Is it just me? Or does this helmet scream DERP

Is the head separate on this model? Anyone switched it out?

Same, seriously. I guess you can switch it out if you want. I think it's fine and has a good look to it.

I've always thought it looked quite cool. You can always get the helmetless version if it upsets you, however.

This is the only techmarine available in Finecast I believe.

I'm kind of shocked that I am alone on this. I'll look at some other pics of it, maybe it will grow on me.

My thoughts exactly.

Not a bit fan of the "mildly displeased" grille on SM helmets.

There are some who walk until their legs fail them and they fall to the ground. I find that respectable.
Then there are those who drag themselves further. I find that admirable.

This is my favorite tech-marine too. I have the non-helmeted version myself, metal, but I'd rather have this one. I love the helmet on it. Kinda surprised at anyone disliking it.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

The only thing wrong with that Techmarine is that he's blue.

He should be red with only one shoulder blue. You'd think the Ultramarines would remember the Codex.

"'players must agree how they are going to select their armies, and if any restrictions apply to the number and type of models they can use."

This is an actual rule in the actual rulebook. Quit whining about how you can imagine someone's army touching you in a bad place and play by the actual rules.

The helmeted one is the only Techmarine available with Servitors and in Finecast, yeah.

The helmetless one is nice, but it's basically the exact same model just without the helmet.

A new day, a new time zone.

The little button nose is a bit off, but no, as a variant of the standard marine shaped helmet, it is quite badass.

I personally like it, but I can see how someone wouldn't. You can always trade it away for a different Techmarine, even.

Eye of Terra.

The beakie helmets just suck especially when found on the older models back in the day.

This helmet on the Techmarine has to be one of my all-time favorites. I think it has to do with the details.

Then again, most techmarines look cool to me...

Bookwrack, it actually looks far better to me in that picture.

Does anyone else have pics of this model that they could post?

Techmarine in that finecast pic looks like he's had his foot run over by a rhino. At least with resin it will be easy to swap the head if you don't like this one. You could replace it with the techmarine head from the ravenwing sprue though it does look similar.

I have both of the techmarine with harness models. The helmeted one is far superior. It matches his armor it's unique and looks badass.

If you could get those helmets in large quantities, I'd but nothing else on my marines - The design is awesome for a mechanic-based Chapter (Iron Hands n stuff...)

I like it. The helmet has that Optimus Prime look to it. Forge World should make it for Iron Hand armies.

Love the helmet, but then again, I also prefer the beaky helmets.

I think the helmet does look pretty derp.

In my mind some half lobotomized space marine made it himself in the hopes that his captain would hang it on the fridge next to the macaroni art.

If I had that model, I'd have to seriously consider making a paper bag out of greenstuff to go over his head.

Good point! Though I've noticed that the studio seem to be applying the 2nd Ed codex paintscheme rules rather less strictly of late. Never having been all that fond of multicoloured Marine officers, I can't say I'm dismayed at this development.

There is a version of this helmet without the Dark Angel grill. It comes on the Storm Raven sprue.
