Since we bitch about GW, let's get some PP in too. And I believe they rightly deserve my wrath after making Skorne Cataphracts. NOTHING FITS! All the harpoons won't sit in their hands, the shoulder pads don't rest correctly and all the flags keep falling off. Tied for first comes the wracks. Who the hell thought it was a good idea to attach a little suspended metal weight with a half link of chain to the main model I'll never know. I wish these both were plastic, I guess is what I'm trying to say. GRRRRRRR.

Yeah, the Kayazy are not very good models. As for assembly terms, Exemplar Errants are pretty high up there, as are Steelhead Halberdiers. Thee point joins are the devil.

I keep hearing about them and shudder! I was playing Legion as my main Hordes faction, and Menoth in WM so I never really thought about picking them up. But I am starting Trolls now, I hear some lists are good with them, so now I'm nervous.

I like all the Kayazys except the unit leader. The Underboss is great.

Clearly you do not remember the original Satyxis Raider models.

The original Satyxis were certainly not the greatest, but I really wish they could've avoided the goat faces from the newer sculpts. I love the bodies, poses, horns, etc. but the faces (and hair on Ms. Hair-In-Eyes) are just plain bad. The original pSkarre model was also pretty bad in the face, making her look like an angry man instead of a killer queen.

But really, the one that irks me the most is eDenny. PP has the Nagash issue with her: great model in terms of rules, bad model. Not as bad as Nagash, obviously, but what's with her head and why is her weapon so misformed?

Ashlynn! Her pose is just odd and her head looks like an old potato. Serously what is she doing? Why is she swinging her pistol behind her back and if that is supposed to be a pose in motion why is her body completly static?

i can stomach kayazy, mostly because they always perform.

Nyss of any kind really (*looking at you Hunters and Striders*), are pains to assemble. As far as aesthetics, not a fan of the Gorax, either of them. And I'll never be completely happy until Ashlynn get's a properly badass sculpt. With my Wracks, because I ran into that same WTF moment, I decided to solve it by sticking the chain into the hole it feeds through and bending it over. It turns out looking fine, and I doubt many even notice. As easy a fix as it was, the stability from it means I will never really worry about it falling off.

I'm currently putting together a set of used Nyss Hunters that the prior owner felt it necessary to form partial-body welds out of superglue. So... not only do I get to experience the joy of assembling them, but also of getting superglue out of their details. I think I just about got them.

As a side note, I actually like the Black Ogryn models. I think they're pretty fitting for pirate ogryn, they remind me of more modern-day Solamian pirates.

I agree there is nothing other wrong on the B13th minis than the scale. Anastasia is the same by the way, they were probably done by the same sculptor as they both came out around Legends if I remember correctly.

If we are talking about awful sculpts that show none of the values visible in the concept art the original Gorax would rate pretty high.

Right, but they fixed that and new Gorax is best Gorax.

I don't mind that model all too much. Off the top of my head the one that seems quite odd is the Behemoth. Sort of looks like it's tipping over due to how top heavy it is, even for Khador jacks.

Worst models for assembly have got to be the crabjacks/mortenebra and things like... the Iron Fang Pikemen. It's virtually guaranteed that you'll have to brass rod every single pike after about a week. That's assuming they aren't broken from the box. ( they will always come in horribly bent U shapes )

Ashlynn's pose is pretty harsh. It could have just used a little bit of touching up to make it appear more fluid. I've seen lots of Ashlynn conversions and they're all really cool. About the only other thing I'd like is an alt sculpt for her that is closer to her artwork.


pDenny is one of those things where the plastic model is x100 better than the metal one. It's kind of a hard thing though, since her wardrobe is kind of designed to suck. The helmet has a purpose in the story ( along with her other gear ) but I'm not super keen on it. Maybe if the horns had been more frontal/up ala Dragon Warrior instead of down like a Black Dragon. Not really sure what would make that better.

The behemoth certainly does look even more top-heavy and precarious than other warjacks except maybe the Deathjack. I wonder how hard it would be to find properly reinforced-looking legs for these guys...

I think that one of the sculpts that is farthest from the artwork is Cylena Raefyll. She looks super in the art but her model makes it look like she has one of those WWI leather flying helmets on her.

Kossite Woodsmen are horrendous to assemble as well.

As far as looks, um, I guess I'll go with original sculpt blighted archers. Those guys were goofy.

I couldn’t agree more. Whilst the new Satyxis Raider models are easier to assemble than the older ones (no more issues with the whips), the older ones had a better sculpt IMO. I tried to track down a full squad of the OOP models a while back but I wasn’t able to track down a full squad. Hopefully the Satyxis Raider models get a resculpt sometime in the future. If anyone has a full sized, unpainted squad of the OOP models, I’d be happy to buy it off them.

I also dislike the current eDenny model. The pose is awkward and the overall proportions on the figure are wrong (reminds me of Toot from “Drawn Together”). Hopefully the next eDenny model is as good as the sculpt from her current prime model.

Nyss hunters are rather infamous for this... I only know about them because a lot of troll players refer to them as our best shooting unit (since we can take them as minions/mercs/whatever).

I can only speak for myself, but for trollbloods my least favorite models would be the scattergunners... although I have yet to see them in-person, and I'm wondering if they'd look better there. But I love most of the troll stuff and even the scattergunners have grown on me.

The new plastic multi-beasts stand to be the worst Troll models ever based off the in-production pics.

I will say this: of all the models I have ever assembled in my entire life, only the Nyss Hunters made me look up and FIND an online guide to assembling them, because, brother, it was THAT hard. And I didn't even pin them like it suggested...
