Been wanting to do this for awhile. Just sketching for a few days while at work and came up with something I think will work. Wanted a generic base for the gunz and use magnets for the different types of weapons so I could swap them out. Sat down last night and started cutting up the parts I need, here is what I have so far.
I know they look too neat for Orks, but I will ruff them up a bit when I get the main parts assembled. Still lots of details and rivits to add.

I know its early in the build, but looks to neat for Orks.

I am an ork player that likes neat stuff for Orks but it still should be Orky too. I hope you know what I mean.

Can't wait to see it finished.

I agree they currently look too 'neat', but that would be easily fixed by adding thin plasticard detail and rivets.

The T-shaped chassis look like they're intended to be towed behind vehicles? Add some towing rings/hooks to the ends to help that.

Lots more detail and roughing up to come.

I like it.. Might have to build me a few.. Been thinking about your design since I seen it.. I was thinking of doing it in I Beam sections to build out the frame, and then build on top of that.. Mainly cause i could not see what you were going to do with the tubing sections, also with the I Beam it would look more rigid and orky IMO

very cool, yeah I have ADHD and in 1998 suffered a TBI, so it is difficult for me to sit down and work on modeling.

I am lucky I have been able to work on modeling from time to time for a few minutes at a time. I have my chaos Warlord Titan built, and now I am building a Super-heavy airdrop aircraft. I pointed out the aircraft on VDR and have gone over it with the Games workshop guy in the local store who runs official games for Games workshop. I don't use my Orks much but he is needing me to run Orks alone with 3 other Ork players.... each of us have to have 5K orks and he will bring in orks himself... and it will be everyone attacking an Ork Base.

I was thinking of using I beam as well, but did not have any on hand. I have seen some made with I beam and they look really cool.

Maybe a little seat for a crew member? Or some sort of control box or tool box?

I think i will add a seat to the next one, a tool box would not be hard to do either.. lol.. Surprisingly this only took about a hour to build.. The longest part was the tires with the individual tracks added..

Hey ruff, that looks awesome. That does it, I have to go get some I beam strips. The wheels were the most time consuming and difficult part for me as well.

What size I beam did you use on yours?

Thanks ruff, I will look for some next time I get to the hobby store. I have done rivits on two of the three so far, just need to finish up the last and I will have some final pics up.

lol.. I have 3 in the works right now.. All pieces out and ready to be put together.. I think i am going to do a how to on the next one.. The rivets are going to take forever for me, seeing I will have 4 guns to do plus a grot tank..

I was lucky I had a bunch of rivits already cut up, but I may need some more for the wheels. I always try to keep a bunch on hand but this project may kill my stash.

For sure, do a how to. It really is an easy project, and yours look awesome.

Just got them finished up. I will be working on the other turrets for them next, but for now thery are complete. Went to my comic shop to get some grots and they were sold out, figures. But I did find a box of Warhammer Orc warriors in the discount box for $16.00. Should be able to convert them to 40k easy enough with some left over shoota, slugga and choppa arms.

I am seriously impressed. If I had any criticism of these at all, it would just be my personal preference for a split tail carriage, and again thats just personal preference.

I take my hat off to you sir

Just my 2 cents
