We wanted OGRE, we got OGRE.

I want Car Wars more!

From SJ himself - http://www.sjgames.com/ill/archive/May_07_2012/Want_Car_Wars_On_Kickstarter

From WIRED - http://www.wired.com/geekdad/2012/05/car-wars-is-back-maybe/

Basically, donate some cash to OGRE Kick, get a shirt and access to the Car Wars build up forum to discuss what we want in the game.

I know it's a long time off, but this could really get a groundswell going. Since SJ seems to have a thing for hard card, maybe we can get some solid tracks that are multi-sided and conect in different configurations. I'm drooling at all the possibilities.

The people that read the OGRE thread know.

Plus I tossed in more info.

Feel free to delete the thread if you want.

It's probably too much to ask for plastic multipart Car Wars cars? That would be the best!

Yeah, prepping for a game was more fun than the game itself in some ways. Built some nasty vehicles back in the day.

In the dark recesses of your mind...

That game was a classic. I will be on board with the Car Wars kickstarter if it does happen.

now what would be really nice is resin/metal/whatever add-on components meant to modify diecast cars. Make them look more rag-tag and armed and whatnot

There's plenty of resin parts manufacturers post on this site. One of them must think this would be worthwhile.

Wow. Car Wars coming back huh? That would be great! I actually wrote the adventure/mission that ended up being the cover for ADQ 3/1 back when I was 17. Oh what the heck, gave 'em $30 to hopefully get Car Wars started.

Ogre and Car Wars, hell yeah. So happy my FLGS started a board game night, can't what to bring them to play.

Peter: As we all know, Christmas is that mystical time of year when the ghost of Jesus rises from the grave to feast on the flesh of the living! So we all sing Christmas Carols to lull him back to sleep.
Bob: Outrageous, How dare he say such blasphemy. I've got to do something.
Man #1: Bob, there's nothing you can do.
Bob: Well, I guess I'll just have to develop a sense of humor.

I wasn't a fan of this as it muddied what I was going to buy at first glance. Ogre should have been for ogre, w/o putting car wars stuff in the pledge levels. Don't mix your signals.

I love both games and have the originals, just don't like the way it was done.

So this..

A mate managed to trash himself in the first secound of the game by doing 2 high hazard turns and losing control and going into a roll for the rest of the game, pretty funny...

I love this game so much and would love to see more...

Yes, I agree.

I'm particularly annoyed because I signed up for OGRE 6th edition a year ago when it was first mooted, and now it is on Kickstarter they won't ship to the UK.

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

Really how, you still get the Ogre stuff, with no need to do anything with Carwars. Now you just get to join in on a forum for Car Wars if enough people get Ogre. How dose this stop you from giving no more money then before to get Ogre?

Car Wars is already available.

stick with the classic. You don't need revamps.

What would impress me more is if GW would rerelease thier own little diddy... lets see some of that finecrap on the highways.

Matchbox cars with missles- FTW!!!

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money.

Didn't GW call there one Dark Future or some thing like that.

That was back when GW made games.

It's rather off-putting to be forced to donate money to
OGRE (if you don't like it) to get the possibility of getting a game you do want.

I think he was just running out of ideas for OGRE stretch goals. The original Idea was just to have a nifty re-release of OGRE.

This way, he's using all the hype for OGRE to rekindle some of the nostalgia for CAR WARS.

Think of it this way, if he gets another dime of peldges or not, he got loads of free publicity for CAR WARS. It was totally worth it.

I'm passing on OGRE myself, but I'm keenly interested in a new CAR WARS. I still have a bunch of models for KRASH I'd like to get some use from.

KRASH = CAR WARS + CCG. You bought cars and booster packs and were allowed to use the weapons and items on you owned, up to the hardpoint limit. Decent rules, but lacked a point based system to keep matches even.

I'll echo the others

If they seriously want to get interest for Car Wars, give it its own kickstarter or something

But they will. After the success of the OGRE kickstarter a CAR WARS kickstarter is practically guarenteed.

They use the OGRE one to, pardon the pun, "kickstart" some interest. Use the forums to playtest and develop the new CAR WARS with some fanatic fan based crowd sourcing, and 6-12 months from now we get a Kickstarter.
