If Immigration and Customs Enforcement dropped the ball here it would be terrible, and it is a cautionary tale of giving a false alias! So I guess we can have a laugh/cry if the investigation shows this is what happened! No sympathy for the girl from me if it is.

Couldn't the copstell the difference between a 14 year old and a 22 year old? I mean goddamn, do these card everyone they date cause they think they might all be jailbait? Sure, she panicked and acted stupid, but the authorities were still utterly incompetent here.

I've seen some 14good year old girls who could easily pass for 18+, and some 22 year olds who looks like they were 15-16... unless I see a picture of the girl (which they wont release, as she is a minor), I can't tell.

I agree. The authorities were just as stupid as the girl.

Seems like a lot of stuff for this to be true huh? That is why I am waiting to see what the investigation says, either we can laugh at her and the ICE, or the media for jumping on a non story. Although it was funny enough for me to go ahead and post it here......

I have to agree a bit here. Being 14 and looking 14 isnt really my concern, as Ive met a BUNCH of people in my life that could easily be much older/younger then they look. My problem is though, they just took her at her word and that was it? No finger prints? No photo ID nothing? Really? Damn if thats how it really works, Ill just tell the police Im the President of the US of A next time Im getting pulled over.

You'd be surprised at how much real life is not like CSI. Take all the fingerprints you want, there isn't necessarily anything to compare them to.
Optimally, though, yes, you have a fingerprint from a previous booking to compare to, etc etc, but that is actually not something you can always bank on.

Is it really the case that she didn't speak up when the reality of deportation came up? I assume they didn't deport her on the day of capture and that there's a bit of preamble to do this. And that at no one attempted to verify her identify? I assume she tried to explain the mistake at some point and no one checked her story? That at no point she even had access to a telephone?
All seems a bit unlikely to me. If true then people are laughing at a 14 year old who did something stupid and ended up being taken from her family and dumped on the street in a foreign country. Does anyone think that is really 'justice'?
But that's a pretty big IF, I find it hard to believe.

They attempted to verify her identity, couldn't which is fairly common, and deported her. As it turns out Columbia has a less than complete set of biometrics for each and every one of it's citizens.

I know everytime I see a girl sitting in mens laps, smoking pot I think to myself there is a girl CRYING out for help, clearly being held against her will. When I see tha girl tagging everyone in the photos I also think, she must want me to find her, she's lost and all alone.
RESCUE THE SORORITY GIRLS OF AMERICA! Please bring them home, they too are being held against there will at institutions of higher learning all across this nation. Acting promiscuous, smoking marijuana, and posting the names of everyone in thier pictures. Oh the perfidy.
Now that I found out she wasn't in prison in Columbia I retract my statement "JUSTICE" it's just little "justice" because at least she had to live in Columbia, even if she seems to have been pretty willing.

Two: The woman whose name she gave, who was in this country illegally, somehow had a passport.

As always, I'm sure the hippy media will have a field day with it. If this happened over here and she would get about 8 million in compensation and a personal apology off the prime minister, and the Guardian would have a nice family picture with her wearing a sweater on the front page, and she would tell us all her hopes and dreams and say she loves watching X-factor.
Although, we don't deport anybody, even if they rape people, as long as they have a cat.

Why should they believe what she said beforehand?
She's a criminal suspect prior to anything else.
She did something stupid, and the authorities were lazy.

although the young lady wasnt thinking with her head, the cops should of done a background check & try to find her parents or something rather than deport her
