Subject: Worldeaters Dread and Zerkers. *Daemon Prince PIP 17/11 Need help with sword ideas*
You have some great stuff here! I love your foreshadowed titan foot (or whatever that thing was )
Great work on the DP, especially the head!
I do have to agree with Ghost on this one, though
A Kvlt Ghost wrote:You've got some absolutely gorgeous minis there - that's one of the coolest DPs I've ever seen - but those mould lines are really jarring and it's sad to see them on such lovingly built models
Biohazard wrote: That may be the kind of thing Ill go for. Possibly with Greens instead of reds though. I have to wait till later in the week though as I only have Goblin Green and dont fancy mixing up a load of different shades from that.
I think green for the sword is a great idea. You need something to break up all the red. Have you chosen a primary spot color for your army?
Keep up the great work!

I feel that I am in the same place: needing a side project to catch my attention!
I like that you're putting the zerker ears not on the heads of the termies. It looks good and is a unique solution!
CC-wise: the head doesn't bother me so much as the shield on his chest. What were you going for there? It doesn't seem to really mesh well with the surrounding style.
Keep up the good work! (and we are all eagerly looking foreward to a TITAN update )

The waist is looking a bit funny, imho. What if you mounted the hull a bit farther back? Maybe halfway on the angled section of the stormraven part. That would give a more low slung look and get rid of the Barbie waist
Keep up the great work!

My pleasure
Biohazard wrote:Played with the hip mounting point.
I think this also depends on which head you choose. Warhound style head says more low slung. Skull or Corvus seems like it would be more upright.
Biohazard wrote:For the head Im looking at taking cues from this.
I personally like the idea of the Corvus. A titan is hard enough to deal with, but one that spews CC termies? Fuggetabowdit.
Biohazard wrote:And the inspiration for the saw.
So what's the plan now that you're not going with the saw?
Biohazard wrote:The weapon arm will be connecting to the torso at the shoulder there, Im still unsure if I will use the Defiler leg bits or come up with something else. Thoughts?
The defiler bits seem a bit spindley to me. This is a titan we're talking about, after all
Biohazard wrote:Ive tried reposting the last few pics. Please let me know what you can see. Thanks
I feel like I've been target locked! Run! Run! I like the cyclops head a lot! Great use of the magnagrapple! What do you think about cutting down the cheek plates a little bit? I don't like the head without them, but they look a tad large here. That or not integrated yet, I'm not sure which.

Ive dug out the marine torso it aint pretty under there and just tacked the front plate of the Sarcophogus on at the moment. Like I say Im trying for an almost Imperial mirror image of the Chaos Dread (who Im now going to be naming Krueger the Undying ) Let me know what you think.
Great looking dread, and I love those powerclaws!
My only CC is that it doesn't really look imperial. With the Skull helm and power claw it looks like a Chaos mirror image of the Chaos dread Have you thought about doing a bit of sculpting on the helmet? I think you could make it look like an oversized marine helmet quite easily...
In other news, when do we get to see the final version of the head for your titan?
Keep up the good work!

Good to have you back, Biohazard!
I was looking at the above pic and had an idea (the worth of which will be determined by you )
What about:
Spoiler:
I think it gives a more predatory, fast feel than the other way. This theory is proven by the number of people running away with this version compared to the old one I realize that it would probably be a lot of work (at least more than my MSPaint time investment) but I thought I should at least pass it on. Let me know what you think!
Also, love the new name: "Gorehound"!
Keep up the great work! Rawson

I like it! It really resembles a warhound cockpit now! What is your plan for the sarcophagus opening? I'd say some plasticard (or other flatish bit) to stop up the hole and add the magna grapple cyclops eye again!

You know me, I love everything you do, Biohazard. But not this time. That thing has got to go! It doesn't fit the style of the rest of the titan at all: it's organic, has tusks, and stone trinkets tied on with rope. Now, the overall idea isn't so bad (I think you were even discussing a mouthy part earlier in the thread), but it needs to be more teeth "a la FW chaos Reaver" and not WHFB Great Maw.
Keep up the great work!

I think getting rid of the eyes/nose and adding a grill behind is an improvement, but, IMHO, this bit would look better on a shoulder or something as a world eater icon and not as a mouth. Even if you paint it bronze, get rid of the stones and such, it just isn't big enough to look good. As it is, it kind of looks like this guy:
Ok, maybe that's a bit harsh, but I say, "If you want a fanged maw on this guy, I think you should really go for it."

I should also add that I've placed an order for a certain set of bits from the Ork Stompa kit. As to what 'it' is, I'll leave you to guess among yourselves.

Much better than the other, imho! It matches better with the chaos-y bits you already have on there.
KrautScientist wrote:
My only nitpick would be that the single eye is still too easy to overlook. That may be changed by adding some contrasting colour to it, but at the moment, it really doesn't read as the Titan's eye.
I agree. I think a more prominent eye socket is in order
Biohazard wrote: Rawson, here are a couple more closeups of the head. Its made using a Defiler Battlecannon mount (minus the cannon itself) Two Termi teleport beacons and a head from the WHFB Ogre Kingdoms Stonehorn kit. Ive wanted to use the head for ages, I bought it to use on the Gorehound then realised the scale was all wrong. It never actually occured to me to build a smaller walker lol.
This is way more what I dreamed the demon engines would look like: much more of a blend of organic and mechanic. I like it! I imagine with your "no GS" policy, we won't see any other organics on the bloodstalker
Biohazard wrote: I just need to sort out some proper weapon options for it and GS the gaps then it sonto paint.
I'm thinking TL Battlecannon and CCW for the arms (gotta have more beef than TL las or ac for a beast like this ). And what about that reaper AC on top?
Hey, Biohazard! I'm glad you could find those volcano cannons, they make for a convincing turbolaser
Adding the weapon arms does raise a new concern: the Gorehound looks a bit thin in the shoulders with the turbolaser tucked up there. What about building the shoulders out a bit, like on the bloodstalker? On the other hand, you don't notice it so much on the CCW arm, so maybe another solution is to lengthen the upper arm section for the turbolaser.
