Hello, Dakka. Now, do the White Scars chapter make wide use, or have Terminators?

They would still have terminators, but I think they would prefer to operate as Vanguard/Sternguard vets.

How many Termies do you think would be in the whole army?

They probably have a normal number of suits(60-80), but they just don't use them as much.

Why would they not? I know that the WS are a bike army, and all, but they could make use of them.

Mobility is how the WS operate.

A slow, extra-tough unit is kinda counter intuitive of them.

What would they use Termies for, then?

If someone has thier 4th ed Mairne Codex available pleas econfirm for me (im at work) I think the example traits to take for white scars had the drawback limiting something heavy, it was either a Heavy slot or 0-1 limitation on Termies.

Mount them on Land Raiders. The White Scars do not solely use bikes. Stuf like Rhinos and Land Raiders would be used by them.

In the rare instances they need to undertake a Space hulk boarding action? I mean, it's not like they can go racing down the corridors of the Space Hulk on their bikes, now can they?

Or maybe they can, cause they're White Scars.

Why not? It answers like, every question you ask in the threads you make.

Just get some coffee, and sit down sifting through the Lexicanum for a good 4 hours.

That actually sounds nice. I will have to do that every time I have a question. I just sometimes like finding out things for myself, by reading books. Guess Lexicanum would be better.

I would have thought it would be perfectly fluffy to run White Scar Terminators-in a Drop pod, with lightning claws seems the fluffiest way to me. WHite Scars value speed over everything, so don't possess much heavy armour-like Land Raiders. TH/SS termies are tough, but too slow to really fit into the Scars IMO. But a DP full of LC assault termies seems to fit in; a hard, fast, surgical strike. Might not actually be any good, but would be fluffy....I think so anyhow..

Terminators in Codex: Space Marines can't take drop pods.

I could see them making use of teleportation, though. Just because an army tends to prefer one fighting style over another doesn't meant that they will completely ignore the latter, so I could definitely see a normally-mobile army like White Scars using Terminators when they needed to.

Terminators teleportation ability makes them highly mobile assault units initially. My guess is they operate a small contingent for that purpose.

Clearing out space hulks and doing boarding actions probably; same stuff most chapters use them for.

The Lexicanum mentions are very valid. It's also a great site to go to if you want to kill time at work!

On the table, terminators in land raiders definitely have awesome maneuverability, especially outflanking.

The only thing they specifically avoid are dreadnoughts. But teleporting Termies, or mechanized ones, seem totally in-character for White Scars to close the door on an enemy after the fastest elements chase them down.

Well they actually kind of do completely ignore the latter, as they have 0 devastators, 0 dreadnought, and only a few, modified tanks.

When did the White Scars become a non-Codex chapter?

They arn't...I don't play marines and didn't realise Termies couldn't take Drop Pods.

As for the no Devastators and no Dreads, I read it's justagainst their beliefs. It seems to me that White Scars fall between too stools. They have some claer differences in doctorine and organisation, but they just arn't quite divergant enough to be non-codex..

They've been somewhat deviant for a while.

They have brotherhoods rather than companies, stormseers rather than librarians, they have a "master of the hunt", too many fast attack vehicles for them ever to fit into a codex organisation, no dreads, no Devastators, few tanks (the ones they do have are heavily modifed) and don't deploy tac squads normally, instead they ride in on their bikes and dismount (dragoons) in the fluff.

It haven't been stated anywhere that they don't use tactical squards. Of cause they use tactical squards, it's the back bone of a space marine chapter, and not to deploy them is simply stupid. However, they do not use tactical marines with heavy weapons (Missile launchers, heavy bolters etc.)
I'm certain that they both deploy Terminators in land raiders, and tactical marines in Rhinos. Remember, it is said that the great Khan himself let a battleforce at the Siege of Terra from a Rhino!

Not to be rude Luna but where does it mention terminators on that page?

He asked a specific question, a valid one at that.

Every Dakkanaught gets a 4+ Pinch of Salt save.
When you suffer a Falling Sky hit, roll a D6 - on a 4+ the hit is ignored as per the Pinch of Salt save. On a 1-3 panic insues - you automatically fail common sense tests for the next 2 weeks and get +7 to your negativity stat. -Praxiss

I'd imaging all chapters would have terminators, for white scars I bet assualt terminators would be the most common knowing the fluff of the White Scars

They could also use terminators to send as aid to friendly forces. Not everyone likes bike support but everyone loves terminator support.
