Yes I know video game slowpoke and all that but DAMN WAS IT GOOD.
I liked the story, the combat, all though playing an an engineer sometimes felt like I was banging my head on a wall.
Not to mention the fact that Tali is absolutely 100% ADORABLE, I chose her as my romance.

Seems Tali seems to have a mystical sense to players as she was also my 1st romance option.
That being said, I still find ME2 the "worst" in the series. It seemed really watered down compared to the first and less story like. It was still a good game regardless.
Can't wait to play it again after replaying ME1 as a 90% renegade (She only really cares about her crew lol). Only reason I am replayin ME1 & 2 is to see how the renegade choices affect the 3rd as I played as a full paragon 1st time.

I did a mix of Renegade and Paragon for ME2, I was a hardline but caring individual.
Plus I just liked to beat the crap out of people.
Once again, Tali is just so adorable and so deadly. I'm Commander Shepard, and This is my fav Woman of the ME series.

ME2 is probably the best overall game of the trilogy.
ME3 was really a letdown when you consider half of the people in ME2 you barely see for more than 15 minutes the entire game. The obvious ending issue is there as well.
ME1 was just weak from everything but a story standpoint, I thought.

The second game introduced some awesome gameplay differences between the different classes. One could play infiltrator for one play-through, then replay as as vanguard and have a completely different experience in terms of combat...pretty awesome.

Do not rush your playthrough of ME3. Do all sidequests before Priority quests or you can potentially lose them.
The ending is gak, but the 20-30 hours of playtime you'll have before it will be pretty good.

Yeah I lost a few with my main girl. Only side quests which seemed to have limited impact luckily.
Stuff like find out where my sons is, and another similar couple, unrelated (hopefully) to stuff I did in the previous two. Basically went to the Citadel.. and yeah, that whole bit removed about three sub quests.
Well the guys who gave me the quests are no longer there anyways.

And if you're playing on PC there is a very handy save game editor that allows you to alter your prior decisions if it turns out they will negatively impact the way you want your game to go.

I think Drell are amphibians. Krogan are actually reptilian. Many people are confused about Turians. Turians are avian not reptilian.

Thane is the one I let die, because I didn't like the whole "#feelings man" vibe I get from him.
Or it's just that once I got Tali she distracted me from everything with her adorableness.

I only thought Mordin due to the convos you can have with Javik in ME3.

Interesting, I actually thought Thane was one of the better character after Garrus. Kinda interested to see how ME3 would be affected if you got nearly everybody but yourself killed.

Glad to see you had fun. I thought ME2 was awesome as well.
I picked Liara, but I agree that Tali is truly adorable as well. Gotta love dat accent! In ME1 already she made me regret that I couldn't bring three companions in my squad (as Liara and Garrus are my favs), but I still picked her on occasions where it seemed someone tech-savvy would come in handy.
Also, just wait until you catch her drunk in ME3!
As for the suicide mission, I kinda lost Miranda, but honestly not intentionally. At the time, I thought it added some nice drama to my imaginary continuation of the story, where Shep would at times watch over Oriana out of a sense of duty, basically taking the place of her now-dead sister.
Also, Paragades ftw!
Imho, the only downside to ME2 was that it didn't have the Mako.

Yeah, the credit cost of some things in ME2 was a bit weird. Either that, or the mining business in the 22nd century really doesn't pay.
Also, in ME3, you can buy a huge predator fish on the Citadel. I was just about to purchase one, then I thought that this might be a bad idea... I'm not sure it really works that way, but I wasn't about to risk it.

The cost of items is not based on realism, but on necessity. Upgrades are necessary to unlock a perfect ending, the aquarium is just a gold sink.

Naah, even in the worst case, ME3 by necessity gives you at least two squadmates (1 new and 1 from ME1) right at the start. You can perfectly defeat the Reapers just with them.
However, you would miss out on a lot of cool story and fun, that's for sure. For example, I'm sure it would have been interesting to have Miranda with me on that one mission just to see her reactions.
But eh, I guess that's what youtube is for. Or further playthroughs.
Amaya wrote:The cost of items is not based on realism, but on necessity. Upgrades are necessary to unlock a perfect ending, the aquarium is just a gold sink.
Thanks, I wouldn't have noticed.
Still, gold sinks can be made in a way that they conform to the economy. Of course, this would have probably necessitated designing a lot more stuff than just the aquarium or Shep's facial reconstruction. All in all, I don't think anyone felt truly bothered by the path BioWare cose, it just looks a bit funny when you think about it.

I still think Mass Effect 1 is the best, but I think it is because I enjoy the rpg elements in a game more than the gameplay. You had better dialog choices, more interaction with NPCs, etc. Mass Effect 2 had the best gameplay, ME 3 had the least amount of rpg elements (the dialog ones) but was a pretty good game from a gameplay standpoint like ME 2.

That's unfortunate, cause if Thane is alive in ME3 he has an absolutely badass scene on the Citadel when.....certain events....go down. In fact, I didn't like him much in ME2 either but he is very well written in ME3.
Mordin has one of the best written parts in ME3 in my opinion, especially if you choose the Renegade options with him.

Im odd in that I played ME3 first, then I went back and bought ME2 (with genesis, i couldn't be bothered to get ME1). I certainly enjoyed ME3 allot more the second time round when i knew who everybody was and what was actually going on. I also started to see why some people raged so hard at the ending, all those choices, all that friendship and gathering war assets for what?
I was surprised how short the central story of ME2 was compared with 3, as it obviously heavily centred around the "loyalty missions" (which were all extremely good, especially Tali's). The combat however seemed horribly clunky after playing ME3, the citadel layout is also horrible and why do you have to have two people following you for no reason? My main complaint is with amo, I was playing an infiltrator, was I meant to spit on the Human Reaper? However there are far more "neutral" dialogue options in 2 and the paragon/renegade system seems clearer.
The final battle was epic, choosing Tali and Legion to go with me at that point seemed a definite reflection of the future....

The constant 2 squadmates in ME2 is a carryover from ME1 which in turn is a carryover from NWN games and KotOR.

You'd have loved ME1 then.
I still think thermal clips were a stupid fallback. And not just because it made for some minor inconsistencies in a few story points.

I didn't find thermal clips to be that bad of a swap. It was based off of Geth weaponry iirc which you had contact with a gak load during ME1. At the start of ME2 you end up "dying" and being rebuilt over 2 years. This gives somewhat a decent amount of time to swap over the ammo system. All that confused me was Shepard pretty much woke up and knew their needed to be a thermal clip inserted into the pistol. If Miranda had explained that guns now used thermal clips instead of just overheating then it would have avoided the minor inconsistencies.
