A question probably easily answered, but here it is: Do the DE worship Slaanesh or was he/she/it just created by the fall? I know the fall created Slaanesh, but I was unsure if the Dark Eldar actually worship it or if they stick to the traditional Eldar gods.

Dark Eldar are just as terrified of Slaanesh as any other Eldar. They do not worship he-she. DE also don't worship the old Eldar gods.

This is the closest thing the Dark Eldar do to religious practices:

They do feed souls to Slaanesh, but this is not becasue they worship him, but becasue they don't want him to eat theirs

The DE appease slaanesh. At least I believe that was their old fluff.

They siphon life energy or some junk like that to live forever so they don't die and get snatched up by slaanesh.

Actually, it is living in the webway that drains their souls. Craftworld Eldar would have the same problem, Spirit Stone and Path or not. Spirit Stones only catch the soul in the moment of death, not a continuous leach.

Thanks for that. So that's why Craftworld Eldar feel a 'tiredness' within the Webway.

Although it begs a question...how does Slaanesh do it, when the Webway is supposed to be ward-sealdes against the Warp? Or is it because of the connection between Eldar souls (except Harlequins, of course) and Slaanesh?

The galaxy's gone to hell since the Fall of the Eldar. The Great Crusade offered a new beginning (maybe even for the Eldar if they were willing to co-exist with the Imperium), but that Lorgar messed everything up.

Did you guys know Canada has a friggin desert?

Lorgar is the daemon primarch of the word bearers. However, it wasn't he that started the heresy, rather that it was Erebus and Kor Phaeron. A few others (Fabius) also took a major part. Really, the chaos primarchs weren't the ones that were actually in charge of the heresy. (except for Horus maybe.)

Anyways, no; Dark Eldar don't follow slaanesh. At least most of them won't.

On the topic of the Webway gate absorbing their souls: would this occur to humans if they attempted to live within the webway? And is it a permanent loss or can you regain what you lost by staying out of the webway long enough?

No effect on Humans. Unlike Eldar, Humans aren't linked to any of the Powers, or even to the Emperor. In fact, the only reason the Emperor can protect Human souls after death is because they believe in Him as a god (ironic considering He hated religion); in return, their belief in Him strengthens Him in the Warp. It also implies this power would allow Him to reincarnate/restore Himself once the Throne fails. Back to topic, even if Humans stay in the Webway indefinitely, no, they won't feel tired or being drained.

I agree mostly with what you said. However, hasn't the Emprah being turned into something like a warp-god-entitiy, as you mentioned, basically begun to link him to humanity in a way similar to the Eldar and their gods?

Also, no, DE do not worship Slaanesh. IIRC thats the reason they don't have psykers. If they tried to access the power of the warp like other psyker-able species, their souls would be nom-nom'd by Slaanesh almost instantly...I think.

force you and all your friends to fight to the death using your new

Slaanesh who <censored by order of the Inquisition>, until you finally

Yeah, they have a major down on Psykers for this reason.

Baron Sathonyx is reviled because he brought a living Farseer back to Commoragh (risky thing to do), even if he did then bump him off and use his bones as I Ching sticks

DE don't actively worship Slaanesh, but they also refuse to quit behaving as the Ancient Eldar did, just before the fall, which is what created Slaanesh in the first place. They feed Slaanesh, but none of them are actually chaos cultists.

pretty much.

The CWE went all puritan, to repress their urges, and save their souls in Infinity circuits and soulstones to stop Slaanesh getting them. It works, most of the time, but leaves them a shadow of themselves as they can't live full lives or reach their full potential.

The DE party as hard as ever they did, and top up their souls as they drain out the bottom. It works, sort of, but like any drug needs bigger and bigger doses to have an effect.

The ones that dies in the Fall have been called the lucky ones by some CWE. The DE are in denial
