I'm talking about the ones who are still alive but left their legion like Russ, Khan, Vulkan, and Corax. What happened to them, and are they coming back?

They all disppeared into th Warp and are dead as far as everyone is concerned.

The most info we have is that all of them ran to the warp, 'cept for Khan, who went after some DE.

It's possible that he will once the story progresses and they find those artefacts. Problem is, the story can never progress, because if it does, it becomes Warhammer 41K.

Pretty much every loyal primarch that is alive or missing has some lore behind them about returning. Vulkan is going to return when the artifacts are all found. Russ will return when one he completes his secret quest (to kill the chaos marines in the EoT most likely) or "at the end of times, when he is most greatly needed", Guilliman's wounds are slowly healing in his stasis pod, Khan is currently hunting down all the DE, The Lion is currently waiting on the rock asleep for a time when he is greatly needed.

GW likes to throw these flavor texts into the codexs to give this feeling of hope that the primarchs will return, withotu giving any details to the how or when. Adds some mystery and suspense to the space opera, which is good.

I admit I dont know anything on corax of the raven guard other then he ran off into the EoT and disappeared.

The rest of the primarchs are either confirmed dead or chaosy.

My bet? Not at all. The galaxy map may have the WAGGH clusters shift, the nid infestation may get beefier, more tomb worlds labeled, Craftworlds move a bit, but i wouldnt hope for anything more then some new tales of battle between *insert Imperium force* and *insert various xeno race*. I think in a wilder chance, they may progress the story of the EoT and cadia from one standstill to another standstill and maybe move on from the 3rd battle for Armageddon to the 4th battle. As far as the overall plot? Dont hold your breathe.

If they bring the Primarchs back, then they'd have to bring back the Traitor Primarchs back as well, as they'd see them as rivals they would need to crush. Then there'd be the problem of balancing them- if they're too powerful, the MeQs win everything, if they're too weak, GW gets a gak load of nerd rage from MeQ players.

It's never been, as it were, canonically speculated in studio material, it's just one of those assumptions people uncritically repeat as though it were definite.

good though that would be, GW is a money-making capitalist bussiness and it's prime goal is to make money, unlike with D&D where the main goal is to make a good game. This means that they'll keep it at pretty much exactly this place in time because it's good for sales. Like KilroyKiljoy said, it'll never be Warhammer 41K.

They were 'lost' so they aren't playable or even around in the fluff.

It's supposed to be a never ending war every day, not a happy universe. Bringing the Primarch's back gives the Imperium way too much hope.

I don't mean having them be playable characters, that would make their armies a bit OP. But I would like to hear something of them in fluff.

We have heard a lot about them in fluff.

They were Primarchs. They were around in the Great Crusade. They served the Emperor. They did stuff. They helped kick Horus' ass. Then some stuff happened and they died and/or vanished. Of the latter, no one knows where they went or when they will come back. If ever. They're probably dead, though.

It is a mystery to everyone (TM).

They really won't. The whole point of the timeline is the Imperium is teetering on the edge, about to fall with enemies on all sides. It's been stuck there since forever.

Id love some primarchs as much as the next guy but i think it will really change things in the whole 40k universe the largest thing i can see happaning is maybie salamanders finding another artifact, and even that is unlikely

Vulkan did not go into the EoT. He went off on his own. As far as I know the rest did go into the EoT, or were lost on the way.

Vulkan - Dunno where, left, return when they find the artifacts/at the end of time.

Ferrus Manus - Dead by Fulgrim

Rowboat - Essentially dead. In stasis. By Fulgrim

Lion - Sleeping somewhere in the rock.

Sanguinus - Killed by Horus

Dorn - Dead by random chaos ship suicidal boarding action.

All nine accounted for...Sort of.

Most dismiss it as wishful thinking on the Ultra's part, but if GW need to, they've set up the option for Emperor Guilliman.

And does essentially killing two primarchs make Fulgrim potentially a bigger threat than Angron? He'd probably last longer outside the Warp...

I don't think Fulgrim is a threat at all. The daemon controlling him has some brass balls, but I think, if given the chance, Fulgrim would happily walk back to the big E's sunny side of the street
