Hello Everyone, you may know me from such threads as Mighty Morphin Power Primarchs and Lucifer's Mostly Ork and some Imperial WIP blog. Well now I've finally made the plunge and chosen a chapter to stick with forever

in the past few months Ive made many 'start-of' blogs, but have never gotten very far. Other than my orks, all my ideas have crashed and burned after a while. Well not this one. Ive held back on posting any images (except for my 'test' model) until I had a lot of work to show, because lots of pretty pics attract more viewers and C&C than just one or two

So, here we go, the start of my Crimson Fists blog

(if anyone reads this while Im uploading pictures, Im posting this first bit before I edit and add pics and descriptions in case I lose anything. Just be patient )

First up is my Scout Squad

With a scratch build AC

Made from ork loota bits, two ork mines, an ork shoulder pad, the autocannons from the LR sprue, a normal las. arm for a dread, and bits from the Ravenwing sprue (and the chain)

Im planning on having all the scouts finished before I moved on, then the 4 assault marines for completion, but after that what would everyone like to see?

I have another dread with dual FW autocannon arms, the first dread, LRC, 4 rhinos, 2 R.backs with converted turrets I got from a trade, a pred, an oop metal apoth in wip, 3 oop Thunder Marines with glaives (1 wip), and tons of oop metal termies including a chappy and libby. My sternies and the rest of the command squad minus the champ and apoth are build in progress though

Great work here I'm loving all of it so far! Your Crimson Fists look awesome.

Ambitious banner work, and it turned out well! For text, have you tried a micron pen? I find that I get much better results than painting text.

The scouts trousers were bleached bone, but I thought the grey would work better for my eventual planned urban board and basing

Also, that termy is my favorite as well

Ok, painting a ton of scouts is really boring (they are all like 80% done) so I started painting a dread too.

I made a few experimental army lists, can anyone tell me how they are/ what I should change?

really? the assault sarge's fist REALLY looks like the aspiring champ 's...

as for the list, seeming they are not competitive, I'd say go for it! they're all good

It had banners for writing on the fist, so unless the guy I got it from was an epic converter, Im pretty sure its from the dev box. if someone could find a pic of the dev sgt with a powerfist, that would be great

Any suggestion on which list is best?

And all the lists are made of stuff I have/plan on making regardless (ex: the MoTF)

so I could add vindis to other lists or something like that.

Hello all, heres an update for you all

I have 10 scouts, the dready, and my command squad all waiting for an ink wash. I still have to finish the sniper scouts, and I have started on some projects.

One of which was my captain. Relic blade, combi melta, and whatever else I give him. tell me what you think




And the other was my MoTF with Conversion Beamer. Any tips for making him look more techy?

The main part of it was an ork loota's gun

I want to make his legs bulkier looking somehow

maybe a mechanical leg harness?

I think it's a great start! Lots of convincing bits!

CC: His pose looks a bit unatural, I don't know if you have some spare devastator arms/weapons about that could be cannibalized. Also, I'm not sold on the missle launcher front end. The "beamer" part of the name makes me think less projectile, more las/electric. Have any great bits that look like a lens or conductor?

Whoops, I forgot to cut out the missile from the front

I made a thread in the p&m section about him and as someone suggested im going to be angling the gun slightly and replacing his left arm

Have you done any test bases? It makes me sad to see such a nice army without anything on their bases! Also, great freehand work! Always happy to see a fellow son of Dorn!

Not yet, but I will soon, planning on urbanish with rocks and maybe grass clumps

Next up on my wip table is the sniper scouts (about 40% done) and a termy chappy

Ill post progress on the MoTF soon as well

if you noticed my new title update, then you'll know what this post is about. I completely overhauled the MoTF, thinking he looked too small and kinda awkward.

Using termy arms (cut down) and termy legs (waist shaved down) with the old MotF's body, head, and weapon+ backpack, I made this

Also, any tips on how to make a robotic stabilizer off the backpack or something? I want to make something that looks like its holding up and supporting the beamer, cause as it is I dont think he could hold it one handed (as badass as it looks, it just seems too heavy )
