Where do you game when out in Canaan?

Well, nowadays I do most of my gaming in Canaan at home. I'm not around very often though, since I work and live in Boston (Brighton technically) but when I do squeeze a game or two in it tends to be at home! However, I used to game with a group of guys based out of Pittsfield, MA, and we would game at a school nearby after hours. It's probably a good hour from Canaan, but you get used to drives like that when you live in the Northwest Corner

Nice force! I think you should get the last squad, go for the whole company.

I'm curious; did you paint the models recently, or has this force been 25 years or so in the making?

They're primed and on my painting table! It's just a matter of whether or not I can paint them before I get going on my Valhallans. I've just been wanting to do a whole army shot for a long time and I figured it was better to do it today than keep delaying.

This army's been in progress since Summer 2008; this squad was the first I painted, and they're only Crimson Fists because I saw a deal for some assault Marines at the Historicon flea market, and they happened to have Fist shoulder pads!

After painting them, I figured "why not keep going?" and I just so happened to come across loads of old models for cheap that year, and the rest is history!

I know Canaan well, worked there for years, grew up in Winsted CT. Building a table as we speak maybe someday soon have a game or two here at the house.

Spoiler:

Wow, you weren't kidding about having old models in here. That Raquel model must be original RT, right?

It's interesting to see just how much smaller those old models were. The only thing that hasn't gotten bigger with time is their heads.

I'm sorry but the old models that look vastly different from the newer ones really ruin the effect for me. (EX. dreadnought, terminators, some really old marines)

Yup! That whole squad is made of lead Marines. I was really shocked how easy it was to pin them together since lead is so soft. The RTB01 Marines are really, really short compared to modern Marines, moreso than the metals. They're practically a full head shorter.

This army started in the summer of 2008, and it's actually still expanding! I just finished a razorback last night after scrubbing a predator clean. Both models are from 2nd ed, naturally

its ALWAYS admirable to see a player stick with a single army and persevere through all of the paintwork. I find it disparaging that some players, for whatever reason, cant even basecoat their army a single color. I tip my hat to you for your grand creation! Whenever I see miniatures from 3rd edition or older it always brings a smile to my face. Love the old scouts.

finally somebody has put up a half decent Crimson Fist army!!! and by all accounts it looks great!!! Ye theres some good looking CF models but not entire army's!!!

Like you iv got a few rouge trader models scattered about mine. Since i found that Fairy Green stuff spray iv got so much stuff to strip and are now really really re-usable!!! my most rescent find is a couple of the orginal Land Raiders. Only problem is iv hit a writers block as it were. I have no idea whatsoever on what i should do for them in terms of conversion and updating them. Mite go as far as to posting something asking for peoples opinions. To be fair they arnt in the best condition, but they got loads of potential for something. Had thought about doing one as a command HQ Raider and the other as a light scout tank.

Most excellent, sir! I admire your use of the Emperor's Champion as one of your command staff.

Some of the older models in there are ace! I see an old Dreadnought, the old Calgar on his throne, and the Limited Edition Christmas marine.

Thank you for sharing these!
