Being eccentric for the sake of being eccentric doesn't make your music good.

they have mastered most every genre of music, and have more than a good time doing it
masters they are, and haters there are many. I just spread the good news, and let others decide

Hints of BOC, but also Dave Matthews.

They are musically adept, versatile, but ultimately hamstrung by their attempts at 'wackiness'. I reject the zany.

I don't doubt that, however their name sounds both pathetic and annoying at the same time.

Just listened to Pure Guava, I found the vocalist to be rather and the instrumental side sounded like they were farting out there own soundtrack, overall not impressed would not recommend this album to others.
If people want a good band listen to that's completely bizarre then may I recommend Frank Zappa.

Correction: Smiths fan. Not particularly bothered about his solo stuff, though he is one of the greatest British singers of all time.

Glad to see you are rejeting bands for sound reasons...
Most bands have absolute s*it names. Most are some combination of : dumb, pretentious, etc.
I'm not a fan of ween, but the name doesnt even factor into the equation...

Selfish C**t is a great name for a band. There was also a band round these parts called Happy F**king Birthday. Excellent.

What I don't get are the BOC comparisons they sound nothing like Ween, well at least "Tyranny and Mutation" and "Secret Treaties" don't I stopped caring for the band after those two albums mainly because
they started drifting away from there more traditional hard rock sound.

Long-time Ween fan here, Pure Guava is my favorite album of theirs (there are some I haven't heard). Few bands sound like they are having as much fun as those guys. Saw them live once, they covered Zeppelin's 'All of My Love', and it was fantastic.
Can't think of the name of the song, the one with the Mexican telling the story of trying to find his brother's killer, and threatening to kill him with poisoned chicken - help me out, what is that track called? It is hilarious!
