Urban Mammoth is pleased to post photos of the upcoming Junker Sand Raider Decurion model for the Urban War Second Edition rules. These photos are from the painting table of Ángel Giráldez who will be doing the paint job for this exciting new model.

Dune Raider units are equipped with rugged quad bikes that are usually fitted with heavily modified versions of standard infantry weapons. These legionaries are generally employed for scouting out enemy positions, harrying isolated pockets of enemy resistance and providing support to the slower foot based elements of the army. These fast attack elements of the Junker Legions also have a well-deserved reputation for depravity, and mobile strike forces are often detailed off to pillage and despoil regions deep within enemy territory.

As is the norm in the Legions, Dune Raider Decurions have gained their rank through merit and many hard fought battles. They invariably lead from the front and will always be found in the thick of the fighting, or hunting out the richest loot.

The Junker Sand Raider Decurion model will be released as part of the Urban war February 2012 releases. For more information about upcoming Urban War figures please visit our New Releases page. The New Releases page not only has photos and release dates for our upcoming figures but also has links to images of the Urban War Second Edition stat cards which will be included with the model.

We will be positing more photos of the progress that Ángel makes on his paint job for the new Junker Sand Runner Decurion as soon as we receive them from him.

If a marine can sit on one of these bIkes (anyone have a pic?), you'll sell quite a few. In fact, I'd additionally sell them riderless precisely for customers wanting to use them for counts-as in their own armies.

Yup, would definatelly like to have some of these without riders to make into rough riders for my catachan army.

I second the people above wanting the bike separately.

Now that I'm home and can see the pics, I think it's a pretty cool model.

I like the guns actually - they're pistol-grip shotguns that have just been bolted on.

Urban Mammoth has added new photos of the paint job for the upcoming Junker Dune Raider Decurion. Ángel Giráldez continues his progress on the model and has put down the first series of base coats on the figure.

This figure is part of the February new releases for the Urban Mammoth Second Edition sci-fi games.

New photos of the model should be available in a few days.

Not really my cup of tea, the mix of the mundane ATV and high tech Roman just does not jibe the way it would if the ATV was more fanciful or the Roman more normal.

That being said Urban War has some great cyborgs, robots and other stuff so I look forward to more.

I think that Junker (Gladiators included) and Koralon are the weakest ranges of Urban War, and Viridian the best. The Quad would be a nice thing to have as part of a bit program but I doubt Urban Mamooth will offer it as a separated option.

This may seem like a horrible nitpick, the the "Urban War" logo seems haphazardly posted on top of the mini in those images; even some of the white background remains. It looks... unprofessional...

This is a pretty cool model, though i think the flowing cape and crest on the helmet are a little silly looking. Those could easily be clipped/shaved/filed away though. All in all, an interesting and pretty well executed model

I would never use these in any army, but i really like the look. nice stuff if you ask me. The one with the chain gun is awsome sauce.
