I'm working on my own Canis model right now, and I'd like to magnetize mine as well, how do you find the hold of the magnets on those metal arms?

More Dakka, The model is the finecast version. I was amazed at how strong the magnets are although i'm not sure how they would hold up with metal

All of these are absolutely crazy awesome! They have such a unique look. Honestly, they take a while to get your eyes adjusted to, but they look fantastic. They look cel-shaded, like a cartoon or Borderlands, which is very very cool. They simultaneously look 2D and 3D haha.

I am curious though, how do you paint them? Do you base them the dark color and then carefully add all the flatter surfaces and highlight them? Or do you sort of paint them normally and then take a fine brush or fine-tipped pen and shade in the creases?

Not sure if you have a tutorial up, but if you don't I think it'd be a very interesting process.

This is an extremly unique painting style. Were you going for the cell shade look? I am intrested in how you do it also. You def. pulled it off! I won't be trying to recreate it as its not my style. I am just so intriqued lol. Canis's head looks like it is a miscast, he has downs, or something though...nothing with your paint. It is the actual model mold, it looks odd. Did you do the black lining with actual paint? Also great job on the blending of the blues.

LOL was just scrolling through thinking that this looks very similar to Nards tyranids then got to picture 9 and realised why.
Love your painting style man it is so technical but simple at the same time i know you hear it all the time but it is very cartoony.

BTW: When looking at the first pic (before I scrolled down) I thought "This has GOT to be the same guy who painted those pink 'nids." And it turns out I was right! You've got a great and very recognizable style. You should make a tutorial or seven on how you achieve that clean and crisp look.
