Out of the current codexex witch one have the BEST fluff in your opinion?
( We already have the "worst fluff" thread like 100x times )

To me - the Necron one. Aldo I don't believe in it's fluff ( being an Imperial fan ) the stories and legends there and breath taking. The atmosphere is all scary like and the descriptions are epic.

For Emperor and Imperium!!!!

Orks, hands down. It's over the top but doesn't ask you to take it seriously like other codexes. It intentionally funny but it can also be dark if you read it right. The stories are ridiculous and let it's believable, you can actually imagine Orks doing that.

Gonna agree.

Orks, because feth you, I want a story where it's not all grimdark! I want people getting smashed with beer and with blunt objects!

This caught me off guard.

I have three general favorites, Necrons, for their ancient cosmic horror tale of a mortal race who were so singular in purpose, so consumed by hatred, they sold their souls to horrible gods for power. Dark Eldar, it was just very well-written, the space Fey feel appealed to me. And the Orks, for being generally hilarious and awesome, while also horrifying and brutal. In an Orky way.

Orks,
cause its almost as if they look at the world through a childs eyes..... a very disturbed child, but a child nonetheless.

and for all the above reasons..... grimdark and hateful, blah blah...etc

So far, it's Orks for me, for all the above reasons.

Though, I am gonna say I support BloodAngelsxNecrons, if only for the sheer lulz it brings to everyone.

I have never heard of this 'Witch' codex, nor their fluff. It must be good if you say they have the best fluff.

In terms of who has the next best fluff, I'd have to agree with a lot of other people here and say Orks. Space Marines (and the Imperium) may be the stars of 40k, but the universe wouldn't be the same without our favorite green skins.

That picture (and countless discussions about the bit of the codex it alludes) needs to go away IMO.

I will also side with the orks on fluff. Its good wacky fun.

At one point this was funny, but its been posted in nearly every thread that's similar to this one that its no longer humorous. I don't recall their being any fist bumping in my codex. I guess you all read the wrong codex.

It was the best fluff wise. The upgrades and options needed some point recalculations, but everything else was great.

The same joke endlessly dragged out at every opportunity is a poor substitute for wit.
Often midly amusing at best, these images do not get funnier the more you use them.

Actually the joke is as a mayfly that rises for a moment in the summer sun, then is gone.
The meme is just its lifeless corpse carried on the stream.

That's because the very definition of a meme is a joke past its expiration date.

Dark Eldar...

Which other codex do you have people putting back holes in coffins as a trap to take down their rivals?

Or lasso STARS and use them as personal power sources?

Or pull Chapter Battle Barges and smash them into a rival's neighborhood just to cause chaos as if the marine chapter were just toys to be used?

Or intentionally bring poisoned weaponry to the battle field because using guns that can fire black holes into ranks of marines would ruin the fun of the slaughter and pain?

Orks... fight... Zzzzzzz.....

I love the new Grey Knight stuff.

Also the new Dark Eldar book bored me to tears. "Vect is the most intelligent Dark Eldar" Great! How about writing about stuff that actually happens rather than expositionary drivel? To each his own I s'pose.

To me, the Ork codex. Most others aren't bad, either, but as another poster quite rightly put it: the ork codex is funny - what with the orks' disregard for their own safety and general simple-mindedness - and yet has enough grimdark to also be dramatic, and enough hyperbole to be 'cool'.

Although I must admit, it does take a lot of willpower to take a cool ork seriously. But if you manage to, it is just as awesome as any space marine or eldar or what have you.

"We train young men to drop fire on people, but their commanders won't allow them to write "feth" on their airplanes because it's obscene!" (Colonel Kurtz in Apocalypse Now)

And you know what's funny? "feth" is actually censored on a forum about a dystopia where the nice guys are the ones who kill only millions of innocents, not billions.
