I prefer the Driod. Way, way more customizable, and the Widgets (which apple doesn't have) are really nice to have.

I wish this was a 'checkbox' poll. I'd vote both Blackberry and Android.
Also, "droid" is a specific line of phones. "Android" is the OS.
For all the people voting "iOS" and then complaining that it's too expensive. That makes no sense. Cost is a part of the whole unit and if it's too expensive for you to afford, that's obviously a huge negative strike against it.

Android OS - no way I'm buying anything from the company behind iPatentTroll, as I like to be able to control my own devices, thankyouverymuch.
Substance over style, any day of the week.
I haven't seen anyone using a Windows 7 Mobile phone, Blackberry has too much of a work connotation for my liking, and I didn't think there was anything out with Palm OS these days.

My friend had a Crackberry, and he burned through 4 of them in under a year. Not durable enough for the type of work we do, I guess. Personally, I have the Kyocera Echo. I thought it was gonna be really fragile, and break (as most phones by Kyocera tend to do), but I was pleasantly surprised. Battery life isn't the best, but when you're running GPS, and have dual 3.5" screens, what do you expect?

I went for iPhone, cos it's what I use to do most of my posting on Dakka!
I work 12 hours a day so it's the only way I can stay connected. Other reasons would be the apps (which are sweet), the quality (which is fantastic) and the fact that it's an iPod too (which means I don't need one!)

Got to agree with this. Apple has integration nailed down, but because I work in IT, I want to be able to manipulate the guts of my device. I've used them more at work than with my personal one currently, which I only purchased back in July, but I've already wiped it 3 times with the amount of customization I've tried out.
Besides, I am of the opinion that if you have Apple products (personally not professionally), you're honestly more of a tool. Automatically Appended Next Post: Dysartes wrote:

My colleague and I have heard that Windows 7 Mobile (Mango?) is actually not bad, but doesn't have near the amount of customization which AndroidOS does.

People still call each other?
I communicate about 99% of the time via text, unless I'm calling a grandparent or something. Also, I can't count how many times I've found it handy to have the built in GPS in my Droid. I love that thing.

Don't unless it is the updated model. We have at least 20 of these at my work and they have garbage battery life and get quite warm.

Well, I've used a Blackberry, Droid, and iphone, and I prefered the iphone to all of them.
But, I love my dumbphone. It was decent battery life, great call quality, and awesome for texting...everything a phone is made for. The coolest thing it can do is slide open
