
